  1. Thanks mate, will try loosening it first if not then I will give the stock one a shot. Does your car backfire/ pop out the exhaust often???
  2. No I mean its a chatter (almost like metal on metal). It used to make a nice flutter @ low rpm and clean pshh @ high boost like yours. But now its just annoying. I have tightned it all the way the its still a slow chatter. Not only that I hardly need throttle for it to go off... Like changing from second to third @30km/h and under 2.5rpm (on the boost gauge the needle is between 5-10vac) and there it is again.
  3. So you don't think its the O2 sensor then??? The car only hiccups on cruise (ie; hardly pushing down on the accelerator or when you start to back off) sometimes it may do it when you slow down to a stop without braking... The mixtures on the dyno appeared fine (4 runs). Could that just be luck, afm, o2 sensor, ecu or what???
  4. Alright boys here are pics of the setup and location of the bov. Never seen a standard skyline bov so would not know if it will hook up and if in the same spot??? Currently the vport is as tight as it gets but no good...
  5. Can anyone confirm the falcon O2 sensor theory on this site??? http://www.meggala.com/partcss.htm
  6. Is that max tightnening??? Cos I have done that and no change... Have not tried loosning it but that would be going backwards right??? Also why do people go after market if the standard one is so good??? Will it fit in exactly the same spot as the current one (will post pics tonight)???
  7. Do you know where I can find it here. There is so much info on this site, I wouldn't know where to start??? Anyone confirm the falcon O2 sensor theory???
  8. I never though about the O2, will definately try that. What are they worth do you know??? Also heard a rumour that you can use the falcon ef/ el sensors.... How true is this theory??? Also thanks Abo bob Its a good idea to swap and try before buying, just gota find the time to make a trip down.
  9. Nah man I bought the car with the bov valve on it. I wish I had the standard one so I could try it. What are they worth??? How do they sound??? Also do you think the standard one would reduce the popping out the exhaust???
  10. Yea resetting didn't help. I might have to dig deep and get an ecu, maybe then it'll be alright...
  11. Took it for a drive just then, same chatter low rpm.... higher rpm woosh....
  12. Yea I wish I could but being in a location like East gippsland, there is either utes or utes. I just took it for a drive now with the airflow meter resoldered, but no real change ( The stoopid thing is when I got it dynoed, the mixtures were fine, 4 dyno runs and all good!!! So no point in getting the Z32 meter without aftermarket ecu???
  13. Maybe you're right but i don't know enough to comment Do you know this for sure or are you guessing??? Could it possibly be that its the ecu rather than the AFM causing hiccups on cruise??? The problem has only been there since the new FMIC and CA intake.... Can anyone else confirm the Z32 AFM theory please???
  14. Guys, The setup on the car is exactly the same as before. The only thing done was the installation of the new FMIC. Other than that it is the same BOV as always running the same boost and same pod filter. Although I had to tighten the bleed valve after installing the cooler, cos the boost kept creeping 4-5psi at high revs. (don't know whether thats normal either???) But my concern is the slow chatter (like metal on metal sound) rather than the smooth flutter. Also at hight revs (redline even) there is no more clean pshh, but more of a flutter. Any ideas???
  15. Hmm, never though of that. Has anyone out there fitted one on their skyline with the standard ecu??? I have cleaned it out and also resoldered the contacts as one looked dodgy. Also disconnected the battery to reset the ecu. Will test tonight to see how it goes. But things never work out for me so will definately keep investigating.
  16. Hey guys, A while ago there was post here, where someone installed a new FMIC on their skyline and it really slowed the BOV flutter down. I couldn't find that post, but does anyone have any ideas to what is going on and how I can rectify the problem??? Mine since the installation of the cooler has turned to a slow annoying chatter, when gears changed at lower RPM. However occassionally it will be fine. I have unassembled, cleaned and lubed it up before putting it back but still the same... I am still running the same boost (9psi).... oh and it just comes on hardly any accelleration (boost gauge shows 5-10vac). My bov is a Turbosmart Vee Port Turbosmart Vee Port (pic attached) Any ideas???
  17. Anyone know exactly what I have to do to fit the z32 meter??? ie; is there adaptors out there??? where??? how much???
  18. PM and email sent
  19. I will try that, and maybe try resoldering the points again. Any one have step by step instructions on fitting a z32 meter to a skyline? Also curious to know if anyone has done this mod and how things have been running with it? Cheers
  20. Bump - Anyone else out there had similar probs??? Any advice would be appreciated.
  21. Cheers chris, just one other question about the meter from a z32. Is there any rewiring involved or is it a straight swap??? Marcus
  22. Thanks guys, just a couple more questions; How do you actually get inside the airflow meter to resolder it? What sort of hp is the standard airflow meter good for? (I currently have 250rwhp on 9psi) I've only noticed the hiccups since the installation of the new FMIC and CA intake...
  23. Hi all, I think I have a dodgy airflow meter as the car has hiccups on cruise. I have a R33 GTS-t series 1, and was wondering if you guys could help me out with the following; Do I purchase another standard airflow meter? Or is there something better available aftermarket? How much are they generally? brand new and second hand? Where can I get my hands on one? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
