  1. I think their will be more spectators and more drivers but having more drivers is a very bad idea unless they break it up into groups (ie; groups of 50 at a time, do 5 runs each and then park it for the day). At the moment with 120 cars on a wednesday nite it takes 3hrs to get 3 runs and then 2 runs in the last hour. Thats way too long to wait inbetween runs (both for comfort of the drivers and the cars). If WSID break it up into say 4x 50 car grps it means those 50 can get it over and done with in a fairly quick time period and then be done with things.
  2. At WSID when the light turns green the r/time starts. So if your r/time is 0.500 it took you 0.5sec to reaction to the green light. In 10yrs of watching drag racing i've never seen it any other way.
  3. Yeah that'll suck... just what we need... more competitors...
  4. Willowbank are quite backwards aren't they  Not much I can do about that except list what are on the timeslips.
  5. I think auto would save me a good 0.25sec down the quarter... someone gimme an auto
  6. I'm addicted but I just can't get the times I've had around 20 passes and improved 0.2sec even after about $1000 of mods  I'll be back out there again tho in a month to chase that 13.6sec which I believe my car is capable of (just not the driver)
  7. atleast make it a link so dont i dont have to manually open a new window and type it in myself...
  8. 1/4 Mile requires a very high level of driver ability where as a dyno requires no level at all, you could put a brick on the accelerator and still get the same result.... so I beg to differ (to a certain extent). If you have 2 identical dyno's side-by-side you will get the same results. If you have 2 drivers drive the same car down the same track you will get different results so their is a hell of a lot more to it then just pure engine power.
  9. I'm 69% in (the other 31% doesn't fit).
  10. To begin with I was removing everything lose except me and the seats... sub, glovebox stuff, center console stuff, jack, spare tyre etc and I was running on about 10-20L of fuel. Now I leave it all in and use 20-30L of fuel so probably about 25-35kg difference (half a passenger). The difference I have noticed is no axle tramp with the extra weight in the back (tyres and tyre pressure have stayed the same). Next time im out on the track I hope to have: * Semi-slicks * A clutch that releases and engages gears * Brakes that work  If all goes well I might start removing the tyre/jack/sub.
  11. mmm gearbox... yes please !
  12. Updated ! I spectated both runs and was quite impressed. R33vit.. seen you stage against a loud v8 and expected you a slow pass (damn those cars are loud when your trying to listen to your own cars revs). Was quite surprised when you got to the other end in only 13.3 what changes have you done to your launching technique coz I want a 1.89 60ft SLY33.. dude that car is pure horn !!! The first run I seen you do was heaps of wheelspin but you still got a great time. Then 2nd run I seen you do was even better, seems you have some awesome top end After seeing both of you run and get fantastic times im wondering if thats an incentive to me to leave my car in the garage or to get back out and try n break into the high 13's
  13. Definitely
  14. Coz they usually do a big smokey burnout which goes past the staging tree, then they have to reverse back (menawhile the other car is already staged and ready to go). Then they need to stage, then spool up and about 3mins later they are ready to go
  15. I do to and I'm aware of others that want to get good reaction times which is why i've added a "Top 10 Reaction Time" to my drags list (http://skylines.pnc.com.au/drags.html).
  16. I agree with what both of you have said.... One argument i'd like to add (hypothetically) is if you are at a set of lights on a public road (which sau does not condone of course) and the green light goes and you beat that car beside you to the next set of lights because he is sitting there for an extra 10secs "winding" up his rotory ( ) but he actually covers that same distance in a less amount of time which is the quicker car? The car that got to the other end first or the car that covered that distance in the shortest amount of time? Personally i'm on a drag strip to race and racing to me is when the green light glows not 5sec after coz im waiting for the turbo to spool etc. If I had to wait that extra 5sec to spool or for whatever reason than i'd stage an extra 5sec before the other driver. To me the reaction time is all part of drag racing, and everybody has an equal chance to improve their reaction time. Off topic: I'd have to say my best race to date was last week at WSID against BOOSTD. I checked his previous timeslips for that nite before we ran to see what sorta times he was getting. I had him covered on the r/time and 60ft (about 0.8sec in total) but he had me squared up on the TS and ET. So I knew that if I could get away cleanly I still might actually get the race win even though he'd end up with a quicker ET/TS. As it happens I didn't see him at all until about the last 50m of the track where he flew past me like I was standing still, now that's what I call drag racing. Are you as confused as me yet after all of that ?
  17. I'll be there to spectate.
  18. Damnit I wanna drive my car around Sandown
  19. I did that on the old list here but most people didn't provide the imformation and it ended in a sh1t fight.
  20. I've just organised a set of semi-slick tyres so now all im waiting on is my new master cylinder and a clutch adjustment. Provided they go ahead and I can get the day off .. and their are spots still left i'll be in for a day down at wakefield. I've even convinced my mum to do some driving on the day (she lives down at Goulborn doing work at the Police Academy on skidpan teaching them). She spends all day in falcadores but I think after a few drives in my car that she is starting to get addicted to boost  I'll know in about 2wks if im a definite driver (if not then i'm looking to passenger whore with someone). How many spots in total do we have ? Is this a private day just for us? (seems a little more expensive than other wakefield days??)
  21. Post up your dyno chart
  22. I'll bring it up on the next board meeting and see if funds are available
