  1. None, it is just for private trackdays, skidpans, hillclimbs etc. I don't have the money to go in any category (if any actually existed) its purely for fun.
  2. Matboy is easy to find, apart from looking massively gay (with the walk to prove it) he drives a Lancer. Look for the big crowd of people, then look just to the side where that 1 car is by itself and you have found Matboy.
  3. Meh if I could get it down the driveway i'd go 100m down the road and annoy Buster with it
  4. Yup took 5mths longer than it should have because of the dollar crashing which caused a lot of headaches, long story short is instead of importing a brand new kit in pieces from usa (where they are made) i've bought there shop/demo car which is 100% turn key ready to race (well, if I could fit my fat ass into there sparco seat lol). Another bloke in Perth bought the other shop/demo car and that is all that is in the country and its likely to stay that way for awhile unless you want to spend $40k to buy 1. Because of that its got the same engine used in the actual Aussie Racing Cars which is a 1200cc 125hp 5sp Yamaha motorbike engine. Yup a lot less power than the Hayabusa engine ive had sitting in the garage for the past 4mths but atleast this car is ready to go and if I need more power I can always do an engine swap next year after i've learnt how to steer it. It weighs approx 540kg so it's not super light like a Radical or the Aussie Race Cars but its no 1500kg gtr, has a 1 piece fibreglass shell with removable engine/boot covers. Entry is via the hatch on the roof (like the american nascars have) has a normal pedal box, adjustable bias, autometer gauges, VL Turbo front calipers, VZ rear calipers with rotors from a Mustang, EBC pads and a fuel cell in the rear.
  5. Then also weigh up the cost of what if you round a bolt, break a part or a tool and cant get it back together, how much mucking around you will have to do towing it to your mechanic or getting a lift to work etc for a couple of days. Or drop it off at your mechanic in the morning, pick it up at lunchtime and pay a few hundred knowing as you drive out that its all done and your hands didnt even get dirty.
  6. Just got it home, havent even taken it off the trailer (neighbour is coming over after dinner to help) and im already posting pictures
  7. Or put up with it as much as you can, then get it fixed by a gearbox/clutch mechanic and get your flywheel/clutch/bolts upgraded at the same time as the labour cost wont be much more than just fixing the squeek.
  8. Yup its like the teams built the cockpit/suspension and they out sourced the front/rear wings to a local tafe and forgot to give them the dimensions...
  9. Bahrain '09 testing: Jerez '09 testing:
  10. Ahh aussie tv at its finest..... ch7 are showing Gilligans Island and other repeats instead of this awesome race (which if given tv coverage could be as popular as the v8sc).
  11. Posted before with the RBR launch.
  12. Hrmm 3 of the 5 ruined gtr's in this thread have had involvement by me, lucky i sold up and moved away from gtr's coulda been an expensive life.
  13. He will place so much load on the server with his posts in this thread that the entire sau server will go offline for 2 days No baby photo albums at duncans house, just albums full of broken rb26 parts...
  14. My effort in the same car 2.5yrs ago
  15. The "twisties" are currently under construction (widening them) so plenty of signs + construction vehicles around. The Hawkesbury lookout will only handle about 20 cars, the carpark across the road will handle about 20 more. Also, it's called Yarramundi not Yellowmundi
  16. Going in for paint........but you will add a green tyre barrier mark to it just like last time...
  17. I'd have more respect for Webber if he actually binned his car having a go (like DC with his up the inside and over the top type moves) than just sitting back and happy with a 10th, no points and a waste of even turning up.
  18. Drop it over to me, i'll do some testing over the next 2wks and make sure its ok for you...
  19. Are you guys driving convertibles or something?
  20. Nice and tidy runs Adrian, better than 99.9% of other drivers on track...
  21. I've also had a flat battery when the cops were walking around issuing defects
  22. Anyone see me tonight in my fully sick hiace on my way to the driving range?
  23. So you use the DL1 + suspension sensors to measure the difference in suspension travel caused by varying levels of downforce generated by different front/rear downforce components? Or am I missing something...
  24. What data logging tools are available and from where?
