  1. the car is running 10psi, there was only a small amount of oil in the duct at the point where i removed - at AFM..... so i dunno how much oil there is further down the tract but i was able to wipe away the oil with a tissue so not much at all.... What im worried about is the pressure meter....... i been told its prob just the meter but i dun wanna hurt my engine. got it booked in with racepace for major service mid next week. I getting: Oil/oil filter, check oil pressure and oil in inlet Gearbox - redline Diff, transfer case fluid check coolant anything missing?
  2. Disconnected AFM to install new one and found oil in the rubber duct leading to AFM. Help.... what could this be due to??? Also, my oil pressure varies between 0-6 when driving.... sometimes it will sit at 0, other times rising to 6, and sometimes sits at 4

Excellent condition, but as noted in description of auction, the CD player does not read CDs. Everything else works a treat. I am not fixing the head unit as I have a new one and have no intention of using it again. I have been told it may be a fuse and is unlikely to be due to the laser.   7. I need a new Air Flow meter for an R32 GTR I have read that the Z32 AFM is a good mod to do. Is this compatible with the stock ECU? If not, looking at getting stock AFM. Anyone got part no./details? Also, how would i go about giving the AFM a clean? ie wat sort of solution thanks

  10. Hi thanks for the replies. This problem has been occuring more frequently over the past few days. To elaborate, when the problem occurs, it will not rev past 2600 exactly so i am pretty sure it is a safe mode the comp is going to. Also, just before the problem occurs, i can feel the power of the car is a little lethargic and suddenly its back to normal for a few secs then lethargic again and then into safe mode. I had a look at the airflow meter and the wirings not flash. Gonna see if i can secure the wires and see how it goes for the time being. With airflow meters, if one of mine was shot, wouldnt it always run bad??
  11. Ive picked up my R32 GTR, absolutely great condition. However, after a descent run (but not always, its happened twice so far) the car will not rev past 2600 rpm, power completely cuts out as if hitting redline. Car works fine normally and this has only happened twice. Cant get into hypertune or racepace till new year so wondering if anyone had any possible causes? My temp gauge usually shows a temp of 83 degrees... is this normal or high?
  12. Can anyone recommend a mechanic/workshop for a pre-purchase inspection that has good knowloedge of r32 gtr's in northern suburbs or Melbourne? Need to book car in for inspection by end of the week, thanks.
  13. I have dealt with X-Force exhausts in the past. I cannot recommend them enough. They are simply VALUE for money. You get Japanese craftsmanship at Chinese goods prices. Apparently the exhausts with mufflers that are robotic tig welded (N1 style mufflers) are made at the same factory that HKS source out their exhausts to get made. Surprise surprise HKS dont actually make their exhaust systems. They are subcontracted to a factory that makes them. XForce is run by Malaysians (I think) but the actual products are made in Japan. Note, I dont think the whole XForce line up is made in Japan. However, it is quite obvious which ones are the real deal and which ones are cheap crap. If you go the the xforce website, the Thunderball mufflers are the ones made in Japan. I wouldnt buy an oval muffler.... basically the mufflers that show the robotic tig welds are a safe bet, whereas the mufflers that have had the welds linished out are probably not made in Japan (prob china). As for full exhaust systems, the WRX and 200sx systems are made in Japan. They are as good as HKS exhausts. Mandrel bent (no weld tags inside like with custom jobs). Looking at the Skyline exhaust, that looks like a good buy. Im also pretty sure that the turbo manifolds and extractors are made int he same Japanese factory.... just look at the photos... simply amazing quality. Dont hesitate to buy, $970 is a steal. you are basically buying it a fraction above trade price. However, the skyline exhaust might be pretty loud as it uses a hotdog style resonator, whereas the 200sx uses a secondary muffler and has a very quiet/nice exhaust note. BTW, i dont have any bias as there is no financial incentive for me. I just think they are the best value for money exhaust going around. you will not be disappointed and dont be so anally retentive :Pimp2:
  14. i only plan on getting 3rd party insurance. I cant justify paying 3k a year on insurance. 2-3 years without a claim and that is alot of money down the drain. If i get into an accident, i can afford to repair it so ill take the risk. BTW what is a leak down test? I just want a car in good nick and will spend money once i get it to get it in prime condition. Once i get the car, i will probably ask questions on wat to do to the car in order to maintain it. I love cars, but i dont know the specific details on wat a car requires to maintain all its components. i dont intend to do the work myself, but i do wanna know wat and why a car needs certain procedures in order to maintain it rather than leaving it to the discretion of the mechanic! I first fell in love with Skylines back in 1997 when i was in Japan. I got to ride in a race ready HR30 skyline turbo.
  15. I have been looking at R32's recently and plan to get the one that i intend to buy inspected. Wat things do you specifically get checked? I want chassis checked, compression test... anything possible to know whether gearbox and turbos are in good nick? Also, anyone got any suggestions in Melbourne that is a good workshop for GTR vehicle inspection? Please include details if possible...
  16. Looking at importing a GTR from Japan. Found an interesting one http://www.prestigemotorsport.com.au/au/st...sp?StockID=2533 Few things I wanted to ask: Engine bay appears matt black but the car is white. Is this normal or is it probably resprayed? There is a picture of what i assume is a suspension component. What is that picture highlighting (ie is it good/bad?) Also, what are ur thoughts on the overall quality of the car? I would appreciate any feedback on specific details and areas to look out for on cars when inspecting these type of photos.
