  1. most intelligent banter ever there..
  2. lol.. true.. but how much has it rained since that 2 weeks ago. Not too much. Its a QLD thing, pisses down, next thing its bright blue skies. But I love it
  3. After a top radiator hose to suit R32 gst-t. Can be split in the middle, as I am going to be cutting it there anyhow Let me know if you have one lying around.
  4. 'tis true what they say.. I've found with the metallic colours, soon as you apply a clear it goes back to more of a flat look, and you lose the sparkle. Good response from them though
  5. Sorry, bit unclear.. I ran enough for one tank in 1/2 a tank, double concentration. Not enough for 2 tanks in 1/2
  6. slave cylinder is two bolts on the gearbox, and then the line up top, similar to a brake line.. very easy also.
  7. I know I really should pull out the injectors and get them cleaned properly.. this may seem like false economy, but its a bitch of a job, and also to be honest if I am spending $200 for a full injector clean I may as well change the injectors to GTR or other injectors, and spend the money on getting those professionally cleaned rather than dicking around too much with the tiny stock injectors. nedb: sounds like something weird is going on there, should be nowhere near that high! Basically it said that the bottle was enough for 2 tanks, but it did say you could run it stonger concentration.. so I ran enough for 1 tank in 1/2 a tank (double concentration).. I should fill up another proper 1/2 a tank and use the rest. Don't think there is massive chance of damaging anything? car didn't seem any different to drive. But I don't care too much about my rb20 to be honest.. but I don't want it sucking so much petrol even in mild form. Worth trying.. could be any number of things, but for $10 its cheaper than a few other things.
  8. I like "but in the wet" comments.. how often does it really rain? well where I am sitting maybe 1 in 10 days.. rest of the time the road is pretty much dry and its never an issue. And when it is raining, its not that hard to drive a tad more relaxed. If I had a rex, I woudln't be pushing it in the wet, even if it did handle like it was dry. Maybe why WRX are so much more popular in melbourne and sydney than here
  9. R34 GTR seats are around $2000+ You are best off therefore with R33 or R32 ones.. at about half that. Personally for me, I think the GTR seats are solid and look great, they are not comfortable for long distances. After a couple of hundred km in my mates GTR my ass is hurting. They are built to hold you in though, rather than be outright comfortable. Only way is to try them.
  10. too heavy duty? you want to stop kangaroos with the thing! isn't that the idea?
  11. Just a quick one.. thought I would share.. Basically replaced most fuel related items on my R32.. as I was getting absolutely terrible fuel economy - up around 15L on a stock boost/stock exhaust R32 driving around town, even though the car seemed to be powering along quite well. Replaced fuel regulator, replaced oxygen sensor, replaced fuel pump, plugs, fuel filter. Not all necessarily just to improve the economy, just because I have been trying to fix a few other small things and generally servicing things. Anyhow, had pretty much given up on it.. but I thought I'd give one last thing a try -- some injector cleaner. Have always been pretty skeptical on them as nothing more than snake oil in a bottle, and tried it a couple of times on other cars and no difference. But this time its seem to make a fair bit of difference. Economy is now down to about 11L/100km highway, and 12-13L/100km city. Which is about a 2-3L / 100km saving.. which in the end means I'm saving about $2-3 every 100km.. not bad for a $10 bottle! For what its worth I used Nulon injector cleaner. After 1 tank pretty much the improvement was obvious. Now I've done 500-600km things are pretty much obvious there is a clear difference. So anyhow, if you car is fairly stock and still getting above 13L/100km, and you have tried everything else.. give it a try. Might make a big difference.
  12. actually, sorry, the r34/r33 is different to r32.. but you can pipe into the top because as you say you want for the filter to still be doing its job before the AFM. It really depends on the snorkel design of the R34 I guess as to whether this is needed. I've just noticed a bit of an improvement with doing this on my car.
  13. I've got a K&N in mine... fairly quiet.. I've cut a feed out of the bottom of the box to the front bar, so when you do that you can hear it sucking a bit more.. but its nowhere near as loud as a pod.
  14. I don't actually find the RB20 *too* laggy around town - I think some of that is due to the fact mine is still an auto and that really helps it get going.. until I get some motivation up to put all the manual gear in  It does take a while to hit the power band though, but its not like you are sitting there going "come on, come on" Do you find the cusco's pretty bumpy around town? A 1.5 or 2 way would be damn nice. Sliding the back around would be fun I guess, except when you look at your tyres I'd love to see how a 1.5 way felt in an r32 though - so maybe soon i'd like to check it out. I've probably seen your R32 around, as I've only seen about 3-4 black ones down here This wouldn't be just limits of the 2L ? Requires cam work to overcome that? or just a differently balanced turbo? That is where I found the rb25 really shone.. right up to about 200km/hr it just kept pulling, even with the stock turbo. . .rb25 or rb30 in a R32 really would be the killer combo.. I want to have a bit of fun with the RB20 for a while myself, just get to find out some of its limits and not to have to care so much about it.. before going the Rb25.. which is still sitting in my garage ready to go in.. but there isn't massive motiivation just to slap the rb25 in without all the support handling systems there. Hopefully in 6-12 months I have all that ready, and can slap the rb25 in and know it will be a rocket. Yeah.. I am not sure where i want to go really.. I bought a highflow rb25 turbo which should supposedly give me around 220-230rwkw .. (not quite sure how much on the rb20) which may even be enough. I'm starting to think too much over that 250-300+ @ about 1250kg, might be a lost cause in a RWD no matter what brakes, suspension and tyres you have in :-s So maybe its best to stop there ? or?? So many options out there really as to turbo, cams, brakes, tyres, other handling bits - hard to know where the money is best to be spent. Next steps i am considering some Whiteline springs (put bilsteins in a couple of weeks ago - fair difference, maybe not as much as imagined), front swaybar, then rear.. then hopefully that is enough for 12 months or so while i fiddle with engines, etc Keep any feedback coming.. anybody else have around 220rwkw+ and likes to take it to the track occasionally?
  15. bump - as i need this thread and sick of searching
  16. guy is a businessman at heart obviously.. and can't fault him for just trying to get top dollar, but still.
  17. There was a guide on how to make them.. was very easy and would cost you about $5 in parts.. I believe it had to do with wiring a resistor on the "active" line of each injector. It was in a stupid place on here (wanted section??) and can't find it for the life of me anymore.
  18. yes, wrx seats are quite cheap and readily available.. so worthwhile trying. Would have to look into the fabrication/adaption of the rails though as to see whether it is worthwhile.. considering a pair of GTR seats can be had for just over $1000.
  19. There have been rumours of that for a while from both the Holden and Ford camps.. I am not sure whether I can see it happening in a production car from them because of the cost, and being able to sell. Sure it would be awesome, but whether they can get the public to bite at $60k+ not so sure. You have to remember also, that in places like Japan they can afford to throw millions more at development for fancy things as AWD, and trying many ideas that do and don't work during development, as they know they will sell XX hundred thousand rexes/liberties/evo's worldwide. Whereas in Australia, there just isn't that return on investment.
  20. Off memory, don't think even R32 autos run this setup either? curious now..will check..
  21. probably about as crappy and immature as your driving.. I wouldn't worry.
  22. I got a set of King rear "lows" in good condition to suit R32 gts-t.. yours for $60 the pair.
  23. who told you it wouldn't be laggy? a 3L turbo stuck on a 2L ?
  24. GTS-T better.. weight less.. chuck.. fun.. Basically I agree with what Baz is saying above.. my gts-t weighs 1270kg.. and there is about another 50kg I can strip out off the top of my head.. the 89/90 models are the lightest of the lot.. GTS-T's don't have much of a problem with losing traction at the front with decent tyres. In fact with the less weight over the front and in general, may have better turn in and give you bit more exit speed out of the corner. Depends how you like to drive I guess..
  25. Have one.. including the line in good condition.. i'm not driving to ippy though.. off a GTS4.. I got it for manual conversion, but no use to my GTS-T I found out.
