    It wont have to come through a RAW. It just has to meet the state regs and you apply for a personal import plate.

    The number of personal imports is very small so i dont think the gov will bother changing the law.

    what you say is right but the thing is RAWS workshops dont make up the rules they have to work with them

    If you are in NSW and you need the number to get the car rego then you will have to take the car to the RTA and they will issue a new number.

    When the belt broke it may have taken a hose with it so check them all. Ive seen this happen before.

    It can happen, but it is very rare. Alot has to do with the engineer who does the report if he has a bad rep look out. We have never had a 15yo car go for a RTA inspection.
