Anyone here played around with closed loop boost control on Vipec? Mine has always been set to open loop but I'm finding that when running higher boost (2bar) the boost holds well in higher gears but in 1st and 2nd I'm getting a lot less (1.5-1.7bar). I know I can run boost trims in each gear but rather than messing around and setting that up is it just easier to run closed loop?

Also keen to know about the cams and a bit more about how it was done... I'd do it straight away if there wasn't such a high price tag associated with it

Oil Control In Rb's For Circuit Drag Or Drift
SimonR32 replied to Sydneykid's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
When I didn't have my oil issues sorted and I was getting too much oil in the catch can I was getting a small issue under brakes (luckily not much load so didn't cause any issues... yet *touches wood*) but since I've got it all worked out I've got no issues at all. Oil pressure drops at the oil temp increases and gets thinner so after thrashing on the track it's not uncommon to get less oil pressure at idle. -

Don't talk sense and logic! PS. 32 coming to Powercruise? I missed out on forklift torque ride last year -
Anyone seen this? https://www.facebook.com/pages/Otomoto/191845587504208?fref=ts Seems very expensive to me, $3500 for a cam, a few lines and fittings (not even assembled) and a couple billet ally parts... Still needs another "$850" of parts to get all the parts needed for install and then you need to assemble and install everything including modifying the cam cover and then setting up a ECU to use. I see about $1000 worth of parts in the $3500 and at the $4350 it's not exactly cheap. If you were doing a decent build the difference to a stroker would be cheaper

Deatschwerks Injectors Any Good?
SimonR32 replied to yoshiii335's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I have DW 1200cc top feed injectors in my GTR and used to have in my Gts-t... Both idle like stock and work very well for economy and power! I had some DW 770cc top feeds in my old RB20 as well, also perfect. I know a few people who have also jumped from Bosch 2000cc injectors after having issues with idle and them blocking over to DW 1200s and now having no issues at all -

1 bar at 3400 in 4th on the road? How about the 9180? Videos please!!! That's almost enough to convince me to switch from my 6262 (if it fits on my manifold), in fact if I can make 700hp on a Dynapack with SAE2004 with a 8374 T4 1.05 and it makes 1 bar by 3400 I will purchase -
I'd imagine you are talking about a dyno dyanmics torque reading (tractive effort)? You can't compare that to a dynapack... Mine made 590nm on similar power so methz result is just about spot on

Roy is right, broken speedo cable = very heavy steering. I've done it twice at the drags back in the day and gone to turn around at the end thought WTF, my skinny ass arms aren't built for this!

Head Stud Torque, Pushing Coolant @ 600Hp

Replace with ARP2000 studs and install as per instructions... 202-4309 The current ones you have are weaker and have probably already stretched -

Know that feeling! -
I can almost guarantee something is wrong... Should easily hold power in 2nd with those tyres
-
Very true, people don't seem to understand what a few hundred rpm can do to a car... My T88 on dyno was only 500rpm (ish) slower to get 15psi on the dyno compared to the 6262, on the road/track it went from being horribly laggy to very responsive
-
Anyone think they actually get reasonable gains from them? I've got a AB flug carbon one at home which I've been waiting to fit, will be interesting to see if it does anything... Otherwise it's a nice rice mod

Should be run in after the weekend! When's the balls and all tune? -
Useless under 7000rpm, then useful after for extracting stool samples

My bet is porky pies haha

Realistically he got dash 5 results... Sure they are Twin T88's? They look more like T67's or TD06-25g

Yeah 30 hot is spot on although I think I'm running plenty more camber than you, I'm up to around 4deg now. Thinking about giving the Kumhos a crack next, I've got the 123S down into the 63's and the A050 a mid 61. Have a set of Ikeya Formula front LCA's to also fit so hopefully the extra track that gives will help times a little because GTR understeer is a bitch
-
What pressures were/are you running? Mine chamfered as well when I first put them on, a little more camber and less tyre pressure seemed to help a fair bit. How do you rate them against the V70A for wear and grip?

Geoff if you get a chance chuck up the graph for the 26 and 8374... One day when I'm feeling rich I might do the swap from my 6262 -
