  6. Duncan im surprised with the amount of trackwork that u do that u havent tried the RB74's. I think you will be quite surprised !
  7. I'm getting mine cut and modified when My 400R sideskirts and rear bar get fitted.
  8. I do but not very good pics and none with the wheel off showing both the caliper and rotor (yet). These will have to do for now... http://skylines.pnc.com.au/pics/padchange/caliper1.jpg http://skylines.pnc.com.au/pics/padchange/caliper2.jpg
  9. and i still get scared sometimes while using the stock turbo and stock ecu on 203rwkw. . . only in a straight line do i flatten it
  10. I would highly recommend Race Brakes (Melb). Top notch service in Sydney and it cost me $40 to have all 4 rotors and calipers sprayed black (with the nissan symbol sanded back). www.racebrakes.com.au
  11. err thankyou, haven't taken any pics in awhile actually. I'll be taking some more after the Nismo 400R kit goes on.
  12. Seems like the turbo of choice, wish I had $1800 to spare. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...&highlight=2530
  13. Well it was Greg that talked to me about the Master Cylinder. Im very very happy with their service its not like they have tried to rip me off or anything they just forgot to mention this re-sleeving deal (which for all I know they may have a good reason for not mentioning it). My back brake pads are still squeeling from when they were contaminated with paint so I might get em to replace those pads coz I can't stand the squeel from <20km/h. The biggest problem for me is just 3-4days without a car. I hate being driven around by my dad (thats if he can). Oh well hopefully this time next week everything will be 110%.
  14. Greg and Steve,
  15. Im just alittle peeved that they didnt do that in the first place. I woulda rathered my car been their for the extra day and pay an extra $100 or whateva and have it all done to now have to wait another week before I can have it done. They also told me that rebuilding them couldnt be done and neither could getting an aftermarket master cylinder and now i discover those whole bore/hone thing. Infact I might get it done at Better Brakes in Penrith 100m from my office. That way I dont have to organise transport down to Wetheril Park n back -again- thats the most annoying part. I got the money to do it right -now- too so its all systems go just a matter of time.
  16. Just went spoke to my "Better Brakes" down at the local work shop during my lunch break.... Told him my recent upgrades and the problem im experiencing and he suggested a getting my Master Cylinder rebuilt with a "stainless steel sleeve". RaceBrakes only replaced the seals etc but did not touch the Cylinder shaft (??) afaik. BB explained that the amount of pressure in the cylinder shaft can be well over 250 bar and with all the heat and pressure i've generated it could have damaged this. He said their is absolutely no need to get a brand new Master as all that can be damaged is this shaft. To re-sleeve the shaft they drill it out and then fit it with a stainless steel shaft and make it all perfectly smooth again. He said the aluminium can flex and bow and allow pressure past where the stainless steal can't. To do this means 3 days off the road (master gets sent into the city to be done) and about ~$260. (compared with ~$500ish for a brand new genuine nissan master cylinder). ...the plot thickens...
  17. RaceBrakes use Goodridge Braided Lines. Cost me 4x $90 just for the front lines + 2x $30 for the GTR T-Piece.
  18. Well I'll be getting either RaceBrakes or another shop to do this.
  19. Re-bleeding the master cylinder I can use the current brake fluid right ? (its only 3 days old). Edit: I've used 3 bottles of brake fluid this year
  20. :boobies2: .....on the house.
  21. Yeah they are about 1km around the corner. Had a friend that went there at the beginning of the year and they didnt fix something correctly and well that ended with my mates Dato 1600's rear wheel falling off at 60km/h ripped the rear guard off and destroying his suspension (that was a nite i'll never forget, especially when at 2am in the morning no tilt trays or tow trucks want to help out) so i've sorta kept away from that place. Pink slip today then maybe tomorrow arvo i'll get a 2nd opinion and then either order the genuine nissan master cylinder from japan or... do what the 2nd opinion person says.
  22. Nah im not expecting too much. Right now with a 'repaired' Master Cylinder when approaching lights if i pump the pedal softly twice it is then rock hard straight away and the brakes are absolutely fantastic, minimal pedal action required for maximum stopping its great (exactly what I expected with the brake gear I have, including braided lines). If I don't pump the pedal twice before applying full pressure the pedal goes about 1/2 way down before good pressure is applied. After I have done 3-4 fairly hard stops (ie; 80km/h -> 30km/h) the pedal goes all the way to the floor before any pressure at all is applied (the pedal is still firm but not until its alllll the way to the floor). Well thats exactly what I thought too but obviously thats not how it works. I'm very tempted to take the car to the place where I purchased the DBA4000 Rotors from just to explain my situation and get a 2nd opinion. (My contact their is actually a customer of the company I work for so he treats me right and I treat him right ). With the amount of money I have spent on this setup im certainly not happy with the performance yet.
  23. Ultimate = ~ 80-380c RB74 = ~ 0-500c I've used 2 sets of Ultimates just for street driving and now using RB74's on the front and Comp 2's on the rear and even with a busted master cylinder I think they are still better than the Bendix Ultimates. Speak to RaceBrakes would be my suggestion. You may even get a discount for mentioning SAU (as I did, around ~10%)
  24. As an idea... a workshop where i get some stuff done is going to charge $1000 to prep+spray+fit.. sideskirts, rear bar, rear wing.
