Shoota's R33 GT-R RB30/26
Count Grantleyish replied to Shoota_77's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
Nice progress there. And these welds aren't too bad. -
I took a punt on mine when it was just out of warranty lol. 3 and half years later, it's still going strong.

Nice plan you got there, as long it bumps the value up more than 2/3 times of the budget of the reno.

Is R33 Gtr Air Box Same As R34 Gtr
Count Grantleyish replied to walkoau's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Plus R34 has slightly larger provisions to fit over the radiator as 34 radiators are slightly different to 33. -
Is R33 Gtr Air Box Same As R34 Gtr
Count Grantleyish replied to walkoau's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Snorkel are slightly different but the airbox itself is the same IIRC Snorkel from 34R will fit on 33, I've done it before. Dunno if 33 snorkel fits on 34, many reported it doesn't? -
R33 gtst leak in boot
Count Grantleyish replied to 020king's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
How's the taillights? It's the first thing I'd look for leaks followed by the panel where rear 1/4 meets the boot, mine leaked there on both sides and panel beaters has sealed these and now my LHS taillight leak. The joys of R33... -

It was a lovely daily for 3 weeks and I found it too slow coming from GF8 WRX and bought a Golf R. Bought it when it was the cheapest on market (below trade in value!), and I still have it now - 3 years and 4 months of ownership so far. Drove it a lot - used it as a daily, Uber, parts runner, interstate trips (2x Sydney, 1x Adelaide 1x Canberra with a detour of Wagga, Junee and around that way), didn’t miss a beat mechanically out of 68,000km I’ve driven in it. It’s insanely easy to drive, I’ve let my brother, mum, my ex and current gf drive it. And that car changed my mind on DSG, it’s excellent transmission. There are the pics
