  1. BBC Pre-Race is on... DC: "Ferrari fags, err Ferrari flags"
  2. Gonna be some late nites this week in the dark preparing things. Got a list of things to do a page long and only have 1hr/day to do it in the dark
  3. I think from memory my 6L ute got 14L/100km last trip to Wakefield. Coming home despite being downhill (uses cylinder deactivation heaps more which results in 7-10l/100km) I tend to use more fuel because of the extra overtaking.
  4. splash out on a uk proxy service Shaun
  5. That's the idea, if they come full im bound to have the right tool for the job 98% of the time instead of improvising by using the wrong tool from multiple brands/sizes. The 2 reasons I like the tool inserts (especially the Kincrome foam) is that its extremely easy to notice if a spanner or screwdriver is missing just by opening the drawers and it's also easier to grab the exact size required rather than sifting through a dozen spanners laying in a drawer. Even if they were to break they can easily be ordered from Kincrome. That is quite true, hence why i'd only buy a big name brand. I've been delivering Kincrome tools for 7yrs to various shops in the west and from talking to the staff at these shops not once have they ever had Kincrome knock back a warranty repair/replacement.
  6. 65-70rwkw??? man I wish I had that sorta power..... I spent my last Wakefield trackday slipstreaming a Honda Jazz down the main straight
  7. Their are plenty of people that can help with driver training regardless of what group you are in.
  8. The kincrome sets come with these but Sidcrome don't, unsure about Repco as their chests (order only) or any other brands as they are the only 3 i'd buy.
  9. Been looking at toolchests lately, seems I need to spend atleast $5k to get a half decent Kincrome or Repco toolchest set although ideally up to around $8.5k Sure it would be cheaper to just buy the chests and add tools as I need them but theirs something nice about having a whole set that go together nicely
  10. Nice work on organising all of this Ando!
  11. Ebay and about $25 delivered. I like checking the difference in temps on my header pipes
  12. My problem is my wheel nuts are torqued up too much, rather than not enough so that will be of no use to me. The tools that Duncan/Neil posted up is what would be required to remove the nuts at home. If I had a 41mm impact socket im sure my rattle gun would have got it off.
  13. err Webber was very clearly drafting all the way to the point of impact, you dont follow someone left and right at 190mph unless you are drafting. Not impossible, just more difficult because the closing distance from the drafting is much greater which means the following car has to move out of the draft much earlier and this is what caused the accident. Webber is used to drafting the Ferrari and McLarens but the difference in closing speed with the Lola caught Webber out. 110% Webbers fault without a doubt.
  14. Pre-race BBC coverage starting at 9:10pm
  15. Spent 2hrs yesterday trying to get the front wheel nuts off my truck so I could fit some new brake pads, not even myself and 2 neighbours hanging off a long bit of pipe could crack the damn nuts. Seen these on eBay for around $400ish think I may need to invest (or just not use that mechanic ever again!!!)
  16. Qualifying Pre-Show is on...
  17. Update on entered drivers please - I need to confirm payment has been recieved for some people.
  18. From memory its 396x178cm
  19. I don't even think i'd need to modify the guards as their is heaps of clearance in all angles...
  20. Yeah mine is 13x6 where as standard width is 6'6 so once again in life im 6' short! To enclose my current trailer would cost no more than $2500 however i'd much rather a new 15x6'6 chassis with drop axles and build it up from that which will cost $2800 for the bare chassis + about $2500 to enclose it. The problem is I can't weld although my neighbour can and he is also retired so would just be a matter of drawing up some plans and paying him to do it (i've discussed it with him before). He isn't the worlds neatest welder but that is why i'd buy a chassis rather then get that made at home
  21. Time to revive an old thread... I've been considering selling my tandem car trailer and buying a proper enclosed trailer. The type i've been looking at are known in the USA (ebay) as 'cargo trailers' where they sell for around au$4k in 14x6 sizes but here they go for around $12-15k. Anybody had any experience importing a trailer from overseas, I realise that some things like lights, tyres may need to be changed to be registered however since the trailer is too big to fit into a shipping container the biggest worry at the moment is actually getting it here and the costs for that + duty and gst.
  22. Here is my first attempt with TrackVision overlayed on my video.
  23. Apart from cf what would be the next best material for a front splitter?
  24. He turns in earlier at T2 where as i turn in later and square it up too much he has a smoother flowing line.
  25. I went to Wakefield Park on Monday and after taking me an hour to start my little car (-4c on the trip down froze the poor little bugger) I eventually managed a new pb of 1:12.7 down from 1:14.4 with tyres that have seen 4 trackdays. It was my first time using the PerformanceBox GPS laptimer and datalogger which was a massive help. Knowing your split and laptimes as you go is really good information. I've done a speed comparison on my best and second best times of the day and their is no more than 3km/h difference at any point in the entire lap. The difference between my 12.7 and driver trainers 12.0 is no more than 6km/h however I did have better mid corner speed in some corners than him but he tended to brake earlier and get on the power earlier out of the corners. Here is a video of my fastest lap of the day: I haven't got the TrackVision software working yet but my top speed on the straight was only 160.9km/h I really need to work on turning in later on the last corner and deeper under brakes on the first corner. Here is a picture of my lines for this lap based off the gps co-ordinates:
