Less lag will be a stretch, just because the wheela are smaller doesn't negate the fact it's pushing 50hp more of air. Keen to see results though, could be a downgrade/upgrade for me

Fatz Gtr Reliability Testing
SimonR32 replied to fatz's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
Usually those ally plate os giken are much more savage than the steel plated ones. Hope it's nicer after bed in. Richard over here in WA had massive issues with smashing boxes because of that clutch while steel plated ones seem to be a lot more forgiving -

Bingo, don't let people know that because it "feels" faster So in this case, the 6 speed is slower because of the extra gear change. I race my car a lot and I can tell you the standard 5 speed and 4.11s is only worth replacing if you are having strength problems or want a dog engagement. 4.3's or Getrag conversions don't have a real benefit in performance. -

Watch the video again, the Motive DVD GTR car actually traps at a slower speed (so acceleration is actually worse with the 6 speed). The only reason it runs a 10 is because it gets off the line better... Seat of pants feel vs actual performance usually is significantly different -
R32 Gtr Build In Usa

Looking good! If you want great response go a 6262 or a 6266, for still decent response go a 6466 and make shit loads of power -
I've run 520rwkw and 770nm of torque through stock rods and stock rod bolts for a few years now. That's with 8500rpm and 2bar on pump E85. They are very strong but aftermarket are stronger and very cheap insurance

Had a play at No Limits last night, first time in ages that I've been to Barbagallo (I think it's been a year) and I had a great time. Just managed to break my old track record with a 61.53 long track and pulled about half a second off my best short track time with a 53.31 which I think puts me the fastest R32 GTR on short track now. Best part about it was both were done very easily, the new Quaife diff pulls hard through the longer turns and my laps were getting faster and faster each session. I think a 60 second long track was easily achievable in the next session but unfortunately a Torana dumped oil all along the front straight which took a fair while to clean up and then we switched over to short track. Might be able to do a 59 after all, don't think that a 52 short track is too far away either

Yep, that's the one

Went to my first ever event in the WA Sprint Championship, was a bit tighter and different to what I'm used to but I did really well coming in 2nd out of 83 cars. Got pipped by around half a second by another 32R which is really set up well with a RB30, EFR8374 and some very nice suspension goodies. About 4 sec clear of the rest of the field made me fairly happy!

Lucky for you and very good timing, I went shotgun in it last night!

Will give an idea of response and acceleration from a 6262, 700hp for the first run through gears and then around 600hp when mucking around on track.

Finally back and running, the alignment got a bit stuffed up and they put toe out on the rear instead of in which made it interesting with delaminating tyres on the rear

Bnr32 - Track Only Build

Mine is getting its first run this weekend... Interesting your comment about the block, what's the theory behind that? -
Damo over here just got his 2.8L and 6466 tuned. Don't think they have pushed it too hard up top but the mid range is stonking!

R34 Gtr Garrett -5 Turbo Lag, Need Advise
SimonR32 replied to baicai's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Yeah I've been in Matt's car and it's impressive. Hard to judge being a 3.0L vs my 2.6L, actually next time I'm at the dyno I'll try and grab and overlay. My expectation is a EFR8474 would be a few hundred rpm earlier than mine any only miss out on a little bit top end on same capacity motor. -

If you want response and internal gate then maybe a EFR8374 might be the "right" answer?!? I know that my 6262 is better down low and up top that -5s so the EFR8374 should be even better with response and also be able to make more power than the low mounts. For reference here is a 6262 vs -5s with similar specs on same dyno (6262 running more boost) -
Technically boost builds a little slower on the 5858 but I guess it's flowing a bit more air so more power down low. Owner says it feels better low down on the road than the GT3076R as well Yes and yes to the other questions

Building An Rb26 For Response....
SimonR32 replied to Antimatter's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Nah 360ish is normal for 15psi on stock R33 GTR turbos, pushing a bit more boost should see what Stao makes. In saying that, we had a PTE 5858 on a RB25 NEO that was all over that SAT ATR45 on less boost In saying that, Stao that turbo -

Oil pump gears are ok but forged bottom end not needed -
Went in for a tune last night. 525rwhp on 1.4bar and 555hp on 1.6bar before it started having valve spring issues top end. Higher boost looked like it was heading just under 600hp with 1.8bar. Boost comes on around the same as the 3076R but makes a bit more power earlier (200rpm in lower range when ramping boost) and makes an extra 70-90hp on the same boost through the mid range and top end. Overlay with the T67 on my old green car and they were very similar but the 5858 will smash it with the valve springs sorted and some more boost. Forgot to get a graph printed (will get one when valve springs are done) but it's probably the best mid size turbo I've seen on a RB25 TLDR; Comes on earlier and makes shit loads more power than a GT3076R

Not all, the Bosch branded ones that are around $100 from Sonic performance seem to have issues. Ummmm no. I have never had a set, I've always used Deatchwerks without issue but going to events and watching my friends competing have 3 sets of injectors for when they block is fairly amusing. I've seen around half a dozen different cars all with issues of these injectors blocking, all with different and more than adequate filtering systems. One car evern changed filter set ups 3 or 4 times and still had issues, funnily enough swaped to a different type of injector and never an issue since. If you have these injectors and they work that's great for you but don't you run Xspurt? I'm yet to see a car with these injectors on E85 that don't have issues
