Got it back from morpowa today after having it there for 2 days they reckon its a problem with number 5 or 6 piston. Probably a broken ring land or gudgeon pin issue. I'm gonna pull it out this weekend or the next and strip it down.

Just checked all clearances and condition of shims. They're all within specs. I've got a nasty feeling its a big end knock and the sensor is pickin it up. Anyway i've done all i can so i'm prob gonna take it down to Morpowa next week and let them suss it out.

Got 2 opinions. One said its pinging so i got new plugs,fuel, octane booster and retarded timing just to be sure. Still there. Then someone whos had a fair bit experience with RBs had a look at it and said it sounds like a shim issue on the inlet side. At least it's not big end cos i was starting to think it was. Gonna take the rocker covers off and suss it out 2moro.

Just tried octane booster. no difference then backed off the timing but still no luck.

Hmm i didn't know that. Yeah i have a power fc but im pretty sure its not pinging.

Just started it up when it was cold let it idle for a couple of mins, revved it between 2-3 grand, no tick or light. took it for a drive, when it gets hot light flashes and tick comes back only when light is flashing. So i guess it cant be a rocker/lash adj prob cos it would tick all the time? Any GTR experts out there?

The exhaust temp light on my gtr has been flashing sometimes for a little while now, usually when going up hills under load. But on the way home tonight the exhaust temp light was flashing even under really light throttle between 2-3000 rpm and also a tick happens which sounds like something in the rocker gear but only ticks when the light is flashing. Its got me stumped and pretty worried. If anyone could help that would be great.

Grey GTR with bronze te37s was me. Got standard plates now that its SA reg'd, was vic rego with GTR321 plates till last week.

I'm interested. Bought a 32 GTR with some nice mods from vic a couple of months back. Should be interesting to see what it makes (previous owner claimed 275rwkw).

As the title says I'm after the ashtray & cigarette lighter for my 32 GTR (pretty sure gtst are the same?) If anyones got these let me know. thanks, Stuart.

Hi, I just bought a 32 GTR from interstate and it has to go for a full roadworthy as it doesn't have a compliance plate (15 year rule). Anyway i was wondering where the best place to get intrusion bars installed is and how much should i expect to pay? Also are adj coilovers legal? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Hi i just bought a 32 GTR from Vic. It came with a RWC and i booked it in to have the VIN numbers checked so it can be SA registered. They said it has no compliance plates which i thought is normal as it is older than 15 years. Now apparently it has to undergo a full regency inspection to get SA registration. Not happy.

I changed the alternator belt today and the person helping arced the alternator out with a spanner. When i started it no lights, gauges etc worked. I checked all fuses and started it then it all worked. Drove home and the hicas light is flashing and steering tries to fight any input. Previously the hicas light was permanently on as the car has a mechanical lock. Now when i turn the car off and restart there is no lights again. The only way to get the electrics working again is if it sits for a while or the battery is disconnected.

I just bought a 32 gtr and driving back from melbourne to adelaide got 500ks to 3/4 of a tank before filling up.

Anyone else?

Hi, In the next week or so i'm looking to buy a 32 gtr. I know they're an awesome car and i also know they are aging but i haven't heard much about problems apart from the oil pump drive breaking. I'd be interested to hear any info from owners out there who have had any troubles. Thanks in advance, Stuart.
