  1. I'd like to know how you worked that out ? BHP is the HP measured at the flywheel. Now using my formula below this is what I'd rate those Bosch fuel pumps. Formula = BHP x 0.746 (hp -> kw) x 0.8 (using a 20% drivetrain loss which is quite conservative) = rwkw So that means: 910 rated at 450 bhp = 335kw = ~269rwkw 040 rated at 520 bhp = 388kw = ~310rwkw 044 rated at 730 bhp = 545kw = ~435rwkw I'm personally using the 040 pump.
  2. This sold for $300 + Delivery.
  3. Np. Thats pretty quick delivery, only took what about 4 business hours to have it delivered (picked up at 4pm friday and you recieved it monday morning).
  4. Well after they played hide-n-seek when following me to try and catch me speeding (they'd drive behind me, then beside me, then hide behind the car behind me but over to the side to get the radar on me) they finally just decided to pull me over. Got me for impersonating a police car (had blue park lights which have since been changed). They then asked me to pop my bonnet (I requested it to be done at the local police station but they denied me that). He then went straight for my pod filter. He got me for the filter not being in an enclosed box (I've since had a Blue Slip Qualified mechanic, and a different police officer tell me that my setup is not illegal as long as the standard AFM is inplace). Doesn't bother me though as I have a standard Airbox arriving tomorrow (which I planned to do next month anyhow). Costing me $16 to get the defects passed and signed then back to the RTA to have it signed and im all clean
  5. Mine is maroon but I don't park actually "in" Krispy Kreme or Maccas, wayyyy too many P-Platers for my liking. Deffinetly not me
  6. Mark contact Prestige Motorsport and they may put you on a 7 day trial of imports for these types of cars which will email you daily auctioned cars and info.
  7. Sure you can, but I hope you have a new turbo on standby for when the standard turbo blows !
  8. Famous last words... I seen about 4 hwy patrol cars on the Hwy Saturday nite, even managed to get pulled over and a nice little defect notice.
  9. I heard the owner is ditching the GTS-T + the Mrs and going to a GTR :headspin:
  10. Which Krispy Kreme was it ?
  11. Here is a picture of my stock ECU, their are about 7 different model (or version) ECU's for the R33 GTS-T. As you can see mine has a different model number to yours. http://skylines.pnc.com.au/ecu.jpg
  12. Pretty simple, stick to your 8.7psi. The 11.6psi will work but not for long on your standard IC with the heat of Summer due to heat soak.
  13. If you are still using the stock R33 S1 Turbo then i'd suggest turning your 14psi down to around 10psi for starters, then throw it on the dyno.
  14. I heard Huskisson is good this time of year *chuckle*
  15. Slightly off topic but someone might like to help out a n00b. Can someone explain what it does (head gasket) and what lowering the compression ratio is and does? Also where in the list of mods would 1 replace the standard gasket with a HKS Metal gasket and why ?
  16. Make sure you choose a FMIC suited towards the power figures that you are after. No point getting a massssive FMIC if you only want 180-220rwkw (which IMO is possible with the standard Turbo).
  17. I was using the standard R33 GTS-T pump in my car (1995 GTS-T with standard ECU and Turbo). At 7psi everything was fine but soon as I switched to 12psi my car would surge and cough n splutter (keeping in mind I have no aftermarket computer or fuel computer). I then had a Bosch 040 fuel pump installed (supplied + fitted for $340) and instantly noticed a difference. I can now run on 12psi and its as smooth as running on 7psi just by changing to the bigger fuel pump. The standard GTS-T Fuel pump is rated at 300bhp and this is brand new from the factory (most GTS-T's are 7-10yrs old). Now 300bhp is approx ~180rwkw (using a 20% drivetrain loss figure which is quite lenient). Now in the last 6mths i've used 3 different Dyno Dynamics Dyno's and have registered 203rwkw, 186rwkw and 180rwkw so I guess its safe to assume that I was maxing out the standard GTS-T fuel pump or maybe some other restriction or pressure was in place. I may have only needed to get a PowerFC and have my car tuned but I know that in the future i'll be going beyond the standard fuel pumps capable limits so it was a cheap and easy mod. Note that this is only my own personal experience which may differ with other cars or mechanics but I certainly wouldn't be going over 200rwkw on a standard GTS-T pump. I think its often a component that many people forget to think about in their list of mods. Edit: Having the fuel pump mounted in-tank will muffle most of the pumps sound. With the 040 I can hear it pump for about 5 seconds when I turn my ignition on but as soon as I start my car (even with mp3 player off and windows down) I cannot hear the pump.
  18. No mine is fine thanks but I was just asking for the people whom have a perfectly fine knob but just want it signed
  19. A new knob or the bra?
  20. Pete forget about your ECU at this stage and finish off your exhaust. Going from a 3" Cat-back exhaust to a full (front/dump/cat/back) 3" exhaust I gained 10rwkw. Then taking the boost from the standard 7psi to 11-12psi is another 10rwkw gain.
  21. Umm yeah just swap em over to the white/clear bulbs (which I've had for over a year just never been bothered to swap them) and also change my Pod for a standard Airbox (arriving on tues/wed) and then get my car inspected by an AUVIS (Authorised Unregistered Vehicle Inspection Station). That doesn't mean much to me.... im guessing I can't just take it to my normal Pink Slip mechanic instead by a proper Blue Slip mechanic (if thats the case im up shit creek without a paddle) as i've heard theirs only 1 guy that comes to this area around once a month and it costs like $400 or something ????
  22. Yup I upgraded to v7.1 last night and the "reply" box is showing correctly now. Guess v7.02 had a bug or was outdated.
  23. Swap to a FWD
  24. bahhh cops !! In the last 2-3mths i've been pulled over 5x 2x RBT's 2x Speeding (1 let off, lucky) 1x Defect Notice It's something we just gotta put up with coz of the cars we drive.
  25. I agree that 30 cars should be the limit for the 2 circuits. For the first part of the day it was pretty crowded and the queues were quite long (especially with how hot it was on the day) but by afternoon it was much more enjoyable after a dozen or so people left. How many people realised it cost $10 per/person to be a passenger for the day? I paid my $10 and it would have to be the best $10 i've ever spent. I found that the organisers were quite lenient on passengers and 99% of the time didn't even bother to check if passengers had actually paid. I'd say their would have been easily 20 passengers on the day (some cars had 2 or 3 different passengers throughout the day). I think if/when we organise another day like this we should be contacting another car club like the Silvia's or S2000's or someone else to help make up the (huge) numbers just like with regular trackdays how we are just a 'part' of the whole group. People saying they will go but never show is just a fact of life, it happens all the time even just friendly cruises. I don't think i've ever been to a cruise or trackday etc where everyone showed up whom said they would showup, not much can be done about this except to make allowance for it and hope its kept to a bare minimum. One idea for the next organiser would be rather then just having a set fee for a set day why not just list the "cost price" and then however many turn up then just cover those costs. Obviously some days it could be quite expensive and other days quite cheap. ie; if it costs $4100 to hire the circuit and 50 people turn up then it only costs $82 for the day but if 30 people turn up then it costs $137. I think 30 for a skidpan day would be a worst case scenario and im sure most people would be happy to pay the extra $37 to get more "track time" then having to worry about certain people losing money jeopardising future events. my 5c
