  1. Just was looking at the Garrett website and noticed they have put up some new part numbers! Wonder what pricing will be?!? Those compressor maps look impressive for big boost and power (should go great with E85!)
  2. I get exactly where you are coming from but you are pretty much guaranteed to fail which would be a pitty considering you would just be throwing your money down the drain. I would highly recommend just getting a replacement donk, Nissan have built 1000's of these motors and I could pretty much put my hand on my heart and say they are the best at doing it. They may not be as strong as a forged motor but with the turbo and power you are after they will take any punishment you can throw at them! Building a motor yourself no matter what parts you use won't be a improvement it WILL be a step backwards. I'm in Perth as well and have access to a very cheap NEO motor with low kms and not abused that would be perfect for what you need. PM me if you are interested. Cheers Simon
  3. Not true at all, at top end when you are making that kind of power a whole lot of exhaust is bypassing the exhaust via the wastegate... 3" on 26 with T04z regularly make between 430-470rwkw
  4. It was actually thousands of forum threads... SOOO much more impressive EDIT: Also found this rather amusing after all his preaching http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/To...ds-t326991.html
  5. Get any good photos of the back of my car at powercruise?
  6. Hey guys, Going to need a standard exhaust manifold for my RB25 and was just going to use my RB20 one that I already have but it dawned on me that they may flow less? Are the RB20/RB25/RB25NEO all the same cast or do some flow better than others? Cheers Simon
  7. Any updates on the "abe" spec ATR43G3 in dual ceramic bb?
  8. Other side of Australia so no chance of that haha What are the housing sizes on these things like, I assume you would need a spacer to bolt onto a standard RB25 manifold?
  9. Was not skeptical before... Was just noting that you had used more boost than you were claiming! I myself am super impressed with your results, so much so that if you get your ass into gear and test a 5557 0.63 on a RB25 I would be very interested in purchasing as I'm just about to do a 25 conversion on my 32 this month and looking at a few options for turbos at the moment
  10. Technically you should just do testing on the "abe" spec atr43g3 without the surge holes so you can compare the journal bearing to the twin ceramics as a direct comparison... If you are also adding anti-surge slots as well you are adding another variable and can't show true results! After you compare the bearing types, then move onto anti surge slots
  11. Exactly, may be a bit ghetto but cheap and gets the job done! Thumbs up
  12. LOL at that leak tester! Good work
  13. Technically a spring in either a internal gate actuator or a external gate is always jamming it shut when the set boost level isn't achieved... Are they backyard?
  14. JZ have tiny inlet ports so need a few extra psi to squeeze the same amount of air through them
  15. I think its just a inherent problem with internal gate turbos... I have seen large internal gate turbos from different manufacturers not hold boost including (but not limited to) HKS, Apexi, Garrett, Hypergear and Mitsubishi! Stao (Hypergear) seems to have come up with a solution and is always looking to improve his products. Best solution, use a EXTERNAL GATE. If you dont want the noise plumb it back into the exhaust
  16. Not having a go, but without before and after dyno testing you really can't claim this
  17. STATUS posted a Hypergear vs 3071R graph a few days ago which would say different. They were for all intensive purposes identical spool... Unless you are going to claim a 3076R will spool faster than a 3071R?
  18. I'm just about to put a 044 in as a upgrade from my Walbro so I don't disagree they flow a lot more! Just for a street car making up to 300rwkw, they are a lot quieter... Easier to install and cheaper
  19. Actually more than 215l/hr at 72psi if you are running proper wiring/voltage according to their chart...
  20. haha I can pick these things a mile away!
  21. What size gate is it? Is the screamer pipe plumbed back into the exhaust?
  22. Sorry I should have said may cause boost to drop off I have a GTR BOV, PM me if you are interested in buying it!
