  1. I got up early, got ready, thought i'd check online to see if any rain was coming only to discover predictions of 36c so I jumped back inbed instead. I didn't feel like paying $110 to stand in 36c heat all day. Whincup certainly had it pretty easy in R1. I'm still not sure about Tanders false start, did he get pinned for flinching or for jumping the start because if it was for jumping the start whomever was behind him got a better start than he did without a penalty. I can see why Skaife is finishing up his career, constantly getting mixed up in other peoples dramas. Apparently Frostys radio was broken and he didnt hear the call to leave after Skaife went past.
  2. Well it would be cheaper for you to drive and pick it up yourself (i'm not kidding). The problem is most of the bars won't be straight and lots of different sizes so packaging it up will be near impossible except for some bubble wrap. It's more the weird dimensions than the actual weight (i'm guessing about 100kg) because the costs will be worked out on the total area of the bars rather than the actual dimensions and weight of the pipe itself. Try and get a large cardboard box from a local car dealer (manufacturer not a used car yard) that they package bumpers/guards in and get as many bars into that box then just bubble wrap up the main hoop. Edit: TNT, Startrack Express, Toll Ipec Road, Direct Freight would be the companies to get quotes from first after you have packaged it up and got the dimensions + weights.
  3. Oh c'mon that was 1 race, Rubens and Jensen just don't have the fight in them anymore (same goes for Mark Webber) they have been around long enough and simply don't have the car under them to perform. Honda needed someone like Vettel, hungry to perform and isn't constantly blaming front end grip or balance or tyres blah blah somebody that just puts their foot down and gets on with it regardless of the conditions.
  4. The joys of having an LAC + RTA in the 1 suburb
  5. They held onto Rubens and Jensen too long, should have got some young blood in there like Torro Rosso did. Had they actually got some results (instead of just being the Minardi of '08) they might have hung around longer.
  6. Nothing beats a Toyota towing a pair of Nissans
  7. Shoulda bought mine when you had the chance, that thing had awesome compression. Or, you could borrow some parts off Buster to complete that GTS-t I just seen in your driveway
  8. She will be around for longer than OP will..... (construction mob moved in today to start digging up roadways)
  9. I have 3 spare bedrooms and a spare bathroom, he can move in here
  10. Tack it up then drop the main hoop down through the floor a couple of inches and weld up the top loop properly.
  11. Well considering the track was damp, they only get 4 hot laps per session and he had a busted fr cv I think his 1'38's were quite respectable.
  12. Yup, pity I can't forecast some decent weather though....it's bucketing down here.
  13. Ditto to above, it's getting better by the hour. Roads are dry, its bright and it looks like any rain still about is already over the city and is ocean bound.
  14. Light showers in the blue mtns all morning whilst working, just enough to dirty your windscreen. Looking out my living room window and its very overcast but is getting brighter by the minute and the roads are almost dry. At this stage it will be on.
  15. Just goes to show you don't need massive brakes, 4wd and 600+ hp to go fast around a track - hence why I sold both my gtr's and invested $30k in a similar type circuit car.
  16. Lets just hope the predicted thunderstorms and rain are finish by morning so the track is dry (plenty of thunder and light rain atm). If not drinkies at benm's till the early hours.
  17. Tried replacing your fuel filter and getting a full tank of BP98?
  18. Yup.
  19. Uh oh another case of SBS from circuit racing
  20. Yes passenger car tyres rated at 530kg each so thats 2120kg on a 550kg trailer with a 540kg car going on it - I have no problems with that. The spare isn't there yet because I only got the trailer a few days ago, drove it home and parked it in the garage and been busy since. I got the trailer fitted with Ford hubs so that my Toyota Hiace light truck wheel/tyres will fit. They go for about $150/set on Ebay every now and then. Edit: After walking through the pits of EC with Neil on Saturday and looking at the condition of most of the trailers (boat tyres/wheels, wooden slats, home built, 20yo rusted, etc) I have no hesitations about my trailer at all
  21. The tyres all have plenty of meat mr beer baron it's just the bad clarity of the pictures.

  23. Yup that's it, attention to detail of every inch of that car is an understatement. Not to mention the 1.37 was done on a damp track with a busted front right CV.
  24. That white R32 gtr in John's garage doing 1.37's is the cleanest gtr i've ever seen of any road or track gtr in Australia.
  25. Unlucky for Kelly, was wishing he would punt either Whincup or Lowndes off....
