Dezz, yeah being adult apprentice is tough (am nearly 25 myself), it comes all down to selling myself and talking them to pick me over pimply faced young lads. About the unions... I'll worry about it later, gotta find out more. I've also been told building/construction type unions are way better than other type of union. Thanks again.

I'm thinking of going to grab whatever comes first, cbf waiting for 'perfect' one simply cos I really hate my current job. Would happily sell the GTR though. My question is would I get the job I want after completing the course (which is 3 weeks away), cos was told 50% of pre-apprentices have successful landed an apprenticeship. Also told many plumbers doesn't like apprentices who doesn't have exprience in domestic - if I were to change from industrial/commercial, you'd have trouble getting domestic jobs should you need/want to. Just another thing to consider... Have yet to write a resume - been slacking to be honest. Need to decide what to put in and what not to, whether to simplify or fancy it up a bit. Should be fun times ahead for me...

It's changed? Don't know, never had one myself but was told what my mum went through. She said it was $36k pa and your tax return goes towards HECS, that was few years ago. I'd rather not to have one, plus I won't need to worry since the career path I'm doing would make having HECS debt pointless.

I wonder how long would it take to clear HECS debt after finishing uni and landing a job with at least $36k pa.
