  1. Damn now I know what everyone is talking about with all the extra categories. Took me 5mins to find the /Drag section Had to do a 'title' search to find the thread I was after
  2. The track is about 6mths old
  3. "Kingswood Kustom" is just up the road (big blue fence), he's my mechanic and has never done anything wrong by me. That's whom I was going to get my kit sprayed/fitted by but ended up "getting it done cheap". OT: Nothing wrong with my car, just abit uncertain about my job security over the next 2-5mths and don't want to have to worry about loan repayments etc. If I get a new job paying the same then I will happily keep it, if I get another job paying higher i'll get an R32 GTR and if I have to start "looking" for a new job then i'll sell it and get back into the game in 12mths
  4. Definitely get #1 first, see my results here: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...=Before%2FAfter
  5. Shane like you I honestly have never done a burnout in my car and don't really intend to on public roads etc. I have however done around 40 passes at the drags and all I do is what MrBlonde said above. At WSID they make you stop in the water so all I do is drop the clutch from 3,000rpm and the car skids forward abit just enough to scrub all the crap/water off the tyres. No smoke, no big black lines just fresh rubber and no water. I'm using standard 225/50/16 road tyres and about 186rwkw. I do consistent 2.1's with minimal wheelspin. At the old Eastern Creek track all I did is roll thru the water (no burnout, nothing) and I still got consistent 2.1's on my very first night. As some of the others have mentioned above, just worry about getting to the finish line in 1 piece for your first night out. Don't worry about your reaction time, the other lane, just wait until the light goes green and drop the clutch (3-5k rpm depending on your clutch/car/traction). Even a 14sec pass is over soooo quickly I still get to the end and think "wtf I did just do for the past 14sec" because it is all over so fast.
  6. Noooooooooo !!!! Biggest mistake i've made with my car is getting my sideskirts/rear bar sprayed/fitted "on the cheap". I have to look at it everyday and wonder why the heck I didn't pay the extra $500
  7. Drive it like you hate it
  8. I still think that wing is way too small.....
  9. More money spent on it today ^bump^
  10. Yup you can see the 2 bolt holes either end, plus maybe 2 bolts along the middle on the inside and its done. Just pay the money and get it done professionally is my only advice, even if you have to wait an extra month to get it done
  11. With my 400R skirts we just put about 10 screws in either side at each end and also in the middle inside the door. I don't believe their are any factory mounting positions.
  12. Fark that !! They want you back in your car so they can talk "down on you" so that they are the king sh1t and have all the power. In that case if they didn't want me outside of my car they coulda just farked off and left me alone. My patience has long disappeared for cops, no respect at all !!. I've had cops follow (tailgate) me thru 5-6 suburbs and the only thing that has stopped me from being put in lockup over night is the fact that i've had a chick with me in the passenger seat that is stressed as fark and just wants to get away from them.
  13. Bah thats not harrassment, come out west !! Try doing a RBT when you got a gun pulled on you for absolutely no reason at all other than you are driving home with 3 passengers doing under the speed limit on a 70km/h road. :)
  14. If you haven't already read the 2 articles on Autospeed.com i'd highly suggest it.
  15. Speaking of Excel's, I drove 1 yesterday for the first time... couldn't even overtake a semi-trailer on the freeway pos !! Had to put my arm out the window and slap it like a horse to get it up a hill grr !!
  16. I've got some BCPR6ES's going in tomorrow. I'll post some pics of my 50,000km old Iridiums tomorrow.
  17. Too right !! I'll be lucky to get enough back to pay 25% of my insurance
  18. I seen the 11.4sec pass from the grandstand, the launch left a bit to be desired from (for a car trying to get into the 10's not by my ability). Then on the 2nd run (the 10.8sec pass) soon as the launch was over (500% better than the 11.4sec pass) I was cheering knowing that it was gonna be a 10.9-11.0 pass and the guys nearby were looking at me all weird. Soon as the car went over the line and the 10.8sec lit up they gave me the thumbs up
  19. I'm interested, will let you know this time next week. I think you will have quite a few interested people with this kit.
  20. My advice is don't bother. I had a new seal kit put in my Master Cylinder which did fark all, I then had it bored and sleeved which made it "driveable" in the end (and after 6mths of fighting with my local mechanic) I bought a brand new genuine master cylinder from Nissan Japan. If only I listened to RaceBrakes advice 9mths earlier (I was broke at the time and saving $200 here or there was what I tried to do). In the end I spent the money and couldn't be happier, just wish i'd done it 9mths earlier.
  21. Give RaceBrakes a call and book it in for 30mins on a Saturday and get them to take it for a drive around the block. They diagnosed my problem within 100m of driving and then spent the remainder of the 2km drive commenting on other components (suspension, tyres etc).
  22. and I think if you actually watched the 11.4sec and 10.8sec runs tonight (to see the difference in launches) you would agree that a 10.6x is on the cards as the 10.8sec launch was 'better' but with more practice could yield more tenths.
  23. I think it has a 10.6sec on the current setup too with more experience. He did an 11.4sec whilst bogging the launch, then on the next run the launch was better and the result was a 10.8sec :P Yum
