  1. Home from work already, hrmmm to go and try n get in or not...
  2. More testing pictures...
  3. You better start unwrapping 1 of those tarps now then big boy if u wanna be ready...
  4. Get him in there now and get RB out. Let Senna start off with Brawn right from the beginning. Slow ass Button can develop the car and Senna can score some points and nudge some tyre barriers along the way.
  5. North Sydney p00f
  6. Hrmm could be a go'er, i'll try n get my thing ready by then so i can use this day to learn how to get out of first gear.
  7. I think i'll have the same braking point issue in my little car.... approach the corner, hit the brakes, then realise I have another 50m before the corner starts and get back on it again
  8. I have a brand new Sparco ProAdv fixed back seat which I bought directly from the Sparco Distributor and I will accept $900 for it (rrp $1399).
  9. $120 for EC on a saturday, that can't be right!
  10. That would be a lot more fun than the gts-t, what are the engine/brake specs?
  11. Why do servo's need publicity? When you are out of fuel you have no choice but to fill up. The only message the operate will be sending the oil giants is "send me another tanker full of petrol"
  12. It's quite funny when these stupid western suburbs servo operators do this because all they are doing is losing money on every single tank of fuel, yeah... that will show those oil giants who is boss!
  13. Might be the best 1 yet since NFS1 back in the Pentium 100Mhz days.
  14. Must have been a bargain price if Mr Brawn could afford it. Now all he needs to do is sack both of the grandpa drivers, sign Michael Schumacher and another young german (has Vettel got a cousin that can steer?) and Honda will finally earn some points.
  15. I need to fit the harness (got the eyebolts yesterday), then adjust the seat slightly, I need to get the steering column shortened 10cm and the steering wheel + quick release need abit of work, umm then just give it a clean fill the tank to the brim and its ready to go. As for first outing im not sure, I have 6wks to find a rental due to my parents selling this house on the weekend so that has priority at the moment so it will be atleast 2mths before it is on track. Weight is about 540kg so 650kg with me in it. The 180hp Hayabusa definitely would have been the preferred choice but ill use the 125hp Yamaha to allow me to get used to how it handles etc then next year put a bigger motor in it.
  16. About $30k
  17. If you were to import 1 now with the USD down the drain and fit it out like mine you wouldn't get any change from $40k.
  18. Well a little over 6mths ago I decided it was time to sell both my GTR Skylines (stockish weekender + circuit car that was still being built up after a blown engine) and go in a slightly different direction to get my trackday thrills. I wanted something that was cheap to maintain, fairly fast and a whole lot of fun. Something that I could roll off the trailer, add fuel and hoon around all day then take it home and leave it in the garage for a month or 2 with absolute minimal maintenance and I think ive found the perfect answer. The result was that I ordered 1 of these from USA through an Australian distributor (Aussie Racing Cars). It is basically the american version of a miniature Nascar powered by a motorbike engine (in this case a 1200cc Yamaha). Long story short is due to the USD crashing I ended up with buying the shop demo car (1 of 2 in the country) and it came in 100% ready to race condition. I'll keep this thread updated with plenty of pictures of my own personal modifications, trackdays, supersprints, hillclimbs, skidpans etc etc. I'm not very mechanically minded so dont ask too many technical questions Arriving home with it for the first time. Brand new 13ft tandem trailer and 4x new 2500kg hook n keeper ratchets. Bonnet off and sitting in the garage: Front right suspension setup: Uses Formula Ford tyres: Rear end, fuel cell, 500hp diff with interchangable ratios: Pitcrew: Took the shell off for the first time yesterday so I could give it a good clean and also get in closer to modify afew bits:
  19. 190% agree that this event should be Japanese cars only with Japanese sponsored workshop cars and private entries.
  20. I dont mean they go there to sell products, its more about them supporting the customers that buy from them by showing a presence and standing by their products.
  21. You'd be surprised how many in the police force can't actually drive (ie shouldn't even have a license) a local guy couldn't even reverse park when doing his training last week.
  22. Wasn't too bad, Saturday would have been better but I was busy. I'm still amazed at the lack of Trader stands for an event like this (but then again Summernats is no different). Rocket Industries are 1min away and they don't even bother showing up considering no doubt half the competitors would have bought from them.
  23. Well unfortunately due to the dollar dropping its ass over the past 6mths you won't get 1 of these for under $40k on track, because of this the Australian Distributor has put it on the back burner until the dollar goes back to something respectable. However for $40k you are starting to get into low end Radical territory which would be a nicer option Here is the website for the American Manufacturer: www.babygrandracing.com
  24. This is cheaper than buy+build a dedicated r32 gtr which I was doing before I sold it and bought this. It's also very basic underneath which is great for a mechanical novice like me, and if the motor blew it would be cheaper to just buy another standard engine than get it rebuilt. It's also faster than the r35 gtr around Oran Park so im happy with that pace for now This will use less fuel in a day than what my tow vehicle will to get me to the track and will be about 4000% more reliable and fun than a gtr. I wanted something that I could push off the trailer, have some fun, tow it home and park it until the next outing, not like a car which always needs more brakes, better suspension, more power and less weight that you could easily spend $5k on after each outing. Who knows, might get in it and not like it at all, thats part of the experience.
