With a search wielding no definitive answer, a new topic it is... All my other manual cars over the years have idled around 650. All of these cars have been na btw. Even the charger (auto) in park idles at 800.. My s2 stagea rs4s idles when warm at 850-900 rpm. Is this normal or is it too high? (Under the bonnet on the leading edge there's a sticker that says 650) so theres conflicting info already.. is it something to do with turbo and needing to idle higher maybe? How do I adjust it.. if I need to?

Rejuvenated my headlights today. Used Maguires headlight kit. Worked awesome! -
Okay.. different question, But related to the OP. Since this boost cut thing happened, I have irregular boost. Seems normal (6.8psi) when ot has just warmed up. After about 20mins of driving, it only makes 3psi or less. I had a listen for boost leaks, replaced a vacuum line for boost gauge but can hear a 'pssssssst' noise when I turn the engine off. Sounds like its coming from the front right (intake side) of the engine.. anything specific i should look at? So much sh*t going in and out of it, I have no idea what many lines do.. my knowledge of working on engines stops at hemi 6's.. so I've got 30+ years of technology to catch up on even if someone could point me in the right direction. Thanks in advance

Thaks man. I found some pictures around forums, looks pretty top shelf. Do you make them yourself? Im super keen for one but as I just bought the car, im a little short on funds unfortunately..Id definitely like to hit you up for one in the near future though.

Hmm. I thought all filters were oiled but obviously not.. ive got a brand new stock panel, ill put that on instead and clean the AFM. Interested in the hard intake pipe scotty. May as well fix the factory flaws. How much would one of those set me back?

what's VCT? Boost cut makes sense as it feels like a total loss of power.. I just thought it would have come on a little bit later than 4500. I have a stock boost gauge, the one in the center console. Full boost has never been more than 355mmhg (6.8psi or .47bar). Plan on getting an A/M one but I cant find a 52mm that even slightly matches (any ideas?) I have the stock airbox with a brand spankin new k&n panel filter. I've read something about a rubber pipe on the intake somewhere that collapses under boost, would that maybe something to consider upgrading?

Thanks dude. Im so in love hahaOh while im here, can anyone shed some light on what the side skirts are? Front is dayz, not sure on the rest.. also has massive spoiler on the back which is somewhat visible in the pic..some sort of A/M piece I suspect. Also, what do people think of the wheels? -
Hey guys, wasnt quite sure where to post this question.. also im a turbo/nissan/stagea novice. Have only had the stag (rs4s) a week and she's my first turbo.. (ive learnt a sh*t tonne of things from SAU forums btw). Okay so i was being a little lead-footed on the way home tonight and found that if i sink my shoe through the firewall, at about 4500rpm in 1st and 2nd gear mainly, there seems to be a noticeable flat spot in throttle.. almost like the revs hit a brick wall then recover. What is happening here, is it normal and how would I overcome this annoyance? Thanks for everyones help in advance →Lorry Ps: only mod (that im aware of), is a 3" cat back

^^^add on for above post^^^ Just got home from work (12.30am), tested adjuster knob for lights on my steep as f*** driveway.. knob works great just didnt realise as when I was playing around with it the first time I was driving from melbs..

When I took my stag to compliance shop I asked them not to remove the xenons.. lets face it, they are far better than adr approved POS.. I'll take my chances Went to regency (SA) for inspections and the first thing they got me to do was turn all my lights on and pop the bonnet.. (I had the lights on all the way there so they were warm), dont know if this helped or if the inspector had a big night before but totally skipped past them.. got failed but only because I didnt have an 80km/h sticker on the spare.. easy fixed. For the record, the adjustment wheel on the right of the steering wheel does absolutly nothing im pretty sure.. wtf! How would one test if it works? Oh, also had a japanese road flare still strapped in on the passenger footwell. Kinda surprised they didnt complain. Has regency gotten a little lax iver tbe years? They used to be freaking relentless. Peace

Got my new stagea registered yesterday.. juat took ot to do what wagons do best.. haul home the shopping. Next step is coilovers then we'll see what happens -
I thought they were adjuatable. Drove mine to adel from melb on wednesday night after pocking ot up amd remember they looked noce and layed back. Got home and showed the missus around it and pulled the seat down lever. When I pulled the seats back up they looked really straight. Looked everywhere for a button or lever then just resigned it to a lack of sleep. After reading this post, I had another look.. AHHH! There's the lever! Nice amd reclined! Man the japs are on to a lot of things awesome! Love my new stag
