For anyone needing tyres I was just at Gordon Levin Tyres (Emu Plains) and they are selling 235/45/17 A048 semi-slicks for $80/each 2nd hand (still plenty of meat). They were low on stock when I was there but said they get them often from weekend circuit meetings. That's a tidy price compared to the ~$400/each new.

I got a new exhaust fitted to my car last week and ever since then my avc-r hasn't been holding boost. The highest it's gone is 1.43 bar on a setting of 1.20 bar (but varies on similar settings) so I really want to fix it up. My duty cycle is set to 52%, what do I need to adjust to fix the problem?

The final 10 should be able to choose whatever fuel load they like for qualifying and then refill at the end. This will give them 20mins (now 15mins) to do the quickest laps they possibly can rather than burning off fuel, then doing 2-3 quick laps on 2 sets of tyres. I'd rather see 15mins worth of quick laps battling it against each other.

Sounds like you need just a basic pistons upgrade good for around 300-330rwkw. That would be heaps of power to give it a squirt when you want to but still keep it relatively ok for daily driving.

My car is tuned rich (CRD) and when I was getting my new cat-back exhaust fitted yesterday the bloke said that normally when he pulls off an exhaust they have about 1-2mm of black crap lining the insides where as mine has 3-4mm which he said was 'too' rich. It does blow plenty of black crap when I give it a belting which does become expensive but then I read threads of engines blowing up due to bad tuning and I sorta forget all about my engine running so rich.

Whilst i'd love Webber to be in the best car/team and up the front winning championships i'd also hate for it all to be just handed to him on a silver platter. Much more interesting watching drivers fight for a race rather than just grab pole and drive off into the distance (Schuey a few years back).

The last bathurst cruise I went on (SkylinesNSW) it snowed on the way home. We did a few laps of the track then had a bbq just on the outskirts of the town.

Oooh good question, Bathurst 1000 that weekend..... the only place you will find me is at home glued to the tv.
