  1. I believe it was like this up until about mid 2004 when they all got the computer systems fitted in the cars.
  2. Yup they are tops !! *plug*
  3. I'd say it's the spiggot bush and the reason i'd say this is that I noticed on the weekend that my car made this noise about 10x (when clutch is in selecting a car, noise stops when clutch pedal is released) and I had the exact same noise/feeling about 2yrs ago and it was the spiggot bush that I got replaced (with a new clutch at the same time). From memory its like a $15 part but requires a day of labour to get the gearbox in/out and not much more time to swap over a new clutch. The noise is extremely irritating/embarressing though, pity it costs so much to fix such a cheap part.
  4. My review of the tyres I like... http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ichelin+preceda
  5. SK: By having the wrong rear spring rate can that cause axle tramp or is the spring rate totally unrelated?
  6. It was just a local "brake mechanic'. Just go to your local jax, kmart auto, and tell them you need your gearbox oil changed (and already have the gearbox oil).
  7. It'd be fine for the first power run after that you'd want out
  8. Cost me $20 and 20mins about a year ago to get a brake workshop to do it.
  9. I fitted my Splitfire Coils yesterday (thanks Nengun) and they are very nice. Soon as I get my exhaust manifold fixed everything should be back to tip-top order
  10. Not right now but certainly later on (a month or 2).
  11. Approx what price would it cost for 2 of these ?
  12. Send me a PM if you still have the center console lid (where you rest your left arm)
  13. Tell us your price son !
  14. I hope about 0.5sec of a gain
  15. Every workshop has its expensive and cheap parts it's just a matter of working out which is which. John is extremely helpful though, just mention you are an SAU'r.
  16. Gizmo for comparison here are my details (with best in brackets): R/T - 0.219 (0.191) 60' - 2.166 (2.098) 330' - 6.015 (5.992) 660' - 9.210 (9.210) mph - 78.69 (79.84) 1000' - 11.901 (11.901) ET - 14.163 (14.163) MPH - 100.20 (101.80) Km/H - 161.25 (163.83) So as you can see their is still plenty left in it if I hook it up right altogether. I seem to do pretty consisten 2.1's and 100mph's whilst everything inbetween changes around slightly. Mods: Pineapples set for squat 225/50/16 rubber 186rwkw Sports Organic Clutch Stock Turbo Stock ECU 11psi Ex Cam Gear Full 3" Exhaust FMCI K&N Panel Filter Am I happy with my time? No! Is their more left in the current setup? Yes! Will I be back to improve on my time? Yes! (soon as these damn Splitfire coils arrive). For 100mph i'd be happy with a 13.7sec time but not a 14.1 (almost 14.2).
  17. The araldite cost me about $12 and it took me about 4 days to do. I'd take 1 out, glue it up, put another spare coil in so i could still drive my car whilst leaving the other coil to dry for a solid 24hrs in the sun (if you put them back in any sooner the araldite glue will just drip all over everything so take your time and do 1 at a time). /waiting on Splitfires from Nengun
  18. www.racebrakes.com.au give them a call.
  19. Do yourself a cheap quick and easy favour and buy some "Redline Shockproof Lightweight Gear Oil". Put that in, give it a solid 500-700km of driving and then count the dolars you saved on that rebuild. www.uas.com.au sell/deliver the oil. Call john and mention this to him and I doubt you'll get off the phone in under 10mins
  20. Its your spark plugs you need to gap to 0.8mm (or buy pre-gapped coppers and just put them in yourself, will cost about $25 and 25mins of your time). Gapping the plugs from 1.1mm down to 0.8mm is just a quickfix for coils that are on the way out. After that you tape them with electrical tape, then when that fails you can araldite them then all that is left is buying a $600+ set of Splitfires (which is what im waiting on delivery of).
  21. Yup thats the problem because I had the same problem. It's a little weight about 2 inches by 2 inches supposedly to reduce vibration but after a while it becomes loose and just starts floating around under the airbag clunking everytime you turn the wheel too far. I haven't noticed any extra vibration on my wheel since removing this (altho I got UAS to do it because I got another 2nd hand airbag wheel put on at the same time).
  22. Was just a query, nice ride !
  23. Just out of curiosity do you happen to have any dyno results of this car in the current stock form?
