  1. J_R32 yeah I got one its all explained in the above posts ^^^ For the price you paid for the car 9k driveaway sounds fantastic.... do you mind telling my how much all the other things costed? shipping, GST, stamp duty and compliance?? PM me if you wish, if you don't want to say thats cool I respect that. Thanks for the assistance
  2. check out this thread, has excellent information which will help you: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=35129
  3. woooooooooooooooooo that's insane!!!!
  4. hehehe, wow thats a while.. I think I've been playing for... 1 year and a bit now?? something like that.. so ridiculously addictive.. can't be on a computer without playing it...
  5. I always mark the mines now out of habbit.. but i find it useful when your up to the last 5 and you have to guess, but if you know exactly how many mines are left then you don't have to guess. the both buttons technique is thing I tried to explain before, it brought my times down like a sack of potatoes
  6. yeah 6 random squares sounds about right to me.. try to start at the top bottom or sides... stay away from the corners when you start. In other news I have a new smashing record for my intermediate time... 26seconds !!! YES!!!.. now I have to get a better begginer time of 4 seconds or less to beat a collective time of under 130 seconds..
  7. hmm i should probably work on my begginer times... I've heard of kid at school getting a 90something as well for expert but I don't know for sure.. The same friend I spoke about before with the 3 second beginner has a high 90's score for expert as well.. Damn.
  8. I told ya it was addictive!!!! ahaha, well say you click on a square and it says one. That means in the surrounding 8 squares, 1 of them is a mine. So usually, with the process of elimination you can mark out exactly where mines are with the right click and solve it. elbee111: If you wanna improve your expert times,... say you have a 2.. mark in the two mines that you know of.. then put your mouse over the number 2, then press both the mouse buttons together, it opens up all the remaining squares around the 2.. which saves you having to click them open individually ZigenGT: thats nice!!.. One of my mates has a 3 second record as well.. but I think the problem with begginer is that you need luck to improve your times.. like if the first square you click on opens up the entire thing but nice none the less!
  9. yeah you get good at it after a while... and POOMBA, the first square will never be a mine but the second square could be..
  10. so who plays minesweeper?... I've been playing for quite a while and it's the most addictive little game in the world once you get the hang of it. Would be interested to see other peoples times... mine are: Begginer:7 seconds.. Intermediate:44 seconds Expert:100 seconds it's becoming a habbit.. whenever im using 56k ill open up and a do a quick game while I'm waiting.. it becomes the ultimate procrastination technique , those who play it will know what I'm talking about...
  11. thats kangaroo ground - st andrews rd. Get to drive on it twice a day
  12. greg: where abouts in eltham are you talking about?? I love the kinglake/whittlesea road, but becareful of the black ice in winter... kangaroo ground panton hill is fun too, used to be 100k limit around there but now it's 80. Going out to warrandyte from research, or kangaroo ground has some fun twisties also.
  13. thanks guys, is forklift damage covered in kiwi's insurance policy?... I should probably get photos of the underside before it goes on the ship if kiwi does cover it.
  14. I remeber hearing about the 112 thing on the radio, and it said that unlike 000 it dosn't have the tracing capabilites so you should dial 000 first. If a person can steal an unmarked cop car, they could almost just as easily steal a marked cop car? Or maybe it's really easy to rig up blue and red sirens to your car... meh I dunno.
  15. Does anyone know where abouts the car is stored on the ship with RORO shipping? If it's open aired, or on the deck has anybody had any problems with a couple of weeks worth of salted air? If for some reason the japanese wharfies can't start your car, do they jumpstart or do they use a forklift? I've heard a few things about forklifts here.. does Kiwi insuarance cover any chassis damage done by forklifts?
  16. just out of curiosity, where abouts was your car when the plates where stolen? Could the clear plastic number plate holders be the ricey ones that light up?

  18. I Love the look of the trust front bar personally. But I'm not sure if it will look good with the gtst bonnet. Good luck
  19. I'm pretty sure you have to order from japan, and I'm pretty sure I saw funky give the number to someone a while back.. But don't quote me on either of them lol
  20. I looked into them... I don't think they are stickkers... I think the words skyline is actually cut out, there are little bits of plastic to replace it.. and then behind it is the EL stuff, like the lights they have on digital watches these days? You should see funky's light up panel.. it flashes up and down the skyline thing..awesome.
  21. GTST, I heard (can't remember where, could be BS) that compresor surge can include a stall and in worse cases a forward/backward jerking motion. But I take the the jerking motion thing back as I can't really back it up, In any case I know that the compressor wheel slows down in the case of compressor surge.
  22. So this explains the red "skyline" writing on the back of the gtst I just bought. someone told met he EL kits come in red also, so I was really hoping on one of those but better than nothing I suppose..
  23. Terry, I think I understand what you mean now, when the BOV wasn't tight, it didn't take much boost pressure to open the valve, hence it would vent whenever. So the BOV adjustment is loose, it vents the air in the pipes and probably almost all the air in the FMIC as the pressure is still high enough to hold the valve open. When the valve shuts again there air is still probably pressurised, but the remaning air's pressure is not stong enough to cause the turbo to surge (this is all in theory - so maybe not). Now that you tighten the BOV, there is enough boost pressure to open and vent, then as the pressure declines the valve closes. The remaining air in the FMIC however still has enough pressure to cause compressor surge (flutter) hence the flutter until the pressure decreases enough. Would I be right in assume that the you get a flutter under 3200rpm? andy25... I have no idea. But I assume that they open above a certain pressure only slightly... and a little bit more pressure they will open a bit more, until the valve opens all the way up... but you could be right by all means.
  24. ok, have a mate whos 33gtst's stocker has been welded shut and he gets the flutter. Vl's don't have a BOV hence they flutter (I think - correct me if im wrong). Terry: At what particular boost pressure does it vent lower or higher? If the BOV is done up tight, it should vent normally as the boost pressure is high enough to open the valve. Lower boost pressure might not be able to strong enough to open the valve and hence the flutter. Elizabeth: (without being argumentative) If the valve is too tight, then why would any air vent at all? What I mean is, if the valve is adjusted so that it will only open at a certain boost level, and that boost level is really really high. So say if your turbo isn't compressing to that level, then the BOV shouldn't open in theory? In terms of the backwards turbo thing.. it's called compressor surge, meaning depending on the severity of the boost pressure the turbo will either slow down lots, or start jerking backwards and forwards. Most people agree that it defineatly reduces the performance of your car (spooling times), but people debate often to if it actually damages your turbo as much as people say. I've also heard that it's worse for ball bearing turbos but I don't know why. I also saw in a thread that the supersequential is not to be confused with compressor surge, so perhaps this is the source of confusion. Someonestolecc: I don't know what GTST was saying about the plubback stockers in s14's and 15's I just assumed that would be the case. There has been a similar threads to this before I Did a search on flutter and here's two out of quite a few threads: also:http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ghlight=flutter http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ghlight=flutter
