  1. That is about the going rate... How much are you expecting them to cost you? gearboxes sell for around $1500 each or thereabouts.. if that gives about $1500 for the engine and the loom, thats a pretty good deal. Most of the time the half cut is still better value for money, as you will recoup your cost selling the little bits and pieces you don't need. And you can claim "well I can't be bothered".. that is why a half-cut is comparitively better value than a straight engine/etc separated, as nobody has had to spend the time pulling the crap off it, the engine out, etc, etc. It gets just chopped up as the cut and sent over "as is". Time is money.
  2. You raise some good points BATMBL, and I don't see you need to justify selling your products for a bit of profit, after all, you don't do it "just for fun" I am sure
  3. hmmm.. this thread should be locked.. I think it crossed a line somewhere between facts and people with close connections to either product.
  4. which requires what??? I am sure you edited that part out.. can never be too careful...
  5. I only run about 32.. too much more feels a bit dodgy to me.. i've always noticed they pump it up to the crappery at tyre places (usually 40psi yeah). Maybe its to account for the average family boat?
  6. i think you have further issues than the HICAS.. you should be able to take corners with confidence. Depends how sharp the corners are you're trying to do at 90km/hr+ though really?? A badly setup R33 can feel a bit touch and go though. HICAS I am sure doesn't help, but its never felt really unsafe to me in itself
  7. somebody needs to ring the cops, soon as they have a spotting..
  8. sounds like your fuel pump or something is a bit dodgy? or the wiring to it or something?
  9. shit a brick.. I'm sure they will catch the car pretty quick, being fairly unique..
  10. I have a feeling it may be a bit of a myth based on some older cars losing massive amounts due to auto. You have to account for a different final drive ratio at the wheels as well. Most autos I have seen have been at *most* (when tuned) within about 10% of car with same mods, if not same.
  11. random guess... Blocked / clogged up water lines?
  12. sweet.. hopefully my car is fixed by then..
  13. I dunno.. I used to travel 150km/hr in a crappy old sigma, which was my first car, just to see whether i could do it (it could). But I wouldn't have liked to have to have braked safetly from that speeds with the tiny brakes and whatever else. Not that I could have afforded a turbo skyline back then, but I think it would have been somewhat safer than doing it in the sigma.. It's funny in a way, because if you can skew the statistics in other ways, it actually shows older drivers (50+) are almost statistically just as likely to be involved in a fatal accident with the amount of hours spent driving per week, compared to some of the younger drivers.
  14. sweet as.. it's probably simple, but it needs somebody who knows what they are doing with electricals and troubleshooting. Thanks too melv.. I just would prefer it if I didn't haven't to get it towed (again). But if I have to, I might ..its about 10mins away.
  15. hmm, lot higher than the "approximate price" one of the dealers was telling me. Ahh well.
  16. Anybody know of a good autoelectrician on the Goldcoast, who has a good knowledge of Nissans? Smooth, I know you used somebody recently when you had troubles?? They need to come to me as well, because my car is not going anywhere
  17. lol @ roy's sparky.. that is now what I need - I think I'm going to have to get in an autoelec to check all the electricals, as I am starting to think that is more what it is. I have done what I can - at least they'd be able to tell me what *is* working fine. ECU reads error "all fine" (useless thing!) yeah.. this is more *when* it gets warm it goes dodo. I think there is still plenty of life in this engine! After all its only a 100,000km engine (well on the odometer anyhow) - would be strange if it was packing up so early. There is no sign of a stack of oil in the intake or anything like that, no knocking noises, no oil in water, water in oil - the obvious things.
  18. Hey all, Last night we released the all new Gamebiz site with some massive changes - Gamebiz v.2... www.gamebiz.com.au I've been working on this solidly for about the last 2 months, and planning stages for about 12 months. I'm site developer there, so have done all the PHP programming and mySQL using all custom code from the ground up. Has been rewarding in some ways, but so much work. So anyhow, drop on by the new look/layout.. and you will find a massive number of daily news, reviews, features, and previews across pretty much all platforms, from PC to PSP. We've also branched off from the one "all in one" gamebiz site, to 5 other sub-platform sites, for PC, Gamecube, etc - with a slightly differenet colour scheme and content. It's pretty bandwidth heavy, but wanted it to look pretty slick, and there may be a few niggles to start with. They will gradually be fixed up over the next few weeks as we find them. Just thought some might be interested. p.s. I hope this isn't construed too much as spam or a business site, as we don't make any money off the site. Anything we do get just covers costs.
  19. im out .. car is having major probs.. would have been fun *sniff*
  20. Not worlds cheapest.. TEIN are offering a set for probably about that now installed through Fulcrum dealers. You could get a set of Bilsteins + springs for that also, or konis with height adjust and damper. There are many options! And there are those HA coilovers too.. The price of decent coilovers have come down a lot from $4-5k of a few years ago.
  21. ok, continuing investigation.. CSI eat your heart out.. It may *possibly* be a wiring problem around the ignitor module.. removed it, put it back in, obviously jiggling wires whilst doing so. Now starting and running the same as it always did each and every time. Also curious, so ran another compression check on cylinder #3.. its back to 120psi ! vs 130psi of the others, close enough to 10%. I did the first lot of checks twice to confirm and it was 80psi both times. Now would a stuck valve mentioned by chris32 be the problem here? Giving a low reading when stuck open, and back to normal while working fine?? The world confused mother ****er comes to mind!
  22. I am not sure now, I have to investigate mine some more.. it won't start now at all.. whereas before it was running for little bits, albeit rough as guts. Its getting petrol in there (can smell it on the plugs) - think it was actually petrol on the carbon (looking like oil).. but it doesn't seem to be getting spark.. would a dodgy valve cause bad compression?
  23. It's a bit ridiculous, considering I can literally ride my pushbike greater than 40km/hr
