haha i don't see that happening wow sounds like the 8375 likes the bigger displacement. is the new engine 2.8 or 2.9? -

nice work Joey, hows it feel to drive round even on the run in tune? -
when i was looking for an extended sump no one would provide pictures of their baffling and trap doors. i guess they want to keep their design secret for fear of people copying them. i have seen some of Race Fab's work and its top notch so would assume their sump will be the same for what its worth.

is it best for the sump return to be on the same side of the divider as the filters? -
Oil Control In Rb's For Circuit Drag Or Drift
Looney_Head replied to Sydneykid's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Thanks Screamer. That doesn't look like something I want going into oil. Have you had any analysis done on that to see what it’s made up of? What run in did you do on the fresh engine out of curiosity? -

Oil Control In Rb's For Circuit Drag Or Drift
Looney_Head replied to Sydneykid's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Hi people, i have a question regarding catch can setups, i have put two -12 fittings on the drivers side of sump as high as possible with the intention of running one to the top of the catch can and the other to the bottom of the "strained" side of the can for a drain. my question, is it safe to run this setup when using E85, i have read that E85 will do nasty things to oil and the vapour out of the breathers has a heavier water content than regular gas. also nice pics GTRPSI and SSM cheers. very nice start, and very similar specs to my build but more aggressive cams (mine are Tomei PonCams) , what balancer and turbo are you planning on running? -

does anyone have any pictures of the inside of their catch can? it would be good to see what chambers and fillings people have used when doing their catch cans. -
what springs are people using when doing the CoP mod with the LS2 coils?

Hi Ben, i was hoping someone has a pic of how and what bits they used for T'ing into the turbo oil return. and Kiwi i have one of Franklin's VCT feed kits. nice bits of kit

do people have any pictures of how they ran their VCT oil returns on R33 RB25 heads? also a list of bits they used? cheers.

was the rotational idle just for sound or is there a functional reason for it, from what i know about it, its normally used for anti-lag, mine is a while away, it was a simple RB20 build till that gave up the ghost, now it's getting a RB30 with those cams and some other bits. so you don't find it a hassle taking the flares off anytime you want to get in the back of the car?
-
hi, awesome build i am slowly building a 4 door gts-t as well, is that idle with the Tomei 254 8.5mm poncams? and do you have any more videos of the idle? also are you able to open the rear doors with those flairs on?

Fuel Filter Recommendations
Looney_Head replied to Looney_Head's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Hi Scotty, thanks for your reply, i did check out proflow/areoflow but their filters have less filtration then the Fuelab ones, I am not sure if that’s an issue (my injectors don’t have filters in them (2200cc units)). i tried finding SX ( now Edelbrock) ones but it looks like Edelbrock has dropped them and push the Russell ones. i have an SX -10 reg. the main reason for going -12 is so i can fit the filters straight to the pump and surge tank and not have to worry about extra fittings. For the power I plan to max out my turbo and see what happens from there. I am a bit worried about over heating the fuel so will look into a fuel controller. I will be running a fuel temp sensor so will keep an eye on that. Do you know at what temp Ethanol starts getting upset? -
Hi people, i am after some help picking fuel filters, my pump recommends a max of 10-30 micron post pump and 60 micron pre pump. at the moment i am thinking: Russell ProFilter Fuel Filters 649170 (60 Micron) and Russell ProFilter Fuel Filters 649110 (10 Micron) or FUELAB 828 Series Inline Fuel Filters 82824 (75 Micron) and FUELAB 828 Series Inline Fuel Filters 82814 (40 Micron) i have heard good things about Fuelab stuff but haven't heard anything about the Russell ProFilters, the Fuelab are compact vs the Russell stuff but the Russell stuff has finer filtration. Does anyone have any recommendations on fuel filters or thoughts on the above filters? i am wanting two with -12 fittings to suit E85 fuel. pump is an SX 18207 thanks in advance.

Hi all, i am in the process of assembling my RB30 and have lost the bolts for the rear main seal /facepalm. i have tried finding new ones but have been unable to source any locally. i don't know what size, length, pitch, rating they need to be, does anyone know the specs for the bolts so i can head to my local bolt supplier and get some new ones. i know two are one length and four are another length.

Hi iruvyouskyrine, thanks for that , i did do a search but i have found the SAU search function to be hit and miss. does anyone know if doing this will cause a air lock/bleeding issue?
-
Hi, just a quick question. i am about to assemble my engine and want to know if i can block off the two circled water feeds. my plan is to block off one with a bung and the other with a frost plug. i am not running a heater core or anything outside the block that needs water. turbo is oil cooled only and TB does not need water going to it. photo taken from google (not my engine)

Rb25/30 Rb30det Vvt Internal Oil Control
Looney_Head replied to psi's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Hi, i know this has been asked but i haven't seen an answer to it, has anyone got the internal VCT feed working and controlling oil issues to the head on a track engine? what feeds are people running to the head when not using an external VCT but the internal drill feed method?
