  1. From my understanding they're not illegal to have but they're illegal if you get out of the car and they're running... is that right? This is in Victoria btw. - J.
  2. I've seen it drive down Clayton Rd about 9:15am towards Boundary Rd during the week. I only got a good glance at it yesterday, which is how I could tell it was it was. Last time I saw it, it flew by so quick all I could make out was that distinctive gold paint and the words TOP SECRET emblazed onto the sides. - J.
  3. If it finally happens and cars are actually going to be locked at this speed and it will be stringently enforced (assuming this happens) I think I may well move out of this state. - J.
  4. There's a Top Secret AE86 hovering around the Clayton area in Victoria. Wondering if anyone knows anythng about that particular or who the owner is? - J.
  5. That's exactly what I was thinking. I would have flat out said "I call bullshit." - J.
  6. Isn't that automatic loss of license? - J.
  7. Double posts!!! ARGGHHH!! - J.
  8. I've had 3 speeding fines, all within my first three years of driving. All of them under 15km over, two were under 5km (GRRR). - J.
  9. Good luck Andrew. You should be ok. Scream loud enough and long enough and most of these ****ers will cave in. Go top down if you want to complain to people. Failing that, take meshmesh's advice. - J.

    EPA anyone?

So basically you're saying if you own a Skyline, you WILL be bent over and you WILL be ****ed by the coppers? - J.
  11. I've always wondered if "self defence" is a reasonable cause for speeding? Although if you can't prove it you're probably ****ed. If they can produce the picture where you are along side the other car though, that might work. You could prove that if the other car is keeping pace then he is speeding too. - J.

    EPA anyone?

Is there anyway of modifying your car and ensuring that the exhaust and emmissions are all legal or is just accepted that if you mod your car you will be out and you wear that risk knowing you might get EPAown3d? - J.
  13. I'm 25 (no P plater) and looking at getting an R32GTR or a different Skyline that's a little cruisier as a daily driver and I'm kinda mortified at the idea of being pulled over all the time and the mere prospect that I can be defected at the cop's discretion. I don't drive like a hoon, but I do look like a bit of a thug (shaved head) and the fact I'd use the car for work purposes (leased most likely) -- I dunno if I can afford to have too much time on the road or chasing up fines for coppers who are too stupid to know their shit. This is all a little frightening. Is it only the P platers who have this kind of harassment or is it anyone driving an import or any type? - J.
  14. Leewahs is in HPI. - J.
  15. Yep. Need address. - J.
  16. As much as I hate fixed cameras and this 3km bullshit margin of error, how is money that is gained from those who broke the law owed to you - who broke the law in the first place? Saying they should build legal drag strips to lower street racing is tantamount to saying that they should legalise drugs in order to reduce crime. I think it's a real grey area for argument and nont necessarily a good one. I think the people who are most likely to do street racing are the P platers who scraped together every penny to pay for their souped up R33 GTS-Ts and R34 GT-Ts, can barely afford petrol, still live at home and complain about driving more than 45min. Funnily enough, the ones the government seems to be targeting. The coppers are targeting P platers with import cars with turbos and lots of modifications, well, why is it I do not have a problem with this? It's funny you don't see the 25+ year olds here really kicking up a shit storm over this. Least not those who can afford their rides and can afford the time and money to race them legally. - J.
  17. Cops have ridiculuous power when it comes to this. But what do you expect in a state that chases up speeding and import cars more than it does organised crime and murder? - J.
  18. An engine rebuild starts at about $5-6gs. That's like a worst case scenario. Most are due for their 100k service if you're importing, that in itself is $1g right there. Clutches start at $800. Mate at your age, I wouldn't bother unless you're prepared to live in indentured servitude to your car. I'm looking at getting one and I'll be stretching it but I'm prepared to make that sacrifice. - J.
  19. Is there any *technical* reason to pick one over the other? Does one grant more features? Because the Power FC is preprogrammed does that mean it cannot be adjusted? Sorry I'm just a little new to all this. - J.
  20. Agreed. I hate that look. - J.
  21. Whats the difference between the two? Is there any major benefits of one over the other? - J.
  22. Just where in the hell are you buying R32 GTRs for $12k? Off the back of a truck? - J.
  23. Yeah definately it would great to see the condition. - J.
  24. I had claims with JC before and they were fantastic to me. - J.
  25. I'm curious, how much an AE86 would cost. I'd consider getting one if I could completely gut the thing, inside and out and get it rebuilt. I know this sounds blasphemous for asking but could you get it to house a rotary engine? For the drifters reading this thread... - J.
