well if it was put on incorrectly as cubes previously mentioned, you can just take it off and put it back on properly. Check the belt for damage before you put it back on. there are 3 bolts you need to undo to loose the tension and then remove the belt: First is the long bolt, it's underneath and to the right of the PS pump, it goes in horizontally. you will probably have to remove a piece of intercooler piping to get to it. You have to loosen this bolt right up (don't actually remove it). The more room on this bolt, the further the distance of the pivot and the easier it is to remove the belt. The second bolt is pretty much directly underneath the pump itself. you WILL have to attack it from underneath by removing the tray first. This bolt holds and secures the long bolt in place. The third bolt is the pivot bolt. It's located behind the pump wheel.. There are holes in the wheel/pulley so that you can access the pivot bolt. Make sure that this hole lines up with the pivot bolt (by cranking the engine) before loosening the other two. The pivot bolt when loosened, allows the powersteering pump to pivot like a hinge.. you push it down and it sort of rollls inwards, loosening the tension on the belt.

the oil gauge playing up is common problem in the r32's.. I still never found out if it was the sender or the gauge itself, but don't freak if it says you have zero oil pressure.

you can stop the hot air coming through when everythings turned off, by pressing the recirculate button.. seems to stop outside air (thats running over the engine) coming into the cabin.. It's a temporary fix but it should help until you can find the real problem.............

take a look at this: http://www.powerenterpriseusa.net/main/eng...belt/nissan.htm It says there that the belt for the r33gtst is the 3PK845, Which means you there are 3 ribs and that it's 845mm long. You should be able to get a them from dayco no problems. I have an r32gtst and the powersteering belt length is correct from this site, but I had to change the AC belt and the length from the site (and many people saying they use the belt on SAU) seems to be too short. Just be aware of this. You might want to clarify the belt length, but you should be fine. Hope this helps

I think the cams card that we got with our membership isn't actually a cams membership, I think it's just proof of your eligibility as you have to be affilated for certain car clubs to be eligable to get your cams stuff... I think so anyway??

do Nissan happen to sell timing belt kits as well? You wouldn't happen to know how much they were?
-
I'm real keen to join in next year too... Do I need to have my proper cams license, or do I just come along and join in?

Thanks guys, I spoke to someone on the phone just then about it, and he said that they don't usually flush cars of my age (I can't remember what he said exactly) - for some reason..., It's not a good idea to run things through the system, he said instead just run it under vaccum for an hour or so, then regass.....

ok weird. I go into the diagnostic mode.... 2. The error code is 25, cool it's under cover. BUT -26 also flashes at the same time!? What the? the I press the heat button. It says "3" I can hear all the motors and stuff moving... then when It's done it flashes "30".. then it repeats the process.. shows three while it's moving everything, then flahses thirty... then I press the heat button again and I get the 41 through to 47 thing.. thats cool... heat button again and I get a "5"...(what does this mean??) then the 4 temps.. 1.27 2.26.5 3.27 4.22 The differnce isn't that huge so I think that the sensors are fine.. but there is a bit of random stuff as explained, does anyone know what this means?? Cheers.

If the air con was gased properly some dye should have been added to the system, so in the case of a leak you can get a special light (UV I think???) and it will show up along the piping somewhere. With the rest of the system, if I have it completely turned off, hot air just flows through. It only stops when I press the recirculate button. I've got the feeling this is one of the actuators that switches between outside air, and air flowing over the engine (hot air).. If I turn just the fans on, I get even more hot air.. does anyone else have this problem?

Importing An Engine From Japan

wooooah bargain indeed... I've had the rb25 at the back of my head for a long time now... It's just a matter of gathering some funds (as always). -

Ali, Can I ask how you went about finding the engine? And if you have, how you organised/organising freight? -
I've got a coupe, and it didn't even come with rear speakers, just holes.. but from instaling new ones today... I can't see why you couldn't disconnect them from inside the boot and remove the parcel shelf.. just yank it.. it has those clippy things... that's unless something is different in the sedan.. Good luck
-
thanks tharka, I ended up just buying pioneer 4 way 6"'s for the rear... and I'll slowly build it up later.... At the moment I'm running the rears through the stock booster amp from the back... to my knowledge this isn't a bad thing.. but has anyone done this before with poor results?
-
hey guys, Just a quicky: I have no speakers at the moment, bar the front drivers door (raped by wharfies), I wish to replace/put in, some speakers in the front... What is the sound quality difference between the aftermarket 6x4's and the 6"'s? Is it worth making the MDF spacers for the 6"'s? Or is it barley noticable and should I save my time and buy the 6x4's and be done with it? Cheers.
-
yeah the little grey box is the stock amp for the rear speakers, the front ones are internally amped. Don't know much about the rest.

I'm in greensborough/eltham/diamond creek... but I'd be happy to travel to someone who does a superior job
-
hehe, where do you live dezz?? around here? Or are you just tagging along to be "one of us"???
-
rofl.. well I guess your airconditioning is gased good!!
-
as said earlier, I will have my P's this time of year.. that day being wednesday (providing I pass).. So i'd be pumped... and 32 brother.. I swear I see you all the time... WAVE BACK!!
-
dezz, was it cold on the day you checked it? Because it may have just been blowing outside air (which was cold)... but yeah with mine being degassed and all.. I don't think they did it properly.. they just ripped out the canister and let all the refrigerent into the atmosphere.. the crackers didn't even bother to block off the lines.. Otherwise I wouldn't be writing this now and this thread would't exist....

Evening peoples, My car's being imported, and as many of you know part of the process is degassing the air conditioning system before it travels oversease (anyone know why?) I've heard that some people have special equipment to flush out the airconditioning system of dirt and any other crap that may have accumulated in the piping in the time that the canister has been disconnected and the pipes are left in the open. Before regassing the system I thought it would be a good idea to have it thouroughly cleaned out.. if your gonna do it you might as well do it well.. sooooooooooooooo.... does anyone know anyone particulary good who may be able to do this cheaply? Do most car airconditioning specialists have the required equipment to clean out the system? Cheers , and merry christmas
-
I'm not sure if 125psi is good or bad, but I have heard that consistency across the cylinders (as you have) is a good thing).. sorry I can't be of more help.

Great idea. I've been a member of the forums now for a little over a year, since then I've learnt so so so much and I picked up the confidence to import my own skyline. I also recently joined the club and am slowly putting faces to names.. All of you SAU people are so outgoing and nice, and It's good to feel so welcome at events and the like. My liscense test is booked in for the 28th (9 days!!) so I'll be able to come in my own car instead of scabbing rides of the rest of you. Thanks to those who offered/gave me a lift(kaz180, rrrage, nismoboy, ruffles). So thanks for a great year, I hope to meet more of you and join in on trackdays and cruises next year.
