I am running 2x BOV's at the moment.. one stock and the aftermarket..because it came as part of my intercooler piping. The Blitz one doesn't open really at all (much stronger spring), so you do need to block the stocker. Like chef said, some plate metal, some tin snips and a drill should do it. I actually built a blocking plate for the Blitz as blocking the stock one has been known to cause idle problems. Might put the blitz back on when I am running higher boost and you can actually *hear* it

R33 is pretty easy.. R32 is a fair bit more of a bitch.. Also, the Z200 will fit, but it has a straight fitting at the top.. rather than the L fitting. So you may require a longer bit of hose, as you don't want to L bend your actual hose at all, as that will stop fuel flow. Not sure if there is a Ryco available with the proper "L" at the top or not?

True about the tail-lights and Nissan, but Corvette was also guilty. We are talking the model designation, not the bit at the end - Isn't there a Golf GT as well.. that doesn't bother me. It would be like calling it the "Skyline F550", the "Skyline Maranello" or something, getting a bit cheeky. Believe or not, most manfacturers do fairly extensive checks to ensure their name doesn't mean "donkeys ass" in Uzbekistan or something. Anyhow, i'm just being stupid... wish they'd called it the RS32 though Apparently r32 golf is last of the era in that "hold on" capacity anyhow. Think their top line version is going to be a bit more sedate in future I remember reading. well my thoughts are if you give your kid something too hard and fast you'll kill yourself in it - which isn't very responsible parenting. Give them a $200,000 deposit for their house when they're 25, NOT a car when they're 18 and just learning to do all the other stupid stuff in life. Cars are a shitty investment anyhow. If my parents gave me a 30k car, i'd be straight off to the nearest dealer, cashing it in.. and buying a house.. lol .. hindsight though is a wonderful thing

It's all right for tonight, cruising in a corvette and feeling alright!
predator replied to SmoothLine's topic in Queensland
good night yet again... good to see some of the TK crew come along and no hard feelings. p.s. thanks to people who lent me a hand because of being a dumb ass and not putting coolant hose back on properly -
thats a hard one.. there is nowhere you can get the definitive list I don't think. There must be a book the mechanics use. In my experience its no different to the other states really.. the usual things such as tyres, wipers, bushes, boots, suspension, brakes, window squirters, lights/indicators are all checked. Exhaust is meant to be under 90db.. lowest point of the car can't be less than 10cm.. etc

he is saying that the distance travelled on the cruise is about the same from springwood to bris (about 20km) - its not hard Anyhow, there are reasons why we do not announce the exact places we are going, the exact times we are going to be there, or the full plans at these sorts of meets. This is a public forum and the walls have ears. Turn up, have a chat, then go for a drive if you want to .. simple -
just a tip.. I am pretty sure the green sticker is series1.. I have 1x rb20det one (1989 model) and its green, and one off an rb25det engine (1994) - both green stickers and same part number

Your parents should not be buying you cars... Bothers me off about the "R32" name too.. they could have at least chosen something else, rather than another popular model number. Sure, the original probably wasn't ever common in europe, but that is besides the point. It's like naming a hyundai or something a HSV - imagine how peev'ed people would be down here. Would be only pissing off 18 million aussies at max, but boy would they not be happy.

Is my fuel pump goooone, causing my turbo to surge?
predator replied to nissan_gtr35's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Doubt its fuel pump.. unless you have a wiring problem. As mine went dodgy recently, you'll probably find its more likely just to cut out, or drop the pressure, not "spurt" more pressure into the system. It may be possible, but from my understanding I don't think that would be the problem. Anyhow, your fuel regulator should stop any excess pressure getting to the injectors. It may be possible that is more likely to be the culprit. If that is gone, it may not be providing consistent rail pressure. Or likewise, blocked or dodgy injectors. -
I need to reconcrete the back yard anywayz..

im for it .. should be a decent night.. I am up for some .. um.. driving - yeah, thats it! -
for sure.. exact same unit.. as long as its a series 1 AFM (green sticker) you should have no problems.

If its your return pipe, probably yes.. If its not, probably no.. Just get something the right diameter, and use a hoseclamp to squeeze it on there.

Challenges involed installing turbo back exhaust??

Whiteline R33 GTS-T Handling Pack + Springs
predator replied to INASNT's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
well the idea of the swap to the 32 was always to be mostly go / handling, less show ... I've been getting into a few track days up here yeah.. Eventually if I get another car, may just strip it and keep it for track only. I bought a set of bilsteins 2nd hand. i was told they were decent condition, but paid very little for them so doesn't matter either way.. see how they go. Either keep them, rebuild them, or go for something else altogether. Gotta be better than those floaty Zeals I used to have in the old r33! -

Mine look to be very low, even on the highest setting. I'll have to install them first to check, but I have a feeling that they may need to have some more grooves machined in. I'm a bit worried this will upset the rebound of them though. There must be a point where adjusting it effects the optimum rebound point?? Is this when you need to get them revalved - to suit the desired height correctly? -
So I just fitted Kings and Bilsteins
predator replied to GunMetalR33's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
King springs are pretty cheap.. Those prices are about average for what I have seen.. about half the price of the whitelines. A lot of people seem to stay clear of them for track work. Why is this the case??? curious. -
I find a tyre shop is generally a good place to find tyres... that or read back at 20 other threads posted here on the topic

My dream is always just to have a nice car for daily driving, and the race car for the track. Are you required to do a certain amount of CAMS registered events each year to be eligible to import one?? I think I read somewhere you had to nominate which event you were going to be using the car in for it to be accepted? Something like a $10k WRX or the like would be great. Even better, owning one road registered version, and one done up race version with $10k worth of parts in case anything happened

Whiteline R33 GTS-T Handling Pack + Springs
predator replied to INASNT's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I've got a set that seems to have it.. got about 6 ribs on the shaft.. that you can adjust it by moving the circlip up and the spring seat up. -
but as more come onto the road... more will be involved in accidents and theft.. premiums will go up. Unfortunately its the nature of any import, as they become more popular. S15 and R34 will take a bit of a whack in the pants in the next couple of years, but if you are happy with that, then go for it. It's probably no different to any other car that age.

nope.. 6 months.. about 5000km (haven't need to drive much this year). Silver_r33.. I could try and attach the nissan sock to the bottom (much better designed), but basically I think I've pretty much given up using the walbro. It can go in the bin as far as I am concerned. anyhow, enough crapping on.. but its an interesting one.

Think the fuel filter should have stopped most of it getting into the injectors and the engine itself. Thankfully! I could do that I guess, but buying from another forum member (a while ago), without receipt, etc not much chance of a refund from the manufacturer.. They'll probably blame "installation error" rather than pump error, or something like "we've had a lot of people install these pumps without any reported problems". I think they are in the US. Probably not much I could do there, but my thoughts are that the plastic has clearly started to get brittle and eaten away because of the petrol. It did start off soft and spongey. But I couldn't say conclusively. The solution I guess is to not use the supplied sock at all, and just to run a direct hose to the bottom of the tank (no sock) and just hope your fuel filter is doing its job.
