  1. Is that the video of me picking up my wheel or is that on another session?
  2. http://fixwifiesmx5.chipin.com/ Requires Paypal.
  3. Here is my video from the first session on track.
  4. Heaps of places sell them, im pretty sure even Kincrome have a set. If not GasWeld sell them as a Toolex brand.
  5. Richard needs to stop pulling himself. Jumping over a ripple strip and hitting someone that is in the pit entry lane (a good 3 or 4 car widths off the main circuit) is not "would have made the corner". Greg now you need to stop pulling yourself. Regardless of the situation the car behind is always at fault. Eric had exited the main circuit in the correct manner, was on the pit entry lane (had to slow for a 90 degree corner on the pit exit lane) and was taken out by an out of control car that was out of his field of view from mirrors. So who will be paying for the damage caused to the SureFlo car? Greg? SureFlo? Jason? Richard?
  6. Personally i'd be getting 3 quotes from local smash repair shops then drop it off when you have enough cash to get it done. If you ever try to sell it in the future and a potential buyer notices that its been repaired and then asks for receipts only to find out you did it yourself it will never sell. Sure collect the suspension and rear end parts but leave the body work to an expert. Lets get the ball rolling, takes all of 2mins and it's free: www.Chipin.com PS. As for whether cars like this 300zx should be allowed at our type of trackdays, it was 10th fastest on the day, does that mean the 9 cars faster should not be allowed either? I've been going to trackdays for nearly 10yrs now and its the first car to car contact i've ever seen, it was a mechanical fault that caused a freak accident. Nobody deliberately goes out on the track to hit someone else.
  7. Hi Eric, please setup a 'ChipIn' account. Don't forget the other car involved is a workshop car so not only will it get free labour but all parts required will be a company tax write-off.
  8. So you think Renew would knock it back due to its fast lap time or the type of vehicle it is? Because if its due to the type of vehicle it is than mine shouldnt be allowed to enter either (they might look different, my car vs neils, but they are constructed the same - fibreglass body sitting on a tube chassis powered by motorbike engines).
  9. No issues entering the radical, it's just a regular trackday. It will just be in Class C like mine.
  10. Not sure how many people are on the reserve list but if you are i'd still be heading down for 2 reasons: 1) Many cars drop out due to problems 2) Many people leave early so you might be able to organise a half day with sau/renew organisers, if that isn't available take the opportunity to be a passenger as you will learn more from the passenger seat than you will from the drivers seat (and its someone elses car)
  11. im in with cash on the day if this goes ahead, someone will have to grab me tho.
  12. Only if you go via Bathurst
  13. If anyone wants to meet up at the HungryJack / BP Servo at Marulan on the way back (will be leaving track after all sessions are finished) either hang back till the end of just meet at HJ for a defrief and rest before the hour drive home.
  14. damn ugly trailers but very effective. Will wanna be a good tow car, without that second axle ur gonna feel every bump in the road. VW used to make a van with the same concept (fwd with the rear floor drops to allow a pallet in via a pallet jack) once again damn ugly but very effective.
  15. Weather update: 20c 20% of 1mm rainfall.
  16. The limit of my knowledge is cut out the bits of the video I dont want, convert them to a smaller file size and upload to youtube
  17. McLaren will be hoping its postponed, they will need the extra time to catch the RBR's
  18. I think Neil means his -other- car...
  19. The only way to get on EC these days is during the week.
  20. Interesting weekend of racing, seems nothing has changed in 2011....the officials still dont have a brain between them!
  21. www.transquip.com.au is probably the best online toolshop i've seen (discovered by Neil on here). I can't see why a Kincrome set wouldn't do the job for you, very reasonably priced too! I can't think of a Kincrome tool that i've actually broken (but have broken many other brands before buying the equivalent Kincrome tool).
  22. Duncan, I have an engine stand sitting in my garage you coulda had, only used it one time. I'm gonna bring it to the next SAU event and whomever gets it first can have it. Couple of new tools for the garage... Crescent wire strippers; Craved is right, these wire strippers are absolutely brilliant, work perfectly every time and save a heap of time. If I knew how good they are I would have bought them 10yrs ago. Kincrome screw extractors; won't take long im sure before they will be needed. Irwin marples chisel set; no use just yet but i'll find a use for them now that they are in the toolbox.
  23. Someone has created it, they call it the pit crew + radio.
  24. I recently bought new sunraysia wheels and toyo light truck tyres for my tandem trailer (it had used ford stud wheels and used car tyres on it that were 2yrs old which needed replacing for rego). The result was the trailer sat 2 inches higher because of the light truck tyres. To combat the angle of the trailer I bought an adjustable ball mount from hayman reese for about $150 (#21228) and adjusted it to full height and now it sits level again. Russman: My '09 VE SSV Ute sits similar to yours (not as bad, but i've had mine lowered with stiffer rear springs too) and thats with just a 550kg car on a 550kg trailer (sitting level). I'm gonna look at getting some different rear shocks or some other setup in the rear. It does tow perfectly though, can safetly do the speed limit and keep up with regular cars (which shocks them because they all pull out to overtake only to find they cant even keep up) and my fuel economy only jumps about 2.5L/100km over regular city driving (6L engine drops to v4 for quite a bit of the trip back to sydney from wakefield which helps the economy). Still got 4yrs to go on my utes lease so after that I may look at a new Navara as well. As for using a van to tow, no problems but you really need to put some weight in the back of them when you tow (spare wheels and tools would be ideal) otherwise they feel like the trailer is doing all the steering. They lack power but make up for it in reliability. (I traded my previous tow vehicle, a 2000 hiace with 370,000km on it for my ssv ute - the hiace was great, it just didnt like going up hills with a trailer on it haha)
