Yup I just heard this on 2UE

well what a day.... not many skylines but still the usual influx of Honda S2000's, NSX, Clubsport VX, S15 afew Porsches and a nice Cobra ! Highlight of the day would of had to been the Porsche GT3 (proper race car) smashing into the wall at turn 1. He was on his 2nd or 3rd lap of the session travelling down the right hand side of the main straight (as you do), got the back right tyre out onto the grass in the braking area, tapped the brakes and then next thing I know he's heading straight towards me (im standing on the pit wall). He managed to spin it a full 180 (all whilst doing ~200km/h) then *smack* straight into the very end of the main straight wall, then slid backwards thru the middle of turn 1 and came to rest on the grass just before the big sand pit. Lucky it was a left hand drive car otherwise im sure he would have been taken away in the ambulance. I was talking to him in the pits 2mins before he went out on that session. He only picked the car up last Saturday and came out today to get familar with the car (Ex Jim Richards Porsche Cup car - still had "Richards" plastered all over it). Bit of a bummer when he got it back in the pits (on the back of a tilt tray), the entire right side was all smashed in, musta bent the chassis for sure.

Thats exactly how I got done about 5wks ago (112 in an 80 zone). I got stuck behind a knob doing 65 in an 80 zone all the way from Luddenham (about 15mins before Oran Park). Finally got to a new section of road that had an overtaking lane so I overtook... Forgot to back off though and a Hwy Patrol caught be at a bad moment Then whilst I was on the side of the road that same lady cop pulled over 3 other cars

If I make time slips a requirement then i'd have a total of about 10 people on the list. Personally... i'd rather be 1sec slower than everyone else then you fib my times and then have 1000 people find out

Good luck "cruising" through the main streets associated with the Summernats. Try bumper to bumper traffic and crowds 3 deep on both sides of the road. Cannnnnnn't wait !!!

I'm thinking that for an additional fee most Courier companies would package the item for you although at what fee this is im unsure but a wing, rear bar, front bar, etc is quite a weird shaped object.

Just some vague figures to back up my above message: Eastern Creek: Car A = 1:56's Car B = 2:05's Car C = 2:17's Driver A = Most experience Driver B = Intermediate experience Driver C = Least experience Car A = Least power Car B = Middle power Car C = Most power The end result is the driver with the most experience was a loooooong way ahead simply because he -really- knows how to drive the car to the fullest.

No point buying a FMIC if you wanna beat him down the 1/4, go and get some fat 245 or 255's on the rear along with a set of pineapples. Also put your spare tyre back in and try it again, removing weight from the rear end of the car will give you less traction which is why you may have spun your wheels alot. On my first attempt I only managed a 14.46sec, my excuse is severe axle tramp which I put down to removing weight from the rear of my car (spare tyre, sub box and other misc things) and also being on a prep'd track with a totally different surface to your regular road.

Hrmm so where could i find a box big enough to fit a rear wing or rear bar in it ?

I haven't noticed much of a change over the last few months. I'm sure next week their will be a nice blitz on speeding and drink driving etc but so far so good.

Forget all the power figures and crap like that, I believe its 75% driver and 25% car. Sure a 300rwkw GST-T is certainly going to do some damage but only if the driver behind the wheel is up to the challenge. Don't go thinking that just coz you got an r33 your king of the road otherwise you will have your arse handed to you on a plate. By spending about $2,000 on your r33 just for basic mods (pod filter, exhaust, boost) you will increase the power by a good 20%.

Well what a fantastic day. I haven't had that much fun since the 2003 Summernats !! That's the first time that i've -really- been sideways (deliberately and consistently) in a car so it was a totally new experience for me. I'm still not very confident in my car on wet roads so I was quite surprised at the level of driving and how well everyones car performed out on the wet circuits (I won't mentioned the blue ford that somehow became burried in some mud ROFL). Thanks Brendan for letting me passenger whore all day it was awesome, quite a nice way to "run in" that new engine haha. Also thanks to Fatz for letting me passenger whore in the legendary Silvia, that thing just didn't give up. The morning session was alittle crowded but once afew people left in the afternoon it moved along at a good pace. Maybe next time it would be better to have a slightly higher price with slightly less cars. Edit: I forgot to take pics on the day (was too busy having fun and getting sunburnt) but I did manage to take a 3min movie clip of the last drift session that Fatz performed so upload it asap Fatz.
