  1. Does anyone here own a red R32 4door with a high wing, Qld reg. driving around Lismore last week or so. If your still down this way could we meet as both my son and I own R32 4doors and we thought yours looked pretty tough and would like a closer look.

  3. When I bought my R32 I was alarmed to see the oil pressure gauge just above Zero at idle. I was even more worried when I was cruising at 100ks and put my foot down and the needle dropped to zero. I took the car straight around to my mechanic. He put his master gauge on it and said the oil pressure was perfect so he ordered a new sender. Cost me over $ 200 but oil pressure has read spot on ever since.
  4. I just went out to the car and removed the ashtray. The guy who fitted the headunit forgot to plug in the cabin temp sensor. Click, all fixed.
  5. Could they have accidently affected the climate control when they fitted the new headunit as it seemed to happen about the same time?

  10. We bought an R32 in Qld the other day. It was recently complied under the 15 year rule and registered in Qld for a month. The Qld owner deregoed it after he delivered it to our NSW address We took it to an auvis inspection station for a blueslip but were told that even though the car has been complied and registered previously in Qld that it can't be registered in NSW because the engineer that complied the car isn't an approved engineering signatory in NSW so they don't recognise the mod plate or the engineering certificate. They want us to take it to a NSW engineer and pay $?00s For another piece of paper. Is there any way around this? Failing that does anyone have a list of approved NSW engineering signatories? Thanks.
  11. There are two different styles of R30 afterburner tail-lights. I think they come from early and late HR30 and DR30s. They also come in dark tint versions. If you can get some from an import wrecker don't forget to get the matching trim strip from the tailgate because the MR30 chrome trim looks odd without its corresponding strip in the lights.

  17. I've been told aftermarket dump/frontpipes in one are noisier than the stock dump/frontpipe. Is the aftermarket dump pipe much noisier than the stock dump frontpipe setup with a 3" cat-back?
  18. Has anyone here bought the N1 'style' exhaust as sold on eBay. I'm referring to the polished 3" stainless cat-back ones that are photographed on a black sheet. They appear to have minimal bends compared to the stock exhaust and don't have a resonator, just a cannon style rear muffler. I was wondering how well they fit up under the car and also how loud they would be. From the look of it I doubt it would pass the dB test but I suppose I could fit a resonator if I were to get a canary. Anyone?
  19. Did you run this on your car before it was rebuilt so you can comment on how this turbo drives compared to a stock one?
  20. drft33 Who told you the 15 bar ones flow better? One eBay listing said they are superior to 16 bar ones because they have higher velocity. Higher velocity sounds good but you can get higher velocity when you reduce cross-sectional area and thus increase backpressure so I'm not sure if they actually flow better or not. I saw the small Apexi GTSt intercoolers new on eBay as a buy it now for $799 but they're over now. I'll have to see if they relist them.

  22. I'm buying a fmic for my near stock R32 I've found three alternatives in my budget. 1. Hybrid 600x300x76mm 15 bars. (rated to 800hp) 2. Hybrid copy 600x300x76mm 16 bars (rated to 1000? hp) 3. Apexi 400x270x100? Designed for R32GTSt with built in outlet for an underneath return pipe. (rated to 400hp) Twice the price of the other two. I'm going to fit it by extending the factory piping. I don't think any future mods will see any more than 400hp so would the Apexi be better for response due to it's smaller volume and slightly shorter pipe length? Is there any real difference between the 15 and 16 bar designs? I've been told by people selling something else that the newer Hybrid copies are too light weight and they have durability problems. I don't believe everything sales people tell me. I'd rather talk to people that are using them. Is there another alternative for under $800? What would you go for?
