  1. Here is my door as a comparison. I will be throwing some rivets along the bottom and up the 2 sides and also in the 2 vertical parts in the middle of the door. Their really isn't any weight in cutting out much of the door so i'd rather keep more so it stays rigit and just remove the glass + winder mechanism.
  2. I agree with the comments of some people treating it like a race however I also noticed many cars bunched up together tripping over each other. It's a sprint event - get everything up to temp, find some clear track and do a quick lap or 2 then back it off, get some more space then another quick lap or 2. I think some people treated it like a regular track day trying to get as many laps as possible when it was purely about laptimes.
  3. My interior has been in primer for 3mths - im getting used to it
  4. Webber won't have the pace for the McLaren, he will be immediately defending from the Ferrari (if he doesn't get passed by it at the first corner) and this will give Heikki a chance to grab a 3-5sec lead before running wide and having Kimi on his back until the first round of pitstops...
  5. Toyota are not interested in joining the series - they were asked only a couple of months ago.
  6. That info might be available here: http://www.formula1.com/results/season/2008/795/6531/
  7. Practice means nothing, the top teams would just be saving engines. Pre-Qualifying is up on streaming now.
  8. I'm not sure what the paint stripper would do to the plastic, just sand it with some fine sand paper.
  9. I think because he lost the engine during the accident rather than it failing and him stopping on the track he won't get a penalty.
  10. So you were 0.17sec behind after the first 60' which is about 0.4 for a 1/4 so your 11.3sec minus 0.4 gives you a 10.9sec and your mate has done a 10.89sec Get a set of R32 GTR standard rims with 255/50/16 MT Drag Radials and practice your launching.
  11. Spectator stands what the hell? The track is surrounded by hills that let you see far more than just 1 corner from every single point. You can even take your rug and some chairs and esky and lay back and relax which is something you can't do in the main grandstand. Imagine what $30mil could do to Wakefield Park, you could build another 10 identical venues so that an entire v8 field could actually compete on the same track.
  12. Of course not Neil, recorded the whole thing! Interesting news from Ford, I think it will give some new life to V8SC because they will be forced to change the category now. Can't believe that FPR got the deal over 888 although I think they have a big enough name to draw in new sponsors anyhow. I also think Ford should have dropped DJR a number of years ago (who cares if Dick has been with Ford for 35yrs, he hasnt got any results in the last 5yrs). Tander did well to hold off the 888 cars, bad luck for McConville and Skaife (again).
  13. A couple of price I got from Rocket Industries today that may interest you: ARP head stud kit = $382 ARP main stud kit = $241 ACL race series rod bearings = $73 ACL race series main bearings = $99
  14. P1 on at 7pm.
  15. Very overcast, light wind and light rain - just enough to make the track slippery.
  16. It will be your first 330' that is letting you down, compare that time with your mates XR6T.
  17. The cheapest and easiest way will be to just get your phone line hooked up ($30/mth) and get a cheap 512k ADSL1 plan with someone like aaNet for $25/mth so all up about $55/mth which is only about $15/mth more than using unpredictable wireless.
  18. No point of going to the trouble of buying a set of factory 16's just for drags if you only use normal street tyres on them, you may as well keep using what you currently have and save yourself $1500. 16's + decent street tyres + decent launch expect 1.6sec 60ft. 16's + drag radials + decent launch lower is obtainable. Last time I was at the strip it was 17x9's with badly worn (1/3rd of the tyre was slick) 255/17 nankangs and was still able to do 1.69's so maybe your suspension is too firm in the rear?
  19. Original R32 GTR rims with drag radials. Will cost you about 1500-1800 all up.
  20. What is the image of Sydney Olympic Park? All I see is a massive piece of land in the middle of Sydney that rarely gets used but cost the taxpayer bazillions to have built all for 1mth back in 2000.
  21. I haven't got any of my plugs but I do know that their are no 2 plugs in the same area of the car with the exact same plug (size or colour) so its near impossible to plug them into the wrong thing - well im hoping...
  22. I've been advised that the "nissan gasket kit" does not include all of the gaskets but to instead get an ACL kit as it includes everything. Also instead of using stock rods with tomei bolts why dont u buy some second hand shot peened rods with arp bolts for about $300 (in the forsale section often). Also get a "100,000km service kit" for about $450 which has the idle bearings, timing belt, cam seals and n1 water pump - cheaper than buying it all seperate.
  23. Just do a search for Jim Berry, he makes awesome clutches. I used 1 for about 8mths before my flywheel smashed but it was the best clutch ive ever used in my life. Not a hint of slip, not too heavy and can be daily driven without driving around looking like a kangaroo. My next clutch however will be a twin plate (probably a Nismo super coppermix).
  24. I just took these with my camera phone because I don't own a digital camera but the sun was being a pain in the ass so they look incredibly grainy and make out that its in filthy condition. I will take some more later when the sun goes down abit.
  25. $17,000 No trades
