So back to the original question... How much would it cost to have just the ex cam gear fitted and then set to -3 or -4 or whatever it is? (ie no dyno or ecu tuning). No point getting an ex cam gear -yet- if its going to cost as much to get fitted as it will to buy it.

Anyone used the whiteline camber kit? Im wondering how much difference it would give on a track...

Yeah its crazy how quick cars are getting these days. Afew years back (2000ish) you'd buy a skyline, whack on about $3k of mods and nobody could touch you. Then car makers decided to bolt on turbo's as a factory mod and then the big 300kw v8's came out. Now its pretty much driver ability. Still though i'll take my $25k 8yr old car over a $65k brand new v8 ute any day for the price.

I realise it won't be as simple as just slapping on afew coats of paint but it does sound hell expensive to have 4 parts prep'd and painted when for not much more (well double actually) I could get the entire car resprayed (which to me I would have thought would be -very- labour intensive). I'll be getting all the work done by a pro sprayer coz i've never done anything like this before. He hasn't seen the kit so just quoted me ($1000 for prep/spray/fit) on what I told him. The kit is all pre-made and pre-drilled etc so hopefully when he see's this it might come out alittle cheaper. If I had a ute or something i'd drop it all over at his work shop and get him to have a closer look. I had a mate offer to do the entire thing for about $500-600 who is now a sprayer but I seen some of his work from almost 2yrs ago and while it looked good when it rolled out of his garage a year on you can see the minor faults. I'm sure he has come a long way in the last 2yrs but I don't feel confident in him playing with my $30k car (this car he worked on was a $5k dato).

Damn I just read over this entire thread and reading the $$ you guys are paying to have full resprays etc... Looks like from about $2k onwards you can get an entire car done. Its gonna cost me $1k just to have: sideskirts (400R), rear bar with sidepods (400R), standard rear wing removed and replaced with a GTR rear wing all painted and fitted. Doesn't seem right.... What prep work needs to be done on my brand new bodykit thats never seen the light of day let alone any form of paint ?
