  5. I'm surprised your gearbox is holding up at all Roy! s15 box - wouldn't bother.. Supra box - too expensive. getting the rb20 box beefed up could be an interesting proposition...
  6. There's going to be a whole heap of announcements about it all in the e3 show in about a weeks time.. xbox360, ps3, etc will be shown off.. keep visiting the site in my sig and you'll see the info as it comes to hand Our editor is going to be over there, covering things as it happens.
  7. You can't really avoid (8) - They're a bit heavy.. 1690kg vs about 1400kg is nearly 300kg difference between that an just an R33.. An basic R33 has around 180kw (around low 200's with an exhaust and slight boost up)). It comes down to power vs weight. If you could strip out 200kg you would have it all over the skylines. Wouldn't you also have trouble against some of the older ~1400kg commodores which have put in genIII engines @ 250kw ?
  8. hence my suggestion to post the date of member events in here so that non-members at least knew what was happening, encourage them to join and clashes like this didn't occur.
  9. ba.. business is going under, its barely going to meet its more major debts. Few free turbos isn't going to change things - I'd be getting in there and getting that car back and hoping the work is done.. then again maybe its as you brought it in there Suppliers just get duped and lose their money and wait 6-12 months to get not a cent - happens a lot.
  10. with aussie specs? Meaning they have new ones that are setup specifically for australian conditions?? Sounds nice and interesting. Cost couldn't be cheap however.
  11. Falken ZE326 Dry : 4/10 Wet : 4/10 Value for $ : 5/10 well they didn't kill me.. just.. wet and dry seemed about the same to me (equally dodgy) Falken Azeni RT215's (older revision) Dry : 8/10 Wet : 8/10 Value for $ : 8/10 (although purchased 2nd hand.. rrp is about $250ea. for 16's) Bridgestone Potenza GIII Dry : 7/10 Wet : 7/10 Value for $ : n/a (came on car)
  12. depends what you want it for.. but if its for playing GT4.. forza is better.. and on xbox..
  13. I wish unfortunately no, but I do have a flash on my camera
  14. pix? Weren't you bagging out your own VR4 when you first got it as it wasnt what you expected? Or has time you warmed you to it? Or is this a different one? confused
  15. yeah.. aircon still fits.. horn has to go walkabout to somewhere else.. Must be the season for it (approaching winter and all ) - I just installed mine the other night.. havent done the piping yet, but thats lying around ready to go. Cooler takes M8 bolts.. not too long (16mm i think i used) Mine was the 450x300x75 one.. but just a bit shorter, so just less cutting required.. you can see the bumper skin needs cutting a bit (standard GTS-T bar): neato perfect fit bracket (from bunnings) to hold the bottom.. end result...
  16. for $100 i will give you a free smack in the face
  17. CV boots and steering rack boots are two different things.. they are talking front driveshaft in GTR.. gts-t just has a steering rack.. If you want any tips on changing the steering rack boots then PM me, as I did it recently.
  18. goodbye BC337 hooked my DFA up just before, and fried a transistor in a smelly fashion. I thought I had double checked everything too. Appears as though I mixed up the polarity for the diode on closer inspection.. so its off to buy another BC337, and I'm probably a whole 20c poorer (poor me). So if constructing at the moment: a) triple check your double checking B) don't attempt construction whilst drinking (oops) c) see B)
  19. just for the record: mine is number 7 and a few other worn things, which are getting replaced in about 2 weeks time. Should make it a totally different car to drive (and already I thought it was so much nicer than the R33 )
  20. Stock R33 blow off valve, and metal gasket.. suit defect.. or you are sick of pssht cop attractor and want to go back to stock BOV.. $40 ($40 seems cheap when u have to run around to go fix a defect)
  21. Was going to post this actually.. I hired it friday.. I am in two minds, but it is pretty damn good. Reminds me of a cross in some ways between NFSU and Gran Turismo (of course). Graphics aren't quite as crisp, or the lighting or something as realistic as Gran Turismo in my mind - feels a bit cartoony. Replays aren't as good either. Its great though you can actually detail up your car with brand name kits and bits, and the mods seem a little more "real" . Its a bit of a straight ripoff at times though, but hey, no gt series for xbox means they have to try something. It has all the good cars, but in a way, it doesn't counter so much to the enthusiast who just wants to drive a little daihatsu Move or something obscure and see what you can do with it. So you end up with the better cars, but this makes it a bit boring in some ways... Lets not even discuss the music.. Smashes can effect the driveability of your car and i was fighting to stay steering straight after rear ending in one race the other night, it depends on what difficulty you have set it to for this setting "mild, medium, hard". I like the fact that ramming and shunting cars to win will lead you off the track, whereas it can get you wins that you shouldn't in GT. I like the fact that you can get more win $ by using harder difficulty, turning off traction control, running manual, etc. This is the way it should be, to make the game a good challenge, and make you want to learn the full complexities of driving without any driving aids. I like the fact that as you mod your car it goes up a different class, although this makes the game a heck of a lot harder. Its scary in that many of the tracks like Tsubuka, nuremberg are exactly the same, so it almost feels like you're playing a slighty different Gran Turismo at times, just on xbox.
  22. Don't forget, the japs and the suppliers that find these cars, know that it may be their last chance to get a decent price (overpriced to them) on that old 15 year car thats been sitting there, waiting for an overseas buyer.. Otherwise what do they do with them? some will be literally junked. Sellers should be able to profit a bit on this at the last minute too good luck with it! whichever way you decide.
