  2. Hiya, Was installing a PowerFc for my R33 GTR but the ECU doesn't seem to fit in the brackets like the old R32 ones did. Just wondering if anyone had any suggestion or pics of how they mounted the PowerFc behind the kick panel?
  3. | penfold sorry dude i think i have only the right hand or left hand section left...perhaps the | part cloest to the boot lock also | the back , floor and 1 of the sides have already been taken Erm, have a look at the pic - its just that one piece on the right I'm missing? http://home.austarnet.com.au/myra/bootlining.jpg Cheers, Penfold

  6. The turbo is of a single turbod 300
  7. The mechanic has to give you the two options because he really can't see the extent of the damage without removing the head- so step one is removing the head. 1) Headgasket 2) Headgasket but may have gotten too hot before you realized (esp applies to chicks who drive till it stops) & slightly warped head. Either way its a pretty expensive exercise because its a fair amount of labour to remove the head. Fingers crossed but its important the mechanic checks coolant/oil hoses to check if thats what caused the problem in the first place. Cheers, Penfold
  8. That would be terrific especially if you could include your settings Cheers, Penfold
  9. I'd be really interested to find out your settings for the ID3 as I'm doing the same setup. Cheers, Penfold
  10. Well I'll try Milton tomorrow
  11. Staying in Toowong at the moment. Basically I'm looking for something in the range of 245-265 (fits on the standard R33 GTR rims) and $/performance. I got some Falken Azensis ST115 last time but I guess I'd give anything a go. Normal street rubber - its a daily driver but obviously something not to shabby. I think i paid $350 per tyre last time - someone mentioned Yokohama ES100's. These places had been mentioned when i did a search - Toombul Bob Jane, Quikfit at Newmarket and Yerongpilly, Keith for Wheels. Was gonna ring them all up tomorrow & get prices - but its handy to know which tyres your are interested in too.
  12. Just looking for a good cheap place in Brisbane to buy tyres. Probably 17inch 265s. ?? Any feedback would be great! Cheers, Penfold
  13. Grab the latest HPI magazines, I think thats exactly what they've been doing as their current project.
  14. Went into Nissan and they said they don't stock these items. Just performing the 100K's service. Heres the part numbers: AY140-40969- Power Steering Belt AY140-40875- Fan Belt AY140-40910- Compressor Just wondered if anyone knew where I could get them from? Cheers, Penfold
  15. Normal street rubber - its a daily driver but obviously something not to shabby. I think i paid $350 per tyre last time. I don't thrash the car much at all but las time I think I got aboug 10000km out of em. The back two seem to wear twice as fast as the front two. What size tyres will fit in the stock 17inch rims?
  16. Hiya, Looks like its time to bite the bullett and get some new tyres. Basically I'm looking for something in the range of 245-265 - I guess whatever will fit on the standard R33 GTR rims. Also, if anyone knows some good tyre places in Brisbane that would be great too. I got some Falken Azensis ST115 last time but I guess I'd give anything a go. Any suggestions? Cheers, Penfold
  17. Do those tyres fit on the stock GTR rims? Pics of tread? I'll be in Brissy next week so I wouldnt mind checking em out. But I wouldnt be back for another week & a half. Cheers, Geoff
  18. Thanks alot for the feedback. But still chasing up the Z32 AFM adapters - I think you can buy an adapter itself from autobarn but I will still need some piping. Cheers, Penfold
  19. These are the parts I'm about to have installed. Does anyone forsee any problems?? - 700cc Sard Injectors - PowerFC + handcontroller - Blitz ID3 dual boost controller - 2 x Z32 AFM’s with plugs - 2 x GT-SS HKS turbos - 2 x HKS split dumps - Tomei Fuel Pump - 260° Tomei Poncams - HKS Cam Gears - Trust 600 x 300 x 115 Intercooler - Trust Timing Belt - Cusco Catch Can Cheers, Penfold
  20. Hiya, just wondering where you got the Z32 AFM=> 80mm pod filter pipes. Did you buy them or have them fabriated? Thanks, Penfold
  21. Also, when you select the VG30 option for the airflow meter does it just automatically adjust the maps to compensate?
  22. Hello, I currently own a R33 GTR in relatively stock form but with a 3inch exhaust (turbo back), chipped ECU and Nismo GMax clutch. After a year & a half the performance bug has bitten me and doing an upgrade - HKS GT-SS turbos & dumps, PowerFC, blitz BC, 260° Tomei poncams & cam gears but also the required fuel pump, injector & intercooler upgrade. Now as the radiator hose recently split and resulted in a blow headgasket I'm looking at performing all the work here in Bundaberg (4hrs north of Brisbane). I was originally going to have all the work done in GC but as they are taking the head off & doing the VRS gasket replacements it would be easier just to install turbos, timing belt, cams & cam gears then. Going to get the head acid bathed & examined too. With a rough road tune I'll drive it to the Gold Coast to get tuned appropriately (no 4wd dynos in Bundy). I was wondering how much adjusting would be required to the base tune. The injectors would be replaced (444cc to the 700cc Sard injectors) so if anyone has an idea on the correction values for this, that would be great. Also, I currently have the stock 65mm GTR adapters connected via the HKS metal reducing pipe set to a carbon fibre cold air intake setup. So what I need is some similar 80mm piping from the 80mm Z32 afms to the 80mm pod filters. Heres the current setup without CF air box: http://home.austarnet.com.au/myra/filtersmall.jpg and the HKS kit off: http://home.austarnet.com.au/myra/hks%20pods.jpg I was just wondering what the easiest wasy to do this was - have them fabricated or purchase them from somewhere (but I have no idea who would stock them). Otherwise I guess I could leave standard AFM's until I take it to the Gold Coast - I'm assuming the car will be running fairly rich & shouldnt be hitting the limit as I'll be driving it fairly gently. Thanks for your help and time, Geoff P.S. It will be interesting to see what response and power we can achieve from these turbos.

  24. I wouldnt rule out a blown gasket - I can't believe you were still driving it. Unfortunately, if it is the gasket you will probably have to do the whole gasket set (vrs set which is about ~500) but its the labour that will cost (need to take off the head, etc). So if they do take of the head I'd look at what else to do at same time - cams/cam gears/timing belt/hoses etc. Have a look in the radiator - is there any oil in it? Have a look in at your oil - no water? Hopefully it'll be just a leak - but with Christmas it might be a couple of weeks to get fixed if its a gasket. But please don't drive it around - you don't want to end up with a warped head. So fingers crossed its just a split hose. But its one of the dramas with owning a a 10+ year old performance car. Cheers, Geoff
