I love the Silvia S15 and GTRs. It's a tough call but I'm leaning more to the R32. The amount of money I will have left to spare after compliancing and importing to do whatever is needed should be sufficient. I would buy an R33 but the cheapest I'd get one is about $35k. I could probably swing that much but I feel it's important to set a budget and stick to it. With $30k, if I got the S15 I wouldn't have enough left for anything really if something happened. I'd be lucky if I could afford the immobiliser/alarm/GPS/whatever I wanna put in. This is the same dillemma I'd face even if I could get an R33. I could shop locally of course for a car that has all this but it would defeat the purpose of an import. The money saved on a GTR can be spent to breathe so much new life to it that it could be just as good as a new car, or near enough I figure. There's also the fact that even if I got a Silvia, I'd still be wanting a GTR. Whoever said that is right

I assume an '89 would be the best model given the amount of money I want to splash on fixing it up. Is there much difference between the later years (technically I mean and not in terms of wear and tear)? I think it's only with V-Spec its got the different breaking system. - J.

I plan on importing one and then building it up locally. I got all the time in the world for now since I get by on PT quite nicely for now. If I see a real nice one in Japan I could get it but it makes little point if all the mods have to be ripped out and put back in later. - J.
