Fun video to watch but kinda stupid at end of the day Civic is basically an engine on wheels, coulda been a modded up vectra or any other fwd car at end of the day. Car would still drive like sh1t. Civic was a decent car 10yrs ago but its pretty much rubbish now compared to modern hot hatches like renault clio sport or megane 225.

Hi, I had a rebuild on my R32 at Racepace, where are getting it rebuilt? I also used Arias Forged pistons. Arias are a very well respected brand, but more important is your rebuilder is experienced with the piston and not have too much clearance. Ben knows exactly how much is too much and used the tightest setting and I had absolutely no rattle on start up and near zero engine roughness. I dont know what the 2830's are (are they HKS?) but I know a popular turbo is the HKS GT2530's. I opted for the HKS GT-SS which are slightly smaller, but are a little more responsive. Had 90% peak power buy 4000rpm till redline so it made driving it very easy. Dyno gave 313rwkw, with GT2530 prob would have been around 330+rwkw. As for ECU, I PFC refers to the A'Pexi Power FC. Its an excellent option cos its plug and tune, whereas other standalones may need new sensors and rarely have a base map so install costs are much more. I was thrilled with mine but it doesnt matter what you use, its who tunes it that matters. All I can say is you're going through an expensive exercise so dont skimp on costs, get the best parts and builder you can afford. Better to pay more once than pay less twice. I spent about $20k all up (which is on the expensive side) but I never had a problem and the car drove beautifully. Even my friend mentioned it drove smoother than his stock rex.

He thinks his meagre salary is actually decent money and can afford an R34 GTR.

But in Toyotas case they are good. Like it or not, the vast majority of car buyers just dont give a shit about performance or handling. They want reliability, comfort, practicallity, quality and low upkeep costs. There isnt a better car manufacturer than Toyota to meet these criteria. If I didnt give a shit about cars, a Toyota would be the most logical car to choose, even if they are bland.... McDonalds on the other hand is not a logical meal, its for kids and fat broad minded persons. As for the original question, Toyota's flagship performance car was the Supra, much like the GTR. The GTR was originally supposed to be RWD but they wanted more traction due to tyre width restrictions in racing (cant remember was it Group A??)... If they decided to stay RWD like all Skylines of previous generations, would be extremely similar to Supra. Its like the Porsche 911 and its rivals, there is nothing like a 911 in the world with its fat arse but its still hunted by all.

Hi there, You want a car that is stock and reliable but your'e looking at 14+year old cars. Now the GTR is probably one of japans most reliable stock cars (super strong components unlike rex's) but you gotta remember ALL the cars components are way past the longevity they were engineered for. If you want reliable, and your'e going to keep them stock, why not consider something newer like the S15 or a Renault Clio Sport(infinitely better than a Pulsar GTiR)? I mean all newer model turbos drive much better than early nineties turbos, with almost zero lag and much improved fuel consumption.

My first car was 00 toyota celica, very reliable, high quality and decent performance. Second car was 89 R32 GTR- spent $25k on rebuild and performance upgrade, only to lose my license for a year then getting it nicked. So now im in the process of looking for a new car. Right now ive burned all my money so looking at Renault Clio Sport 182 cup, Mk IV golf R32, VE Commodore SS. Would like to have as a weekend car early nineties BMW E34 M5, 1989 Mercedes 190E Evolution cosworth 2.5, Porsche 928 S4. Next car after that in about 2 years time, i really wanna try for a 997 911S or AM V8 vantage. Really depends on if i actually save or just end up blowing all my money like i have for last 3 years.

I will second the Fujitsubo exhaust. I had a cat-back (dunno wat model) on R32 GTR along with front pipes. As soon as it was installed, the car went extremely quite, almost stock car silent on idle, with a nice deep purr on throttle. Nail it and aggressive bark, never a trace of ricey zing. Definitely the best exhaust note i've heard and extremely happy with results. Later on had full engine rebuild with HKS dumps on HKS GTSS, 700cc inj., powerFC etc etc 313rwkw at Racepace. At first, Ben was worried the exhaust might be restrictive and limiting boost and power but he was very impressed with the flow. Cops pulled me over once looking for a defect and had to let me go as the car looked and sounded stock. the exhaust had an oval mid muffler and a large ovoid rear muffler. The tip was on the bottom aspect so most of the muffler was hidden from view behind rear bar with the tip coming out the recess. Basically looked like a stock muffler with larger tip. My 2c is try to get a front pipe (I bought mine mandrell bent 3" second hand for $100) installed at same time, if ur having turbos replaced, get a dump too. Dunno if ur car is hard to install dumps. You can get any management you want, but at end of the day its the tuner that nets u the results. Even with a motec, if you go to a dumbass ur car will make the power, but drive like a wagon of sh1t. I had powerfc on my car and was extremely happy with results, drove smooth (or even smoother) than stock. Unrelated, the only thing i didnt like on my car was on idle you could hear the sard injectors flapping away.... damm noisy buggers... and also nismo fuel pump vibrations.

Unfortunately, i had no alarm or insurance, which was very stupid looking back on it. I had spent $25000 modifying and rebuilding the engine after the original turbos compressor wheels got sucked into the engine. During the rebuild, i lost my licence for a year. I only had my licence back for 3 weeks, and right now im really struggling financially for the past year due to illness limiting how much i could work earlier in the year, so couldnt afford the $3500 for comprehensive insurance. 3rd party would have been useless in this case anyways. Id only just started to get back on track by making some good inroads on some significant debts and getting back to health and working hard for the last 4 months. I had been really careful where i parked it and drove it as little as possible until i could afford insurance or an alarm. I was at a cafe and parked it on a main road right off lygon. Im pretty sure it got stolen within 30 minutes of me parking the car. Im just heart broken cos the R32 GTR was my dream car. I guess its my fault in the end for having no security. This would have to be the worst time for this to happen due to my current financial situation. Im just sick of these lowlifes that steal cars, strip them and make a profit, all the while getting their centrelink payout and not paying a cent in tax. They are parasites of the community. I would just love for them to get what they deserve and see what it feels like to lose something valuable to them. I dont have pics. It looks like a stock white GTR, no front lower lip and black 6 thin-spoke enkei's with a blue thick pinstripe on perimetre.

Hi, I live in Melbourne and on Saturday 2nd September, my car was stolen at approximately between 10pm-midnite near the corner of Lygon and Brunswick street in Brunswick. It is a R32 1989 GTR. It has black enkei 6 spoke wheels, and standard GTR bodykit. I have notified police, but if anyone sees or hears about this vehicle, pls contact me. Its engine is fairly modified, so if anyone sees these parts being offered, pls let me know as well. It has a rebuilt engine that has been blueprinted and balanced with forged arias pistons and nismo bearings, Nismo engine mounts, runs HKS GT-SS twin turbos, Sard injectors, Nismo fuel pump, N1 water and oil pumps, APEXi power FC, HKS stainless steel dump pipes, Fujitsubo Cat back exhaust and brandless mandrell bent 3" outlet front pipe. It has the standard bodykit but is missing its front lip. It also has alot of sooty debris on the left side from the exhaust fouling the rear. The interior is near stock, no radio and neat. This is an extremely high quality fibreglass bonnet with real carbon fibre on exterior for a true carbon fibre appearance. Very high quality and has excellent appearance. Has exo skeleton underneath for strength like OEM bonnets. Virtually brand new condition. Originally purchased for my R32 GTR. Attempted fitment. Hinge location bolts, latch location and panel gaps were a perfect fit. However, it did not close fully (about 1 inch from fully closing) due to larger GTR engine. Here is some constructive feedback Are you in Victoria? If so, than anything over 30km/hr is a mandatory 12months licence loss, regardless of judge. One thing that might help is to tell judge (if it isnt on the coppers report) that you didnt know speedo was busted and only found out after you received the fine, and have since booked it in to get it fixed. Get a report etc and you might have a chance of getting away. There is a chance that even with the speedo issue, you will still lose your licence for a year due to the mandatory penalty. I lost my licence for a year and judge said she couldnt do anything about the licence, but she did significantly lower my fine. Good luck! And the rest of you, lay off him. Losing his licence for a year will be plenty of punishment as it is. Get off you high horses and get fu(ked.

I think as long as they dont put the GTR badge on, its a nice and tasteful mod as it makes the gts-t's look much better. After all, whats wrong with making your ride look nice? BTW, you really should get over it. If you want exclusivity, maybe you should go out and buy something 'more exclusive'? after all, an r32 gtr or r33 gtr is getting pretty damn affordable nowadays. Unless of course you cant afford it, in which case you really shouldnt be complaining

Need an alarm and installer. ALARM: What brand and model do you guys recommend? I have read the Brant Nemesis is very good. Please list which you recommend and reasons why. FEATURES: I have heard remote-start severly compromises alarm integrity. Is this true, and if so, are there any other functions that compromise efficacy? INSTALLER: My understanding is that installation is extremely important to slow down a thief. Please provide recommendations on master alarm specialists. I am looking for someone with pride in their work, attention to detail, knows exactly what they are doing. I want someone who is technically superb. Please dont recommend Joe Dumbass just because he is a 'nice guy'. I dont really care if he is friendly, i want my car to be unstealable. ACCESORIES: Do clublocks work? any other deterents that work well?

I would like to rejuvenate the interior of my R32 GTR. Is there any centre console trim kits available? I am thinking of ways to make my interior nicer. Any suggestions would be great. Anyone know a carbon fibre specialist in Melbourne that can make or layer the centre console with carbon fibre?? I am also looking for flat sheets of carbon fibre to make an airbox with it. Also would like a new front lip etc. Looking for places in Melbourne that does good quality work. Obviously if they're cheap, i will consider also.

I would like to paint the engine bay. Is it possible to do so without removing the engine, but removing pretty much all other components around it? Also, what is the best technique? Strip/sand back, then paint? Do i sand back until i see the colour fade away or just until its lost its sheen? I have read that some of the guys use scotchbrite(?) rather than sandpaper. What is this stuff? PAINT: What sort of paint is best? Proffesional 2pack, or can spray cans produce a descent finish? Ive noticed that most engine bays paint jobs are usually low sheen. Is the paint a different grade (ie hi temp)? If I were to use spray cans, what type (ie hi temp, engine enamel etc) and wat brands are best? I am planning to chrome plate anything i can remove, replace all nuts/bolts with s/s ones, and replace all hoses with silicone/braided hoses. Any input would be grateful. If anyone knows of a link which shows a step-by-step preparation/spray painting tutorial (DOES NOT NEED TO BE ENGINE BAY, ANY SURFACE IS FINE), that would be great as i am also planning on painting my front lip which is cracked.
