ahh thanks for that, still not as good as babelfish but atleast this 1 works and is speedy.
  5. I don't understand all the different classes or rules and regs but as a spectator that has been to 99% of the events that WSID has ever held I have to say that DYO is without a doubt the best spectator event (imho). Nothing worse than watching a pac rotary go up against a fwd bling civic. Especially when it takes 3mins for the rotary to get into staging and the civic could have done 10 runs by then.
  6. Yes they certainly are a bargain these days. I've had the RB25DET P/FC + Controller sitting in my 'basket' on Nengun for about 2wks now. Just waiting for that 5mins where im in a spending mood and it'll be on its way. About 2yrs ago when I first started modding they were up around $2,200 delivered with the controller and because their were so many other cheaper mods i've basically left the p/fc to being my very last mod (still undecided if i should throw in the tomei pon cams or just the powerfc and worry about cams when i do the turbo upgrade).

Whats the URL for these yahoo auctions again ? (and how do you view them in english).
  8. I'm after the Latch (only) from the center console lid for an R33 GTS-t. The latch must be in 100% working condition.
  9. 2rismo I still think on your final run (where you broke out) that the rotary took longer than 20sec to stage. I was watching it carefully (hoping you would deliberately stage straight away to try and win that way, I know I would) and the starter had a stopwatch but he started it well after you had already staged and looked like he was hanging out until the rotary had staged. Their was also another case where a guy in that white datsun 1200 with the blue nissan sticker on the side had video footage of him being held at the line for 48sec, yup they (wsid) really stuffed that up I thought this would have been automatic with the timing system for that type of event rather than input from a person?
  10. Yes after doing 12.4-12.6's all day to then do a 12.3 whilst braking was quite impressive Hope nobody had their car broken into. The little event organisers at the parking gates said that their were heaps of breakings and to let them know if their were any issues. My van was in 1 piece
  11. Short answer = too much.Long answer = see here
  12. You know I was actually thinking that also Duncan until I read some other threads on here with the exact same problem (being fixed by a new slave) Cubes, I might get my mechanic to do that
  13. I'm with Elithrar. Forget about bling and go with the forged internals.
  14. Take it to the track and practice. Much easier to learn when you have a proper prep'd track and a timeslip to gauge your efforts. Start low, build up until you either break something or wheelspin and then go with what works best.
  15. What model?
  16. Decent day for $25, pity the officials don't understand the rules I still find it interesting how with such a wide variety of cars attending wed nite street meets that the majority of the "street cars" that race at these weekend major events have never been to a wed nite street meet.
  17. Long as he doesn't turn up to a cruise in a trenchcoat and a beanie I think we are right ....
  18. 12mths, 30 runs, ~$3,700+ spent and only a 0.5sec improvement.... Yup you'll learn lots from me
  19. Car: 1995 R33 GTS-t (200rwkw) Clutch: Daiken Exedy Organic Sports Clutch (~18mths old, ~25,000km) Problem: Have to double-clutch to get in/out of gear (sometimes, see below) Well this first came apparent to me whilst drag racing. Around 1 in 5 runs i'd have problems getting into 2nd gear and just thought it was me being an average driver whilst trying to give it my all. But since fitting Nitto Drag tyres the problem has become alot more obvious and common (atleast 1 in 2 runs). If I do a very small burnout (basically just scrape the water off the tyres) and then launch from 5,000rpm (dump the clutch) I can take off fine but when I go to change to 2nd gear i'd say 50% of the time I have to press the clutch 2-3x just to pull it out of gear and then another 2-3x to put it into gear with 2nd gear being the worst followed by 3rd gear. The clutch doesn't smell at all and I can't feel it slipping either and under the foot it still feels very heavy compared to a stock skyline clutch. If I do no burnout at all and launch from only 3,000rpm the problem is no where near as common. At my last trackday (Oran Park) I'd do the main straight in 4th and the rest of the track in 3rd without any issues at all. But soon as I dropped back to 2nd gear for the last corner (coming up onto the straight) i'd be doing around 4,500-5,500rpm going through the corner and when trying to change into 3rd gear it would crunch again and i'd have to get off the power and double-clutch again. Soon as I went back to holding the last corner in 3rd gear the problem basically disappeared. When just street driving in a casual manner the clutch is fine with the odd crunch (using 1yr old redline shockproof gear oil which probably would be worth changing). I've ready some threads on here and from that I believe it's the slave cylinder (worn or too hot I don't know). But every mechanic I talk to (clutch specialist or otherwise) all say the same thing "not too sure what the problem is until I get the clutch out and look at it" which is an exspensive exercise if the clutch turns out to be fine. The problem seems to occur when either high rpm or high levels of heat?? I believe a new genuine nissan slave cylinder is around $100 + fitting. Thoughts?
  20. Ahh but that's a rebuild cost due to highly modified or bad tuning (or 150,000km of torture). Consider Stock GTS-t vs Stock GTR with no drag/track/street racing....
  21. Yup cops on power trips... I discovered 1 today on the way home from a Drag Meeting. I got pulled over at a RBT station (in my hiace work van of all things haha). The officer gave me a death stare and asked how I was to which I replied good thanks. He asked me to remove the plastic and blow into the gadget which I did. Said I was fine and to take the plastic tube, but I refused (it is the cops responsibility to dispose of the plastic tubes). So I started to drive off and he reached in my window and grabbed me so I stopped. Then he yelled at me again to take the tube and I told him it was his responsibility. So he grabbed it off himself and threw it at me (landing somewhere inside my van, still haven't found it). He got angry that I "tried to run him over" (I didn't ask him to reach in and grab my shirt as I was driving off). Then another cop came over to see what was going so I told them both to F-off and drove off flattening their witches hats all over the road cops *snort*
  22. I'm 99.9% sure its a direct bolt up.
  23. Your R/Times don't count. The timer starts when you leave the staging line and cross the finishing line (otherwise most rotary cars would be doing 2min 1/4's ) . With some more experience you will easily drop this to around a 2.1sec 60ft which should put you in the mid to high 14's with no mods at all.

    Bus Lane

I think the T2 Transit lanes are a waste of time and space. The only cars I ever see in them have only 1 person in the car
