  1. My old r30 had 4 23 watt brake light bulbs. When one bulb blew I replaced them all with new 18 watt bulbs and a warning light in the dash came on. I got 4 new 23 watt bulbs from nissan and the warning light went out.
  2. Look for evidence the timing belt has been replaced. If you can't be sure do it anyway.
  3. Is it possible to accidently swap the two plugs on the back of the gtr cluster like you can on the gtst?
  4. I bought one off an rb25 for parts and although it was a different brand to the r32 compressor it appeared almost identical and the clutch parts were interchangeable. I can't say if was off an r32 or r33 but it would have been a straight swap. Zexel model no. DCW-17 HE Part no. 506231-0097 I don't remember the model no. or even what brand the one on the car is.
  5. No. It's a huge custom job. If you don't like the sedan lights fit some Bee*R covers.
  6. If it takes up close to the floor don't use a larger diameter slave cylinder because that will make it worse.
  7. This started to happen on my old R30. It turned out to be the start position on the ignition switch was worn out.
  8. Thought so. Thanks for the confirmation.
  9. In the r32gtst factory option thread they are listed as one part. Are sedan and coupe the same?
  10. If this is for an r32gtst it will fit r31, r32 gt/s/t, r33 non-turbo. It will not fit any gtr, sylvia or r33gtst. http://www.cs-shift.com/shortshift.htm
  11. It's a speed alert. There is a small metal box on the back of the speedo. You can remove it and the noise will disappear.
  12. Andrew might still have some. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=106949
  13. Rb26 internals are a straight swap into an rb25 motor. The bores are identical. The rods are the same dimensions but rb26 rods are stronger. The piston pins are closer to the top of the rb26 piston to compensate for the longer stroke so there is no problem with valve clearance and the resulting compression ratio of about 8.5:1 is ideal for most mild applications. By the time you buy good rod bolts and prep the stock rb26 rods you may as well buy eagle rods. To do this rebuild justice you will need a lot more than $3000
  14. Lots of answers here http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...=62674&st=0
  15. When I first got my 32 it had lots of issues due to years of neglected maintenance an indifferent japanese owner. I had the belts and plugs done, injectors and fuel filter, then o2 sensor, then coils, with each change making a noticeable improvement but it still feels flat sometimes. It always goes hard on full throttle but seems to differ greatly in part throttle response. On light cruise at 60kph sometimes I hear a relay tick and it feels like something is holding the car back and it's not the a/c as I first thought because it has done it when the a/c was turned off. It seems like the ecu is pulling some timing out for some reason.
  16. As we all know road registered is not the same thing as 'street legal'.
  17. Is the white one Autech?
  18. As far as the cross member is concerned the r33 gtst five speed is a straight bolt up swap in an automatic r32 gtst but in a manual r32 the holes in the floor for the cross member are about 50mm further forward so although the cross members are all the same they will require modifications for a manual to manual swap,
  19. There are a few ways to make the speedo work with an r33gtst box in an r32gtst. For the speedo to be 100% you need a 21 tooth gear but I don't know which nissan part no. fits. Maybe ask Neo32. You cannot use gtr or gts4 gears as they are cut the wrong direction. The cheapest solution is to use the red 20 tooth gear from the electronic r33 sender on the navara pinion assembly part no. 32702-02G17. Your speedo will read about 5% over so at 100kph your speedo will read 105kph. You need to carefully cut the black plastic 17tooth gear from the navara unit. Remove the circlip from the the r33 unit and pull the red gear off. You will notice that the end of the r33 spindle has a flat half circle section machined on it. The red gear has a mating half circle hole up the centre. I opened the hole to a full circle with a round file being careful not to make the hole any larger, just perfectly round. The gear will now be a tight interferrence fit over the splines on the navara shaft. You will not need glue if you have opened the half round hole carefully. Now for the very important part that nobody seem to have mentioned so far. Think about it. The navara speedo drive originally had a much smaller gear and you have replaced it with a larger gear. The reason that this conversion fails for so many people is because they don't address this issue of different diameter gears. For the gears to mesh correctly the spindle has to be in the right position for the gears diameter. Look at the hole for the spindle in the body of the speedo drive and you will see that it is off center. Rotating the speedodrive in the gearbox housing will move the gear in closer or further away from the drive gear inside the gearbox. For the gears to mesh correctly using the navara speedodrive and the red 20 tooth gear from the r33 box you will need to recut the slot that locates the speedo drive in the box exactly 180 degrees opposite the original slot. If you don't do this the gears will mesh too tightly and be deflected until they fail. I recut my slot using a hacksaw and cleaned it up with a narrow file.
  20. It doesn't matter if the crank has a wide or narrow snout all rb oil pumps fit the same.
  21. Most r32gtst power steer pulleys are 4 rib for the hicas pump.
  22. On the harmonic balancer is the power steering pulley 3 or 4 rib? How many ks on it?
  23. Does anyone know the paint code for the enginebay grey in the early r32s?
  24. Is the rb25de from a 32 or 33?
