I was waiting for Natsoft to be updated with the session 3 laptimes, which it now has I've got 2 (1 lap each) videos of Stuarts car from when he was just tuning and 3 full session videos of my car in amongst the traffic. They are super large files so i'll wait a day or 3 until my broadband plan is upgraded so it will only take me an hour to upload them instead of a week.
-
I will be sorting it out on Sunday when I see them all (going for a cruise to Bathurst) so expect the same guys as before to have their forms submitted a week from now.

Takes me a lap longer to get my tyres up to temp compared to a normal car because im lighter but they were still up to temp within 2-3 laps every session of the day. I actually had to knock pressure out of the rears towards the end of the day because they were going too high.
-
I had no problems with the track temps, infact my oil was only running at around 120c in the afternoon as opposed to 146c last time I was there in January (37c day temp tho). I might look at putting a larger oil cooler on it though as the engine is air cooled. Liz, I did get a tiny tiny bit sunburnt on the neck

Can we get the entry list updated please of people that have submitted forms and paid? I see alot of "im in" but only 2 people on the entry list. I need to book a few spots

Yup another superb CircuitClub day, these guys really know how to organise and operate trackdays. I was grouped with much nicer (slower) drivers this time round which allowed me to watch ahead instead of my mirrors all day. Was good to actually be able to overtake some cars this time. Managed to equal my PB (1:18) in the first session of the day which was weird because I felt like I was backing off due to slow cars infront the entire session. The session after I dropped that down 2sec to 1:16 with relative ease, mainly turns 3-4-5-6 up on the hill I think, using heaps less brakes and just using the gears to slow me up. The 3rd timed session I dropped it another 2sec down to 1:14 which I think once again was gained through the top of the hill and also the turn 1-2 kink/corner. Apart from 1 bonnet pin coming loose the little beast didnt miss a beat all day. I was also happy with my driving, no locked brakes, didnt go off the track at all or get sideways anywhere for the entire day. Only got a couple of video's as the battery ran out and I forgot both the chargers and also the quality isnt that great because I had the wrong protective case on it (too much wind and not enough engine noise). Also i've discovered that mounting the camera to my fiberglass isnt a great idea as it shakes and vibrates so much you will get a headache just watching the video. Got a small list of modifications to do before the SAU July event so bring it on!

Everything is good at my end, actually it was the fastest load up i've ever had (having the car on the trailer saved me an hour). Got some gadgets for you to play with tomorrow Stu. GoPro HD and a RaceLogic PerformanceBox

I'll be there around 7:30ish, id rather be 30mins early than 30mins late
-
I'll be located in the first row of garages with my red ute parked on the grass infront of my garage.......be good to get everyone grouped together to help each other out. The CircuitClub trackdays are brilliant because the sessions are longer, a typical trackday is usually 6-10 laps where as the last CC Wakefield day I did was up around 10-15 laps.

I hope thats all it takes, in which case I still have half a tank of fuel in it and half a jerry in the garage

If a car crosses the line marked for pit exit they get penalised so why arent they also penalised if they cross the line on pit entry (it's just as dangerous if not more dangerous). That would mean that atleast Hamilton and Alonso should be penalised. Button should be penalised for a dangerous restart (as 1 of the commentators pointed out the exact rule which he broke). I wouldn't say that the entire race would be good to watch on replay but certainly the 2 or 3 laps of Schuey vs Hamilton was good racing.

This weekend is a long weekend?
-
Yup remind me during the day Stu to hook my camera up on your car, I wanna get some inside and outside video.
-
Gonna be another last minute effort to get everything ready as I have zero time during the week to test anything or make adjustments grr.

I like the traditional night time cruise although it would be good to eat at the pizza joint for an hour or so and then cruise on up to Palm Beach, seems as though everyone disappears soon as they get their pizza order.
-
Yup he was talking to the main comentators on a different channel, was quite funny some of his comments "just add water". The few laps of racing between Hamilton and Schuey about mid race was quite funny, that's the only time i've seen anyone try and drive Hamilton off the track (instead of Hamilton driving others off the track when he completes an overtaking move). As said above, Red Bull will lose this season themselves!

Don't watch the OneHD coverage or the Ch10 coverage because I want to neck myself everytime I hear those 2 dull commentators (and now a 3rd). I either watch it live on my pc via a UK Proxy with no ads and an extra 1.5hrs coverage or I just download the entire BBC coverage an hour after quali/race and watch it the following day (about 4-5hrs coverage for quali+race).

I'd rather have better lap times than good fuel consumption any day...
-
In the 12mths that i've had my little car i've done 4 trackdays and 1 skidpan day. My expenses have been (approx) Entry Fee's: ~$950 Tyres: $280 (6 tyres) Fuel: ~$160 (~110 Litres) Oil: $40 (5L and used 200ml) = ~$1430yr = ~$28wk Obviously that doesn't include the $30k purchase, the $45k tow car and the $3k trailer
-
That's right, less of my right foot on the brake and more of it on the throttle.
-
Yeah I did the last CircuitClub event at Wakefield day earlier this year (Australia Day). That was my first trackday where I could get in the car and just drive it all day long without needing to adjust anything. My best was 1:18sec so need to find quite abit of time somewhere hehe...
-
Just send Jayne an email via their website, she is quite fast to reply.
-
My car is still tied down on my trailer from the last Australia Day event at Wakefield where I did about 50 laps in 40c heat with 145c oil temps Haven't started it or put the battery charger on in over 2mths - hope it still works

Most of it depends on what actual track car you decide on as to how much it will cost to maintain. The less it weighs and the less power it has the cheaper it will cost to maintain. I went the dedicated track car way and to be honest i've had it for a year now done 4 trackdays and a skidpan event and felt so guilty about not having to do anything to it at all that I topped up the oil just for the hell of it.
