  1. 1.75 dropping back to 1.5bar at 8100
  2. Fair enough, my point would be lots of factors other that outright power could be the blame for the rings collapsing. A lot of those risks are reduced when using ethanol based fuels I'm not going to rebuild but happy to drop another stock donk in the hole!
  3. What caused the failure? It's probably only a matter of time but I don't drive it a lot and only use 1.3bar most of the time, which makes 350rwkw with correction off or 373rwkw with correction on
  4. Ok did a "STATUS" spec run tonight with a little more boost (1.75bar) with a 9sec run between 2000-8100 with SAE correction on. Went 410.9rwkw or 550rwhp, will get dyno graph up tomorrow
  5. Yeah stock unopened RB25 My Kando T67-25G 10cm running 1.75bar Went 410.9kw at the hubs Will post up graph tomorrow, pretty happy considering it's well over 30deg here today!
  6. Should be having a crack at 400kw at the hubs tonight
  7. Pod is getting fed hot air that has passed through the radiator ahd/or hot air rising from the exhaust manifold... Move the filter over towards the guard and you should get a better result In saying that, it's not really that bad a result... Maybe 10-20hp shy of optimal!
  8. Yes it would have been... Want to start epically backpedaling yet?
  9. That's the one Don't know how true it is but when I asked the guy at the hydraulics joint what pressure they were rated at he said the ally fitting I had would break before the washer seal!
  10. Have you guys ever tried the hydraulic washers with a rubber o-ring inbuilt? I had a issue with a leaking fitting with a copper washer and used one of these and it fixed the problem straight away

  12. A Garrett turbo?!?
  13. Did the heat wrap on the dump today and finally got around to taking it for a quick burst with the new turbo bag (in the 38 degree heat)... All went really well, got back and could put my hand on the turbo bag for a few seconds so I guess the heat would have been around 70deg which would be several hundred lower than what it was originally. Dump was also cool enough for a quick touch. The whole engine bay is now a fair whack colder, so job done. Now just time to get it back on the dyno
  14. Biggest thread grave dig ever!
  15. I wouldn't run it back to the sump... On various times I have found substantial amounts of water in my catch cans! It's not really that hard to top up the motor with oil every once in a while if it is breathing
  16. Soft limiter is at 7800 and hard at 7900. Just moving both to 8000 and 8100 it's not really a huge change... Plus it's not like the motor is falling over, it's still well in happy zone and continuing to make power :-) if I can get a few years out of the motor i'll be happy
  17. Put on a turbo blanket on to try and keep under bonnet temps down for when I head to the track soon... Also the car will be going back on the dyno soon to fix the boost curve so it ramps hard and holds 1.6bar flat to limiter. Also going to bump up the rpm 200rpm to 8000rpm, hoping it should smash out 400kw at the hubs. On another note it will be going on a roller soon as well for a comparison
  18. Getting ready to track the Booga a fair bit soon so thought it might be a good idea to try and drop under bonnet temps a little bit... First on the list a Turbo Beanie and also have a roll of heat wrap that I'm going to do the dump with on the weekend
  19. If you look at his dyno sheet it's running 20psi haha
  20. You are already running 20psi...
  21. 1.5 bar is my "full boost" at the top of the rev range so it came pretty close... I reckon if I changed a few boost control settings I would get there
  22. Out with the old Bride Brix... and in with the new, Bride Zeta II Was in pretty average condition yesterday, gave it a nice clean and a bit of a fix up last night and looks heaps better now. Going to try a few things with it soon to get it looking nice and fresh soon. The old Brix will end up my passenger seat when I can find or swap my drivers rail for a passenger one.
