  1. I'll be there after work (1pm-ish) spectating.
  2. No need for introductions... i'll be the guy chasing the skanks driving around in the carpark
  3. Just incase anyone missed the race I made some quick video clips of the action (divx5). You can download them from: here
  4. These days the comentators don't even raise an eyebrow unless a car runs a 10sec pass or even a very low 11.
  5. Yup hire a helicopter!
  6. Is their anything happening out penrith on any day/night of the week now? Since Panthers closed down the Evans club the town has been extremely quiet everywhere. So quiet that I can actually lineup inside Krispy Kreme at 2am rather than 400m down the carpark
  7. I really like how its all focused on nations rather than individual drivers however it still lacks the excitement of F1. Over time though im sure it will pickup, can't wait for the EC race coming up
  8. Think of how much time I could save myself if I just volunteered to help cook rather than waiting in the bbq line 5x

I'd absolutely love to go to bathurst however i'd need to take a big tv with me. I couldn't stand watching the same corner/straight for 8hrs of a day knowing their is another 6km of track im missing out on.

  11. ....if you have night vision
  12. Another great day John, well done. Using info from here: 1. Kevin Malcolm - 0:49.3770 (53 laps) 2. Bruce Oaklands - 0:49.5460 (75 laps) 3. John Penlington - 0:49.5480 (65 laps) 4. Nathan Buckley - 0:49.9090 (31 laps)
  13. Just as an indication I did 14.0 @ 100mph with a 2.0sec 60ft time and i've seen many others do 13.7-14.0's with 100mph. So seems like you need to work on the first 330ft section of the drag strip.
  14. How does that surface compare to a proper prepped drag track?
  15. I was there from about 11am till 4pm. Was some good driving and nice cars. Did anyone get pics?
  16. anyone want some short clips before I convert this 6gb mpeg to dvd ?
  17. I had a look under the bonnet, noticed the big turbo and then immediately took a few steps backwards...
  18. I'm thinking Williams will go pretty good next year with the Cosworth v8 due to the v8 Indy engine knowledge. All the other teams would have to build v8's without the past knowledge..

How hot does that Veilside NSX look!!
  22. Nice work! The drags does have corners, their is a very tight hairpin right at the end that brings you back to the starting line!
  23. Congrats UREADY. I was out in the pits when I heard the distinctive sound of a worked RB26 scream off down the 1/4 and then heard a 10.7sec pass over the pa system. Took me about 3sec to get back to the spectators grandstand to find out who it was Time to get a full set of M/T's eh... I was actually expecting some quicker cars there last nite due to the big event this weekend but it was still a great night anyway!
  24. I got the Fusion Plus card (with remote control, coax output, analogue rca input) about 3-4mths ago for $200 from my local www.arc.com.au Many people say the Dvico software is buggy, I haven't had any problems (you get the odd glitch but nothing that has prevented me from using the card/software). The card is fine and plenty of other software to use instead of the bundled Fusion software. I don't watch a huge amount on my pc (even though it looks unreal on my 19" CRT) I use it more for recording stuff when im out, or late nite tv stuff (motor racing or misc tv shows). Mr Baron grab DVDShrink, MPEG-VCR, TMPGEnc DVD Author, DrDivx and about 20gb of free hdd space. Edit: My neighbour has 1 of those vcr-style Sony DVD Recorders and I have 2 or 3 rounds of the F1 done by this and the quality is nowhere near what I get with my Fusion card + editing software. The F1 coverage from beginning to end minus ads is about 6.5-7gb. With ads its around 9-10gb. A DVD-R holds 4.4gb so the Sony recorder has to compress the 9-10gb to less than 50% quality. It auto-adjusts the quality depending on how long to set the recording for (ie 2.5hrs or 3hrs). By doing my own editing on my pc the compression is around 70-75% all the time and you can't tell the difference between the original and compressed..
