  1. What sort of cost increase would you expect to face when importing a skyline with basic modifications? e.g. Apexi Power FC, Exhaust, Intercooler, pod filters, mags. - J.
  2. I've seen several R34s being sold privately for sub 30k in Melbourne alone. One at about 22k. Not saying they were perfect condition mind you but - J.
  3. Well wicked Leewah. Mad pics. - J.
  4. I think it depends what you want the car to do. If you plan on racing and seriously modding, GTR. If you want rice and dress it up nice but just want a plush ride with the Skyline label, go the R34. - J.
  5. That's what I'm talking about :D - J.
  6. Why do some people go for a huge single turbo (e.g. T88) and others a smaller, twin turbo? What would the difference be in terms of power output? - J.
  7. Send the newb packing... - J.
  8. Figured there would be a Vicroads equivalent anyway. Groovy. :cooldance Thanks - J.
  9. Far out. It's not even about safety in Vic anymore, its just money making. - J.
  10. We had this chat already. He won't give it to me on the cheap. Mates rates or not! - J.
  11. Kewl. Will do. Thanks. - J.
  12. Mmm the website was notoriously vague if the car is encumbered. Presuming that it is, and that the seller using the payment to pay off that debt, how can you satisfy that requirement? Last thing you want is repo men coming after you for the car.... also is there any consumer protection at all if you buy a car, do the checks and it comes up clear yet down the line you find out its stolen? - J.
  13. How do you go about checking that the car isn't stolen/rebirthed or any of that? - J.
  14. What would be needed to get a 10 sec pass in an R32? What sort of mods would you need? - J.
  15. Whats the appeal behind the AE86? - J.
  16. Good luck getting an answer to this... - J.
  17. I'm gonna resurrect this only because I want to see the pics and not sure if he ever posted them - J.
  18. Why did you get burned? What happened? - J.
  19. GTSTs vs. Supra? I'd go Supra. GTR vs. Supra? I'd go GTR. - J.
  20. I didn't say it was *logical*, I just said it's true. It's been that way for sometime and I think your chances of getting it overturned are about **** all. The only real people who would have a reason to chase this would be the importer who ships large volumes IMHO but really the only person to truly benefit from it is the consumer and when they're looking down spending a $$$$ to get the car they want, are they really going to balk at a few extra hundred? It's shitty but hey, what can you do... ? - J.
  21. Yes that is correct. You effectively pay it twice. It's bullshit and I don't understand how or why but that's the way it is and has been for some time to my understanding. - J.
  22. To the best of my knowledge it has always been this way with Customs. I was looking at importing martial arts supplies and when I spoke to the Customs officials about it this is what I was told. Why is everyone so suprised by this? Is this something new with import cars? I would have imagined that anyone that's running an established business shouldn't be caught off guard by this. - J.
  23. Exactly what I was thinking. Nigerian scammer. Make him send pictures first. - J.
