  1. Franks car is yellow, my car is red... no red being faster is not a myth
  2. ahh c'mon u only managed to ruin 1 half of the tyres Turn the wheels around and put em on the opposite side for the next trackday so that you can even them out.
  3. Found this when I was looking for some heat ratings (which my results were disappointing) and thought it might be a good guide for others. http://www.autospeed.com/cms/A_351/article.html
  4. Some interesting info about brake pads: http://www.autospeed.com/cms/A_351/article.html
  5. Without a doubt 1 of the best cruises i've been on even if i did leave 40mins after everyone else and still manage to catchup (no I wasn't speeding just went the shorter route). Sunny on the main straight grid at Mt Panoroma, sprinkling rain as we drove up mountain straight, constant rain at the top of the mountain, sprinkling again as we came down conrod and then 15mins out of town (back towards Sydney) its bloody snowing. Only in Bathurst *shakes head* Also funny watching 20 blokes trying to stand around 2 BBQ's trying to source whatever heat can be gained while Mario is cooking his ... err sausage :bahaha: while it was 2c with a nice windchill. Awesome day, just wish I could have got some pictures of Mt Panorama and the snow.
  6. They are the DBA 4000 Clubspec rotors that were offered in a groupbuy here about 3-4mths ago. $900 installed.
  7. I had some spare time today (errr boredom) so thought I'd take my wheel off and see how it all looked. From the instructions above (thanks guys) it doesn't "look" all that bad, quite simple infact (well the front atleast, I haven't looked at the back yet but it sounds even easier). I took some pictures incase anyone else reading over this thread gets alittle confused by the instructions (they didn't make much sense to me until I had a closer look today and now they make perfect sense). (larger pics can be found here) I'll order some of these RB74 that some of you are raving about and attempt to change the fronts and see how it all goes.
  8. I have a full set of GTS25T Rotors for sale: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ighlight=rotors
  9. pics can be found on my website here: http://skylines.pnc.com.au/ BIGPSI if u want me to remove this link just lemme know.
  10. Actually their is a regular Van driver at the drags (wasnt their on 23/7 tho) and he does nice times too i believe. Think like 12-13sec.
  11. Pretty much the only thing stopping me is the nerves... Once i can get past that i'll be there every 2nd Wednesday. Oh I also gotta find out about my tyres (filled with nitrogen) ie; letting them down, pumping back up etc. I don't really wanna spend $10 getting them filled up every 2wks.
  12. Buy a set of pineapples for the rear suspension. You can have em fitted for about ~$175 and this will dramatically improve the rear 'squat' of your car.
  13. Interesting topic and a nice bit of reading... Are there any disadvantages of using an aftermarket fuel pump when its not required? ie worse fuel mileage etc, etc. What I mean is the standard R33 GTS-T pump is rated to '300bhp'. Now im not sure what 300bhp is in rwhp but im guessing it would be around ~250rwhp which is about ~190rwkw (am I even close??). Now @ 7psi (~190rwkw) power delivery is perfectly smooth from 0km/h through to 190km/h but @ 12psi (~203rwkw) it sorta surges alittle when i put the foot down and pops n farts alittle for afew seconds, its certainly not smooth. Im not using any aftermarket engine management except the standard ECU (waiting to go the full hog to a PowerFC) but I know eventually i'll need a bigger fuel pump for future mods anyway. Would increasing my standard pump to say a Nismo RRS40 (175% more than standard so around ~525 bhp) for $325 fix this problem.. cause any other problems etc etc? I'm not mechanically minded but just trying to learn using the info from this site.
  14. If you need another set of stock R33 Brake Rotors i still have mine for sale... http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ighlight=Rotors
  15. depending on your other mods for me... 7psi = 190rwkw 12psi = 203rwkw So i'd probably expect 10-15rwkw difference.
  16. No point getting any type of management system until you have done all the basics: Full 3" Exhaust Pod FMIC Boost Controller = ~$3000 Otherwise you'll spend just as much getting your PowerFC (~$1500 + Tuning) re-tuned after each mod as you did buying the PowerFC. Besides some cars dont require any management systems to get good power especially in the early stages. If your talking in rwkw (which is the only measurement i sorta understand) then... Stock Exhaust -> Full Turbo-back 3" Exhaust = ~15rwkw 7psi -> 12psi = ~15rwkw Pod filter = ~5rwkw
  17. Whats a trackday without those Monaro drift brothers ?
  18. Interesting... do you know the costs involved to get this done? The HKS has come down in price by 25% in the last 3mths which I have had my eye on and is looking pretty nice at this stage (both price wise and physically looking).
  19. In limited knowledge i'd be doing: * Full 3" Exhaust (front/dump/cat/cat-back/muffler) * Pod Filter (with cold air feed) * FMIC (keep things running cool) * Pineapples (better rear end squat) * Quality set of tyres (no point having power if u cant put it to the ground) * 2 stage boost controller * Ex Cam Gear Should be 165+ rwkw from that and will give you a nice kick in the pants for a month or 2.
  20. Nice results gjb977 !! Tell me more about this Carbon Clean.. Whats it do? Where does it go? How much does it cost? What does an Ex Cam Gear cost to be installed and tuned (roughly) ? They are quite a cheap mod it seems: Apexi: $142 HKS: $153 OS Giken: $293 Tomei: $199 Trust: $171 I love these cheap mods with slight power increases, the type of mods that many people skip and jump straight in for the big turbo's etc. (JimX maybe we could order 2 cam gears and have em installed/tuned at the same time/place) I'm currently at 272 rwhp and confident that with some small mods ($$) I can crack 280 rwhp from my basic setup. Hey Frankie not bad power for the mods you have
  21. Nice pics, anyone got some laptimes? Carlo: How are your tyres holding up now after 2 trackdays? Also your brakes how are they? (what pads?).
  22. Damnit knew i shoulda borrowed a helmet from someone seemed like the night to start my 13sec Drag Racing Career.
  23. He was? Don't think i seen him... did he run his car ?
  24. I went and watched and i have to say it was without a doubt the best Wed nite drags i have been to in 2yrs at EC. From 8pm-10pm their was only 1 mishap which took about 10mins to fix (t'was ok though coz a cute chick was nearby so i kept myself entertained). Not sure who was who out there but i'd like to comment on * Black R32 did a 12.2 which was a very tidy run. * Yello Kingswood that did the loudest smokiest burnout i've seen since last Summernats at Canberra * HR blue Holden doing monnnnster burnouts followed by 9sec passes mmm Great nite.
