  1. It's forecast to rain all of tomorrow which made me go to a No Limits event at the track last night to try and set a time in the dry. I got basically 4 hot laps in, only one decent lap and did a 60.19. That compares to a 61.58 on almost dead Advan A050M, I also picked up 0.75sec through one section of the track from changing my line and throttle application. So they are quicker but by how much is hard to tell. $450 cheaper though, I don't think you can go wrong either way
  2. Haha, as of earlier this week I'm back up to 5 spare gearboxes... Was running low after breaking 2 in 2 days
  3. Ended up getting the Z221 C70 "soft" fitted in 265/35R18 last night. Initial impressions, they are wider than the same size Advan A050 and at 100km/hr a fair bit noisier (mind you the A050 were bald so maybe they are not). Appear to be very sticky even when cold so shall be interesting. Going to Barbagallo on Saturday so can basically do a back to back with the A050 in medium BUT it may be raining which will piss me off.
  4. To me your graph in the initial post looks VERY responsive for dash 5's, the boost plots in your latest post seem to confirm this. Maybe the timing belt has skipped a tooth or 2?
  5. The wheel yes, the tyre no...
  6. I have 18x9.5 +15 on the car already, going to 18x10.5 +15 with the same tyres won't change anything... Also they came off a R32 GTR with no issues and I'm running more camber
  7. Some updates as I've slowly been doing some small reliability improvements and updates, just trying to make it a better car... Nismo extended wheel studs R34 GTR Brake Master TE37SL 18x10.5 +15 for "street" AD08R tyres and also a few Gktech items including a fan, shifter springs and shifter copper bush
  8. Another round of the State Sprint Series, I'm apparently 1 point behind the overall leader. Not bad considering I missed a round
  9. So Hankook only have the 265/35 in soft. Hopefully I'm going to trial fit the 295/30 A050 this weekend, if they clear I'll get a set of them otherwise I might try a set of Hankooks in the 265/35 and then I can get a fairly accurate comparison to the A050 M
  10. The second graph has a nice fat torque curve for you to see. The car makes the same power down low (if not more than low mounts), it just looks "dyno queen" because it makes so much more top end. You want some GTX twin results, here is a GTX2863 result on a 2.8L and here is it getting matched down low and then losing up top to a stock bottom end 2.6L As for the track that has corners? You mean where single turbo set ups dominate? I'd love to see some videos of you at the track
  11. 210hp and 15psi at 4000rpm on BP98 is laggy? Please... no RB26 makes good power before 4000rpm and people like to post graphs that start at 4000rpm to make them look fatter That's also 4th gear, if I short changed from 3rd to 4th at 6200rpm it would still be making 420rwhp which is more than the max power -7/-9 would make on the same fuel. Not my car? Really? Stroked? Really? Here is my sale thread for when I sold it, also you might notice the "Genuine R33 GTR Crank" http://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/206647-r32-gtr-430rwkw575rwhp-immaculate/
  12. This one is even better...
  13. The graph and others have been posted on this forum for the last 10 or so years. Dash 5s are the easiest to compare the 7s and 9s are slightly more responsive but made 200HP less Fairly sure Matt over here runs a RB30 with EFR8374 internal gate and it has no issues with power or response. Mind you E85 changes the game a little
  14. It doesn't matter if it's new or old tech, my old T4 divided T04Z set up shat all over low mounts and people think they were designed the same age as a dinosaur!
  15. I don't think I'm going to go backwards going a Advan A050 M in 265/35 to a Hankook C70 "Soft" on 285/35 so may just give them a try. I'm also doing a lot of sprint events so the softer compound should come on quicker for these
  16. Found this which is interesting
  17. Great info, from what others have said the Hankook soft is more like the A050 medium so I wonder if that makes a difference. Do you have times on a A050 to compare? I tend to get my best lap on medium A050 on the 3rd hot lap, don't know if it comes down the driving style, tyre pressures or something else
  18. There is a factory restrictor in the turbo, have you removed it?
  19. Basically the same sort of difference for price in 18's. I don't really mind wear as much as I don't want to go backwards in time.
  20. I'm still tossing up my next R-comp purchase, have A050 M at the moment in 265/35R18 and thinking of trying out some 295/30R18 if they fit but curious on how the Hankook Z221 perform considering the price, can also get them in a 285/30R18 which may be a happy medium in size. So in terms of outright lap times, how would a 285 Z221 compare with a 265 A050M?
  21. You need my boost gauge to complete the collection!
  22. Depends on car use, I'd be giving a 6062 a go if your stuck between the 6262 and 6466 for a decision. It should sit right in the middle in response and power I try and do everything with my car from tight sprints, circuit work,1000m drags and powercruise etc. and the 6262 is right in the sweet spot of power and response. I actually turn it down 140hp for everything apart from powercruise and drags because it's more than enough. What do you want from your car? A 6466 is going to be responsive for its size but it's getting towards drag car only power band on a 2.6L, if that's what you want then go for it but your never going to keep up with the Jones's.
  23. Why people waste their money on twin gates when it's not needed is absolutely beyond me...
  24. The front diff theory interests me, has anyone got proof or is it just a theory? Also does it apply to launches or cornering? Stock or aftermarket diffs... I've seen a few RB30's cranks snap so they are not infallible, I know RB26 cranks are often unusable second hand because they are bent as well
