  1. Does anybody know of any companies make custom vanity number plates? (not proper licence plates) I'd like to get some for a joke for a mates birthday. I have had a bit of a search, but cant find any such company. Any Ideas? Thanks Adam
  2. 12th Dec is my bday as well. hmmm Hopefully I will make it Adam
  3. Pretty sure it is normal. Mine sometimes rattles and whines a fair bit. The only way to reduce it would be insulating the rattling bits I guess. Adam
  4. ebay Adam
  5. I dont think there are many 800-900 hp drag cars on SAU. End of the day I dont think there will be a largely noticable difference between fully synth oil for the purposes of the majority of cars here. That being said, I have heard Castrol R is good, more expensive as well. I run Shell Helix Ultra or whatever it is called. Adam
  6. Ok maybe they are just trying to make a point in general They have to do something to stop young criminals like ourselves, who contribute nothing to society apart from giving current affair shows something to fill 10mins of old footage Adam
  7. I got my rego renewal form today ($533 yay), but on the top it says "Probationary drivers must not drive high powered vehicles unless exempted...blah blah" I wonder if they are trying to make a point and it only gets printed on "high powered" vehicle renewals. Adam PS I am no p plater :thankyou:
  8. The one I got was a little different, apparently it is a C's copy. Basically has a spacer in the stock spot with and adaptor plate that clamps around the g/b. Whether or not it is better than the b&m i dont know. Adam
  9. I dont know about B&M shifters, but I installed my short shifter that I bought off ebay on the weekend. Wasnt too hard, and this is coming from someone who has barely any mechanical skills Adam
  10. I agree with the others, go for the test in an instructors car. When I went for it, in the lessons preceeding the test he took me over the likely routes, even showed me where they will want me to do a 3 point turn. So when it came to test day I had done it all before. Also the instructor will usually know the tester and that means they have a bit of a chat during the test, which takes a bit of focus off you Good luck, and safe driving Adam
  11. I dont have any P's, so wouldnt be me. I saw NATTYK or something on beach road down where it meets with Nepean hwy, was going to wave, but an old lady driving in front of me couldnt handle the 180 turn that beach road does at that point and was doing 30km/h. Adam
  12. I totally understand your point, but I think that while people are in their early years of driving it is the best time to educate them on safe driving. That way they dont start bad habits. At the same time I think a lot of bad habits are probably picked up from their parents/family's driving. P platers arent so set in their ways compared with someone who has been driving for 20, 30 years Adam
  13. I think another good idea would be for people who acrue say 10 points should have to attend a driving course for "re-education" I like the idea of an advanced driving course when you get your P's, and maybe another one when you wish to get off your P's. I did the level 1 murcott course shortly after I go my skyline (wasnt on my p's), and I think I learnt more about my car and its braking ability in that day than I had in the previous 3 years. Adam
  14. I am in Beaumaris
  15. I am contemplating getting a whiteline handling pack for my Skyline, but was wondering what is and isnt adjustable from factory in regards to alignment bits, eg camber, castor etc. If someone could provide some info in relation to R33's and also any other skylines I am sure it would be helpful for others in the future. Thanks Adam
  16. /me looks forward to the knee jerk reaction from the Govt and police to clamp down on import drivers Adam
  17. jeez
  18. I didnt mean it would make the car defective, they just stand out more and attract more attention. I agree that negative attention is unfair. It is easier for people to remember cars with personalised plates compared with cars with general issue ones. Adam
  19. I have a mate who was pulled over by the Officer in question, my mate drives a bt1 vlt. Got away without a defect or epa. He was told to get some bits engineered, and it would be fine. So I dont know, i have a theory it comes down to a few things 1. P Plates 2. Ride height - I have a theory that if they cant see an obvious issue with height, they will be less inclined pulling you over and attempting to find something else. If they can see it might be too low, they know they have you on something already. 3. Driving attitude. 4. personalised plates I guess you can be unlucky. But IMO, end of the day it is only a car, and it is only money. You cant take either one with you when you die. I have had my car almost 2 years, never been pulled over or epa'ed. Maybe i have just been lucky. That said i will prob get pulled straight away hehe. Adam
  20. Wilch: tried reducing the set gain/start boost? Maybe dropping it to 45-50 might help smooth it out. Adam
  21. Might be that your wastegate actuator not being able to hold the wastegate shut Adam
  22. Try and get your hands on a copy of the workshop manual, will probably help the most. Adam
  23. Practice, and some more practice. Launching a manual is more involved than an auto and probably less consistant until you have it down pat. I would be dropping the clutch at more than 2200. Depends on clutch, tyres, surface etc. Get down to a track and line him up and you'll see who passes the line first. Adam
  24. I dont reckon it would be the smartest idea. Cops would just defect and epa everyone there, and probably get parking tickets and various other fines. Adam
