Hey guys, Have a set of H beam Manley rb30 forged rods with ARP 2000 bolts complete. Used for sub 500k's and removed, in as new condition still. Also have N1 rb26 pump bought new and used on same motor, same k's sub 500. Chasing $200 for rods and $150 for pump, will take DD with suncorp only unless you can transfer money in at branch directly. Cheers.

I was looking at that pic and thinking exactly the same thing...you can easily see how this combined with poor harmonics could kill it. Which I suppose is why you hear about very few stock 26 pumps failing. Great discussion/thread but read every page of it.

Hi guys, Did a quick search but didn't really find what I was after. Basically I just want to know peoples opinion on metal head gasket installation, specifically tomei. I am helping a mate out with a 25 build, is it best practice to use hylomar on installation or not? I was under the impression they have a viton/butal coating which eliminates the need for this, I just make sure both surfaces are clean and good RA, then install. What does everyone else generally do here? Cheers.

Previous to taking it to the tuners you mentioned driving it on a rich tune. Well those bores are glazed to the shithouse, and all the valves indidcate a rich tune. It has not run in properly, and I would take a guess and say you have loaded it up numerous times prior to getting it tuned properly. I think you will find the rings will probably be OK but they have not bedded properly hence the low comp across the board regardless of which cylinder. There aren't any signs there of it having run lean. Drop the pistons out, give it a light hone without overboring, mic the bores up and check for roundness, then a new set of rings and check for gap before fitting.

Nistune is half the cost and plug and play. My personal experience was a lt8 on a n12, was OK. Mate had a ltx12 on a 2j and didn't rate it at all. But each to there's I suppose.

Is it an aftermarket exhaust? In that case why would you want to fit a factory dump anyway, it will then become the most restrictive point in the system. If it's a factory system then just hit up some importers if you don't want to pay for an aftermarket. Would be sub $50 I would guess.
