I changed my oil only a few months ago with Mobil1 fully synth

if cleaning them didn't work it might be, electrical?

My GTR is ticking really loud, I think its the lifters but I don't know now. Its ok with cold starts but after a few minutes of driving and when the engine gets a bit warmer the ticking starts. When I start the car in the afternoon (to drive hoime from work) the ticking is gone and the engine sounds sweet again. Whats going on?, something to do with the cold? Also my Power FC Hand controller, knock sensor monitor reports a maximum level of 80?! (usually lower, around 20), seen as though the graph only goes upto 100 I can't see this being a good thing. What should I do?, is my engine 'knocking' badly?

Damage Control are in Maddington right? whats their address and phone number?, I have been recommended to go there to get some rust removed.... Sounds like a good place to go when I get my kit too

I'm sorry, did you say GTR and budget build in teh same sentence . This is a decision I may have to make if mine goes, do it myself or get it to a workshop. Thing is I've had a rebuild fund since I bought my GTR which could go to very good use if I did it all myself. My GTR had WANLI's on when I bought it and they were quite bald. Normal driving around a corner when it was moist and the back end would step out Now I have Fulda Extremo's, Never ever gunna sink as low as Wanli/Nankangs.

I prefer Alpine and I went for a 9831 of the older style. Pioneer, Kenwood, Sony, Panasonic etc seem to be slipping off the radar a bit now. Out of those I'd pick Pioneer anyway.

Most people here are leaning towards Motul 4100 turbo light. I might try this next, what the rating on it (ie 10W/50)? or the Castrol R... What are some signs of a bad oil? or a wrong mix for a particular engine?

I am getting one soon for a D-Jetro setup to remove my AFM's. EDIT: come to think of it, that helps you nil.

They were just long enough for an upright fit, so that the top of the oil filter would not hit by the bonnet when shut. I have no space because of my D-Jetro harness bolted in the way. In the pic you can see 2 black allen key bolts, they I assume are drain plugs so you can get the oil out of the filter before replacing it. I have other interested at the moment though.

I have a MOMO Race wheel, very nice feel too it. Theres 2 sizes, a 320mm and a 350mm, I have the 320mm but I think I should have gone with the 350. Don't get me wrong its a great wheel, but I can't see some other guages on the dash because the edge of the wheel is in the way. It is, however, awesome at trackdays
