  1. nah nah, just did work experience in year 9, came back for an after school job in year 11.... Just being around and seeing what breaks and how it's fixed is a great learning process... allthough working in the auto industry can be shitty too sometimes... I swear I have a tiny bit of breakdust in the back of my throat after today lol
  2. I learnt a little bit from everything I suppose.. I've just started my third year now doing odd jobs at a motor mechanics.. it's great because you can go and learn all the theory from books and internet sites ect ect, and then put what you learn into practice, and hear about about problems that are relevent to what you've learnt.
  3. yeah the blue ones will get you plety of cop attention though... stay with the red if anyone has a spare r32 light up panel lying around... PM me...
  4. I didn't realise Kiwi/Seaway were connected. I thought that seaway were a seperate business. Anyway, the problems I had were with seaway. They made a few accounting errors on the invoice that I was sent which had on it the shipping plus taxes ect ect... They had to be corrected twice before sending out the proper total that I owed them. (I was over charged aprox. $200)... Having said that, the staff member that I dealt with was very polite and helpful and always replied to emails promptly.
  5. mmm ebay. they come up every now and then under the search 'r32 skyline'. They usually go for 20-30 dollars not including postage.
  6. yeah my cars black too... I'm overseas at the moment and I just cut and polished and waxed my car, so its perfect. I didn't want to have the freakin cat jump over it while I was away so i bought the cheapest cover I can find, $40 at autobarn. It's not crap, it does the job, it's the same material as the green bilo bag as someone was saying before but it's very soft on the inside. The paint is really really smooth at the moment so it just slides right over it.. I don't think I will use it often though because as people said, if there's any dirt on the car it will probably get scratched...
  7. have you checked the actual switch yet? my passenger window switch in my r32 was cold soldered..... or the soldering has turned cold.. or whatever.. i resoldered.. and good as new...
  8. i remeber a similar thread of tihs nature by dox some time ago.........
  9. omfg. so boring. mass skyline withdrawal.
  10. great. oragnize one when im in malaysia
  11. the mirrors and antenna look pretty european..... but if your a european car manufacturer, why would you bring prototypes, or unreleased models to australia........?? Photoshooting?? Also has those european style plates.........
  12. I say you copyright those photos right away before they end up in the news section of a car mag.
  13. lol, thats no good at all.. so your compressor isn't engaging full stop??... if all else fails give it a crack on full cold mode.. hold the cold button for five seconds or something.. see what happens....
  14. Kym, did he do you for powerweight stuff, or engineering stuff?.. or both?
  15. C'mon people... HELLLLLP
  16. sorry about that kelly, yeah I live in the north east anyway. I managed to get there at about 9.. thanks to work, but I still got to say hi to a few of you which was pretty good, hope to see you all next time.
  17. also, what is there in terms of parking? where does everyone usually park, and how much does it cost??
  18. well! I'll be there.. maybe a tad late, but I can drive myself there this time.. mwahahahhhaha Where abouts do you live kelly? If your sort of around me or on the way there for me I might be able to give you a lift.
  19. That is very very hot, nice curves and very clean. I those rims have been my dream rims for a long time... I still haven't decided on a colour for them though...
  20. have you reconnected the speedo? (if you ever disconnected it at all)... if there is a disconnection here, then you will find you don't have any power steering...
  21. thanks mark. I noticed something new.. I can get it to blow cold air.. by setting it to 18 degrees but when I give it some stick something opens up and I get the hottest air ever (and I found this out on a very hot day too ).. I also noticed that if I put the climate control into 'full cold' mode it will blow the coldest air it can (not very cold, as I think I haven't put enough gas in) regardless of how much I give it.... just something to think about... Mark, usually if the gasing has been done properly they put some dye in the system so that leaks can be found, the dye shows up under a certain type of light.. the guy that gased your aircon will probably have one. Also, before it gets gased they usually hold the system under vaccum for about 5 or 10mins to see if there are any leaks... If this procedure was done, major leaks would have been found.... minor leaks might not show up though...
  22. I thought there was always quite a big difference between compliance and RWC. Compliance modifies the things on your car so that it suits the adr's.. so side intrusion bars, 'unleaded fuel only' sticker, fuel ristrictor, child restraints ect ect... whereas roadworthies are more things like, rotor and pad thickness, chips or scratches on the windscreens, tyre wear. I had 15yr compliance only, and I know that SEVS is stricter. But is it the resposonsibility of the compliancer to make sure that the breaks and tyres and windscreen are fine too??
  23. have all of you reconnected your reciever dryers? even if they're not gased it might help to plug them in as it's part of the system. I regassed mine yesterday, it's not blowing air nearly as cold as it should be. I think this is partially because of the heater/airconditioner actutor.. it dosn't seem to be connected to anything (noticed when I took out the dash) and theres nothing I can do controlwise to make it move.. anyone else have this problem???
  24. thanks steve L. Dezz, I wouldn't think it would be too much more, as I'm quite sure in the case of the RB20/25's you have to remove the waterpump/alternator, powersteering and airconditiong belts before taking off the cam and crack covers anyway. All they have to do is put new belts on when they are reassembling instead of the old ones, if you buy dayco belts I would say that the three together shouldn't cost much more than $70 give or take...
  25. could you tell us what the problem was in your original post?
