  1. For anyone serious about wanting work, try these guys out. Put the effort in & once they realise you're serious you should end up with as much work as you can handle. Unfortunately places like this seem to attract more than their fair share of oxygen thieves but once you're a "known quantity" it should be all good. A truck (HR pref) & fork ticket also helps if you don't have a trade www.adecco.com.au
  2. Congrats mate, there's nothing like driving your own GTR for the first time but FFS, get an insurance cover-note on the car BEFORE you even drive it home. Can be done on the phone, 28 days to pay etc....... Enjoy!!
  3. You're right, a 3" ex should flow the numbers no probs BUT if the cat substrate has collapsed, coked up etc (same for the muffler/s) there's a good chance it won't. Spend the time, drop the ex in front of the cat & at least then you'll know one way or the other for sure. Assumptions can very easily lead to f**k-ups & waste a whole lotta time
  4. I like it
  5. I'd say at a guess there's something loose under there or maybe someone has fitted slightly undersize pads to the calipers, allowing them to rotate slightly when you change direction. Whatever it is, stop sitting on-line & guessing as to what it might be, get it checked out by someone who knows what they're on about.
  6. There's actually someone on here who owns 001, it's immaculate & in as close to 100% orig as you're probably likely to find- how deep are your pockets??
  7. There's also the Nostalgia drags on Sunday at Willowbank Go see how some real steel used to do it!!
  8. Finally I have managed to man-handle a few planets into line & can finally put my std GTR Injectors up for grabs as they are about to make way for some nice new 800's. Engine is from a R33 so I'm assuming the Injectors are also. Working faultlessly, just need more juice to go with the more boost. $300

  10. I had a particularly sadistic dream one night yrs ago after some clown had been f**king with one of my bikes. Instead of chopping the hand off & getting blood all over your shoes & clothes, simply break their fingers, one by one by bending them over backwards & then proceed to tape them to the back of their hand. Repeat process with other hand. Sit back & dish out other random acts of "attitude adjustment" as required............ As for the 3yrs- it's a good start but only if he actually serves the whole 3yrs without the bleeding hearts getting him out in a matter of mths
  11. Hey Steve-o I don't think you're going to get outa jail that easily mate. You might. but there's a "but"....... All caps- be it mains, big-end or in your case cam caps are a "machined fit". Meaning, in this case, a set of caps are fitted to the head (slightly under-sized) & then line-bored to both "true" the alignment & set the appropriate clearance. It's not just a case of throwing another #2 at it & she'll be right unfortunately........ Having said that I have in the past gone thru collections of odd cam caps to replace a missing one on bike engines. Strip out the valves on the appropriate bank (without losing anything else ), lay in the cam & start the process-of-elimination by fitting each avail spare cap & then rotating the cam by hand to get a "feel" of whether it's too tight, too loose or just right 'til you find one that will do the job. I knew a girl like that once....... If the head's already on the motor & buttoned-up, then it all gets a bit more complicated. There are right ways, there are wrong ways & my above suggestion, whilst not technically correct, is somewhere in between. It's your engine, only you can decide what you want to do. BTW to get a "feel" of what's right wrong or otherwise, fit up one of the existing caps, give it a spin & no you can't use this method with the valves/springs in place. If they are, you could try & plasti-gauge the cap in question but I personally have never done this on cam caps under tension from valve springs so I can't comment either way. I'm assuming you don't have access to a shop or proper measuring equipment either in all of the above. Good Luck & let us all know how you go.
  12. Gotta love a wife like that, you've got yourself a real gem there Paul
  13. The biggest thing I got from flicking thru the stats list on that article (was way more interested in the new GTR & Lambo) was how SLOW both vehicles were in the 1/4 Got traction???? Didn't think so........... The only relevant thing is USABLE power, anything above that is just a wank
  14. As I understand it, there are binding circumstances that have to be adhered to when conducting a dB test as it falls under relevant Weights & Measures Legislation- I'm sure Geoff would know more. From memory it is something like 2m behind the car & within a certain angle in relation to the tip etc at a given rpm. They cannot simply stand there & aimlessly point a measuring device at the vehicle, rev the snot outa it & come up with a pass or more usually a fail without conducting the test correctly. As for bikes, apart from the "look at me" wankers & the plastic gangsters on their tractors (Harleys), the main reason for having a loud pipe on a bike is so the stereotypical Aussie knob can actually HEAR when they are near a bike because the old "sorry I didn't see you" excuse for putting someone on a bike in hospital & worse happens WAY more than it ever should & simply isn't good enough......... & before someone inevitably comes out with it, yes there are some idiots on bikes that simply shouldn't be on the road due to their conduct, lack of skill & simple dis-regard for others but that sadly is not a unique occurrence, across any given sub-culture. /rant
  15. Mate the much better option is to use something like a 600mm breaker bar with the appropriate socket or hex end. This will be a lot less harsh on your wheel nuts that impact tools usually are, they will still get the nuts plenty tight & you'll have the advantage, as long as you carry it in the car of course, of never finding yourself in the situation that you can't get the wheel off because the impact gun has done it up way too firmly to be able to remove it with the brace supplied with most cars as std equipment. PM me for options & pricing etc
  16. Green Green is nice......... Sorry, it had to be done

    Dual Hid's

WHY would it be illegal??? (If you can't back up your statement, why post your opinion in the first place) If you were to be like the stereotypical deadshit that insists on driving around town with his or her factory "driving lights" on in your new Bogandore pissing off on-coming traffic then yes I could see it being a problem but other than that, how is it any different to running multiple beams on something like a 4WD etc, as long as you're sensible about when & where you use 'em?? Like most things, it's not the unit at fault but the application........ As for "How To", try the link below & if it all sounds a bit daunting, I might be able to help you (or anyone else for that matter) out in the New Year for the cost of parts & a 'lil on the side. Just remember one thing, you won't be able to "flash" your lights like std with all 4 beams as HID's as the globes usually take a few secs to build to full intensity etc but other than that I can't see a prob with it. My GTR will be getting this exact conversion in the near future. PM away..... http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Du...eam-t13979.html While you're at it, try this DIY. Def can't hurt with the heat coming....... http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/R3...rn-t153378.html

    That Report

Y'know something, it's on almost a daily basis that I have to take a deep breath, bite my tongue & not respond to some of the things I read on here but there's no way I can let this f**ktard comment pass un-challenged. The aforementioned 3 generations were killed because the 23yo superhero that was driving the Commodore that they were killed in lost control whilst overtaking, the trailer that the Commodore was towing jack-knifed & threw the car into the SIDE of the prime-mover, ending up in a chewed up but not spat out mess. SO in this case it wasn't the truckie at fault, but the deadshit car driver...... I used to make a living driving trucks, I don't anymore after becoming sick of having to share space with a % of un-educated, impatient & outright dangerous dickhead car AND truck drivers (& bike riders for that matter). I also used to ride high-performance Jap bikes on the road, but stopped for the same reasons. Note that I included pretty much all types of road-going vehicle in that statement because there most definitely are some people, however small or otherwise that % may be, that should not be on the road IN ANY TYPE OF VEHICLE due to their conduct & lack of common-courtesy, & sadly that probably even extends to people within our own ranks. Something that most of you seem not to realise is the fact that YOU are passing judgement upon a sub-set of people that you most likely have no real information or insight upon, much the same as the general public do when it comes to us. We all by & large drive high-performance Japanese Imports so we MUST all be hoons. Can anyone smell the irony.........
  19. Congrats guys, top effort!! I've only ever run PI on a bike (high 1:40's) & it really is a track that everyone should go & drive/ride at least once. Nothing like 2-wheel drifting into Turn 1 at 190+ with everything on the deck & shooting sparks off the stainless exhaust, if it wasn't for the cold winters & Gestapo down there I'd consider moving back. Funnily enough, even after hearing all the comments & watching race footage etc I never once noticed the ocean views whilst screaming down the front straight. Something to do with "tunnel vision" they tell me..........
  20. Nope it was going 'round & 'round & 'round Wait 'til you see his new toy...........
  21. I'd say it's more oil breakdown than starvation- not changed often enough or simply the wrong oil used. The joys of buying second-hand toys
  22. .........and on that bombshell, it's goodnight!! Well written too BTW
