  1. Firstly, Im not your "bro". Lets get that out of the way. Secondly, your calling me an idiot? Do you want to know how many times I have rebuilt my motor? Once. That's right, I did it once the first time and I did it right, and it was a hybrid 30/26. I remember reading your other thread about oil squirters snapping off and thinking what the fck has happend there, so going back to my original question, did you take it back to the same builder? If so your dumb. Different gauges is not an excuse as to why you had a compression test and recieved totally different results. I mean where not talking a few PSI difference here, you literally went from one extreme to another which is just not possible regardless of the type of gauge, hot day, you name it. I mean why would you be using different gauges anyway? You would use the same comp gauge each time to maintain consistancy. If your an engine builder, and you do this for a living, you don't put rings in upside down. It's the most basic point of call and generally not something that is mucked up, even then it would not explain why you have massive inconsistencies in your comp results. I won't bother explaining why this is so because you most likely won't understand anyway. In short, your an idiot. Good day.
  2. Reading this entire thread makes you just shake your head, really it does. Seriously but, how the fck did you come to the conclusion that the rings are upside down without even having the head off? Why are your compression tests totally different from one another? Why did you oil squirters snap off the first time? Did the same person rebuild this motor? If this was an engine builder he would be out of business, end of story. I think someone else here had a go at building there own motor personally, and the whole thing has ended up in a shit heap. Best of luck building it the 3rd time lol.
  3. Where you that suprised? I mean really.
  4. You will fry that packs, then the ignitor, then the ECU. If you continue to run them that is.
  5. I am current running 22psi on a relatively high comp rb30dett motor. Standard head gasket. All I did was ARP head studs. Been like that now for 12+ months. I did start off with a cometic which leaked, pulled it off, went genuine and was all good, made no changes to block/head or torque procedure (torque values where obviously different between the two). The problem with the cometic is they have a rediculously stupid RA, so the block/head has to be near absolutely perfect or you can get water/oil contamination like I did. Had a tomei in a build before that, and mate went tomei, very good. I would recommed that over the cometic anyday. You get what you pay for. Obviously some have had success with them so take it with a grain of salt.
  6. Sounds errrr. If I was going to have it done it would be CNC, and by a pro, that or nothing. I don't think it's one of those things you can do yourself in the back shed, not well anyway.
  7. OK pretty much confirmed my thoughts. Thanks guys.
  8. Hey guys, I am currently running early 32 Nismo N1 turbo's on my rb30dett. Yes they are a dog of a turbo, but on the 30 with some cam gear adjustment are coming on reasonably well. Now I have the opportunity to swap them for rebuilt t517'z. I know both turbo's are 360 thrust (270's were replaced on the N1's on rebuild). Is it worth my time and effort swapping them over? is the t517z much better over the N1's? I am currently running 20psi on the Nismo's. I was going to go down the -5 route, and I might still yet, but the t517z would essentially cost me nothing to swap over. Cheers.
  9. bump $17,000 need a sale on this.
  10. Hey guys, Time to sell the beast. Item Summary: r32 gtr skyline with new rb30dett motor Location: QLD: Brisbane Condition: Used (Motor new as of 11/10/2010) Reason for Selling: Can't drive it Asking Price: $20000 Delivery Methods: PickUp Contact Info: PM me Extra Information: Here are some details: History: Car was imported from Japan with 98,000k's on the clock by a young guy who had it for 6 months, I then bought the car off this person and have owned it ever since. During this time I have probably put around 6000k's on the body (yes that's all). It has been off the road garaged for what seems like an eternity. I removed the rb26 motor out and decided to do a rb30dett motor instead which resulted in the vehicle having the below mods. I have spent in excess of $25,000 on the car on top of it's initial purchase price. Obviously I don't expect anywhere near that back, but the purchase price of the car would however be nice Mods below: 1990 r32 GTR Gunmetal Grey (Imported 2004 been on the road only a handful of times, was always being worked on) Body has 113,00k's rb30dett motor (Has about 150k's on it, so basically new build, still being run in as of 07/10/2010) Wiseco 11cc dome top pistons Eagle forged H beam rods Nismo rod and main bearings Ground crankshaft with grub screws and welded and machined long oil drive Fully balanced rotating assy Block Acid dipped, decked 0.8mm, all new welsh plugs, return oil galleries modified 1.5mm Tomei oil restrictor front, rear blocked 4WD Adapter plate (Early pro-engines type) r34 gtr sump and front diff with new seals Tomei MLS HG HKS/Tomei inlet/exhaust cams gears Fully recod rb26dett cylinder head, all new valve stem seals, valves seated, etc. 700cc blitz injectors Bosch Intank 023 fuel Pump (800hp pump) Hicas Lines modified to take fuel (Increased flow to front of car) Rear HICAS removed with TOMEI lock bar (Now uses a rb20det power steering pump with no HICAS) Genuine Nismo turbo's rebuilt by MTQ old as motor so new (60 front .64 rear) HKS 2.5 Split pulse dump pipes 2.5" from each turbo to 3.5" main to hi-flow cat to Magnaflow muffler with 3.5" outlet (Exhaust cost a shitload but looks and sounds great) N1 oil pump New rear main seal Custom pick-up with modified oil pump housing New rb30dett timing belt and genuine Nissan idler/tensioner Triple core Aluminium radiator New header tank K&N super flow pod filters Splitfire coil packs Apexi Power-FC ECU with Hand controller 70MM Justjap Front mount intercooler Blitz Spec-R Dual solenoid boost controller AEM Wideband AFR gauge with proper wideband bosch sensor (Had bung welded in for it) Defi style oil pressure and boost controller gauges (Do the needle start up like defi and go back to a digital controller) Veilside 340km/h cluster FET turbo timer New Nissan centre air vent HKS Kansai Torque split controller (Rare and exy to buy) Ogura twin plate clutch with new plates (Rebuilt with new plates with motor so a new clutch basically) ATMO vent catch can setup Nismo big bore clutch master Nismo braided clutch line Nismo braided brake lines Nismo front castor rods Nismo Adjustable fuel pressure reg New genuine Nissan fuel filter r33 gtr v-spec big bore brake master cylinder Whiteline upper camber arms with new bushes Bilstein height adjustable coil overs New sway bar bushes New battery New windscreen 18x10 Termist deep dish wheels BRAND NEW FALKEN 285/35 TYRES ALL ROUND LAST WEEK COST $1600 Tomei Oil sump Baffles Remote Oil Filter Locator 30 Row Oil Cooler In Dash DVD Player (Double Din with touch screen) Nismo short shifter Nismo racing peddles Momo old school racing steering wheel in excellent condition Made 270awkw at just 14psi on a very safe tune and with the 3ltr block comes on hard. Has plenty left in it but was not pushed as motor is still fresh, have been told 300rwkw should be easily done once another more aggressive tune is completed, all supporting mods for in excess of 300rwkw are all there. Can talk to tuner to confirm and have dyno sheet. To look tip top car needs skirts put on, and front bonnett/bar painted in gunmetal, I just don't have time with work and have spent enough time/money on it. The rest of the hard work has been done, and trust me it was not easy. Comes with genuine gunmetal factory skirts ready to go on. Just put 6 months rego on recently. Location is Brisbane 4118, message me if you wish to view it.
  11. Sounds OK to me. You only have to be out on in/ex by half a tooth to be out, which maybe why the CAS likes being clockwise. Turn it back over to TDC and just re-check your top/bottom markers.
  12. Hey guys, Well I have been very happy with my rb30dett so far and I love it. Problem I have is that 5th gear seems to run out of legs. Would this be caused by the diff ratio mismatch now? I am considering a 6spd getrag conversion, but maybe I can go to a 3.7 diff instead to resolve this? Not too mention it's cheaper. Just seems like it wants that 6th gear now when your at the end of 5th. Thoughts? Remember your talking to a diff/gearbox ratio n00b here.
  13. Just noticed your running an adjustable reg in the picture, do you know what that's set at? Adjust it until you get factory prime value.
  14. Yeah that's right what you have done, the rail is fed from the rear forward, 6psi there is a prob somewhere. Have you done a pump upgrade as well? With ign on, the pump should prime as normal, then the rail should stay pressurized after the pump switches off. Make sure this is happening as it could be a prob with the one way valve if you have done a pump install or something.
  15. Yeah would be interested to see the condition of the bearings. In any event I would be reluctant to re-use them. If your going spool rods then you will most likely need crank work/new bearings anyway.
  16. Keep saving and buy -5's. /End thread.
  17. How many k's have they done? How do you know there in excellent condition if there still bolted to the car? Cheers.
  18. Are they 87mm pistons? Still looks like a factory hone with that much lip on it, don't normally see that on such a fresh motor. Go back and look at my thread if you can find it, exact same pictures almost and symtoms. Engine builder totally fudged the piston to bore and gave it almost double on myn.
  19. I just went over pits and the worst I got in qld was steering wheel did not have a padded centre. Didn't even have a cover for the extra deck height, peekaboo timing belt lol.
  20. Hey guys, Time has come to sell my car, really do not want to do it but have other priorities at the moment which has forced me. ALOT of time and money has gone into the car, and I just want to see it go to a good home. Pics will be up tomorrow, for now I will list the specs etc. I won't say I am not negotiable, but be semi realistic with anything you put on the table. Like with all cars you modify yourself the list price puts me out of pocket quite a large some of money, but hey thats life and cars. 1990 r32 GTR Gunmetal Grey (Imported 2004 been on the road only a handful of times, was always being worked on) Body has 113,00k's rb30dett motor (Has about 150k's on it, so basically new build) Wiseco 11cc dome pistons Eagle forged H beam rods Nismo rod and main bearings Ground crankshaft with grub screws and welded and machined long oil drive Fully balanced rotating assy Block Acid dipped, decked 0.8mm, all new welsh plugs, return oil galleries modified 1.5mm Tomei oil restrictor front, rear blocked Adapter plate (Early pro-engines type) r34 gtr sump and front diff with new seals Tomei MLS HG Tomei inlet/exhaust cams gears Fully recod rb26dett cylinder head, all new valve stem seals etc. 700cc blitz injectors Nismo turbo's rebuilt by MTQ old as motor (60 front .64 rear) 2.5" from each turbo to 3.5" main to hi-flow cat to Magnaflow muffler with 3.5" outlet (Exhaust cost a shitload but looks and sounds great) N1 oil pump New rear main seal Custom pick-up with modified oil pump housing New timing belt and genuine Nissan idler/tensioner Triple core Aluminium radiator New header tank K&N pod filters Splitfire coil packs Apexi Power-FC ECU with Hand controller 70MM Justjap Front mount intercooler Blitz Spec-R Dual solenoid boost controller AEM Wideband AFR gauge with proper wideband bosch sensor (Had bung welded in for it) Defi style oil pressure and boost controller gauges (Do the needle start up like defi and go back to a digital controller) Veilside 340km/h cluster FET turbo timer New Nissan centre air vent HKS Kansai Torque split controller (Rare and exy to buy) Ogura twin plate clutch with new plates (Rebuilt with new plates with motor) ATMO vent catch can setup Nismo big bore clutch master Nismo braided clutch line Nismo braided brake lines Nismo front castor rods Nismo Adjustable fuel pressure reg Bosh 044 Intank pump with 14v re-wire and relay r33 gtr v-spec big bore brake master cylinder Whiteline upper camber arms with new bushes Bilstein coil overs New sway bar bushes New battery New windscreen 18x10 Termist deep dish wheels Brand new 285/35 Falken tyres all round as of yesterday Nismo short shifter Momo old school racing steering wheel in excellent condition Things that need doing are side skirts need to be put on. I have genuine gunmetal skirts there to go on which will be included in the sale, and the gaurds need to be rolled for the 285's (Just found this out). I believe it's fairly cheap to do this anyway. Made 260awkw at 1 bar. Has plenty left in it but was not pushed as motor is still fresh. At the moment it's pretty scary to drive just on 1 bar. Currently registered until April next year. Chasing $22k. Location is Brisbane 4118, PM if you wish to view it. Cheers.
  21. Will be interesting to see what it does with e85.
  22. Hey guys, I have a pair of Nismo turbo's for sale that came off a genuine Nismo r32 gtr. They have been rebuilt by MTQ about 2000k's ago and upgraded to 360 thrust bearings. Have no shaft play what so ever, made 270awkw at 19psi. I am chasing a set of tomie poncams type A or B to suit r32/33 gtr, will straight swap for cams. I have reciepts for rebuild too, or you can call them up and quote the serial number on the tag for info. Asking $1000 for both to cover cost of cams if I don't get any swaps. Pickup welcome in Brisbane 4118. Cheers.
  23. Personally I think half of your money probably goes towards the "rare" factor. If PFC is not in your budget, then why not Nistune? Plenty of good results and pricing is good, not too mention you could probably sell the SAFC you have now and be over half way towards the Nistune. My 2c anyway.
  24. Hey guys, As per title I have a Blitz Spec-R Boost Controller for sale. Unit looks almost brand new with everything in excellent condition. Exactly the same as this model here: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Blitz-Dual-SBC-Spec...=item19bf7e10e8 $600 on ebay, $600 thru justjap. Sell $500 ono. Pickup welcome in Brisbane. Cheers.
